Good Morning Everyone,
Its dry and bright outside here in Brackley this morning .
Today for me maybe do an early small shop , and then watch TV , with cycling on later as well.
Also later put the clocks forward an hour as well, plans to get a 2 course Chinese take away later also.
But with Lockdown restrictions coming in on Monday , and the opportunity to use the bus and visit places like Buckingham ,and bicester are on the cards .
Take Care,
Mick

Kalu

It is indeed a very sad day for Maw as her beloved Hattie was PTS yesterday afternoon. ?

Really sad. So sorry to hear that. Our pets are family. My sympathyMaw

Marydoll Sat 27-Mar-21 09:08:15

Poor Maw, what a dreadful year for her. Unable to interact with friends on GN , unable to see her family and now the sad loss of her faithful companion. Life is indeed very cruel. ?

Grammaretto Sat 27-Mar-21 09:10:29

Good Morning all from the Scottish Borders. It is freezing outside. I just tried to drink my morning tea in the greenhouse but the sun hasn't reached it yet. It will.
I can't keep up with the news on here. I think there's a lot of cross referencing to things earlier in the week. Too much for the old brain.
I gather that Iris is doing a sponsored walk on her crutches. What a brave soul. I will want to donate to her cause.

A bull has arrived on the farm where sheep is poring over old maps. should be interesting

Maw's dear dog Hattie has been very poorly so she had to be PTS. ((hugs)) so sorry.

Dragonfly's friend is grieving her son. So sad.

I have been ordering bee-related presents for my dgd and they are arriving. Now I will have to wrap them and post for her Easter birthday. I will add some flower seeds to attract the bees and perhaps an easter egg if I can find one.

Sending Auntieflo my best wishes. Another brave soul.

Thanks for the uplifting photos and have the best day you can.

Oh and well done Wales! .

Grandmafrench Sat 27-Mar-21 09:14:13

A garden to plan, how lovely Pitt and Jax.??
Such very sad times for you, dragonfly - enjoy this coming Tuesday!
Super, a vaccination, amselerin and things to plan. Good luck indeed, oliversnana. Old Deeds to treasure and keep in the family sheep. Sending a little squeeze for your girl, pinchy.
Auntieflo poor Maw has lost her beautiful dog, Hattie so is in bits at the moment.
Enjoy a change this evening, Grandmabatty. Hope that bad head has gone. Grey FaceTime etc., usually makes me cry now....not quite the effect I’m looking for! Aly lambs and cake - and what’s not to like? ?.

Have a chilled weekend, Laura, thinking about positive stuff.

Good morning from a very windy NE, dry now but we had wintery showers during the night.
DD is 52 today and this is the second birthday I have been unable to see her.
Spent ages online yesterday having a shopping spree, I bought loads of random objects, most importantly I bought books.
Got my financial paperwork sorted and posted so that was a job well done.
Hoping I can find d a decent film to watch this afternoon.
Take care everyone.

Good morning from the north west where it is bright but chilly.
Yesterday, following the heavy rain, in the period of enticing sunshine and just before the ‘orrible hailstones I managed to relocate the crocuses and tidy the garden.
Now what shall I do to busy myself today?
I continue to be in awe of Iris - what a star she is!
Love the bird box pictured on Friday and the quilt shown today. Very clever and talented ladies.
Sending healing thoughts to those who are unwell and troubled. Have the best day you can everyone and keep safe.
?????

Good morning from a very chilly and cloudy Black Country.

We have a Roofer coming this morning to give a quote to replace our flat garage roof! That is probably as exciting as it will get today.

We booked a few days away in our caravan to a site near Lyme Regis at the end of May. So that is something to look forward to.

Love and hugs to Maw that was so sad to hear about Hattie. I hope GN allow her back here with her friends.

Urmstongran Sat 27-Mar-21 09:25:00

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it is sunny but seems cold I can hear the wind, brr! It’s taken me a while to read the 50+ posts above me and halfway through, my friend and neighbour from our landing in Spain rang me for a chat. It was nice to catch up. Obviously she’s an hour ahead of us and had eaten her breakfast. I don’t think she was aware it was only 8:20am here! She gets anxious and had thinking on her mind. I know she finds chatting to me helps calm her agitation, bless. At 85y she does very well. No sign of a jab yet for her, nor anyone she knows.

We have no plans so will see what unfolds as the day progresses. Hope Saturday is good to us all. I’m another amselerin who procrastinates and than ‘has’ to get things done! Fabulous news that Iris is in training for her own marathon grandMattie. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny Northampton. No plans for today - I have done all the gardening I can and am waiting for DD to take me to the garden centre next week.

Happily I got a text from the GP yesterday asking me to book my second jab, so it is 8th April, can't wait!

Auntieflo, dear Maw had to have her lovely dog put to sleep yesterday, as Hattie was so poorly. A very sad day for Maw.

Taichinan and Grandmafrench, it was definitely the curries we ate in the mess and in restaurants I was talking about. I was in heaven when we revisited Singapore and I got to taste them again. My favourite part of the world. It was a great place in the late 60s, of course, as it was there that DH and I met.

And finally a flamingo for everyone that I found on my coffee jar!

EkwaNimitee Sat 27-Mar-21 09:37:36

Good morning, Mick and everyone from a bright and breezy Cumbrian coast.
The dark wet day cleared up quickly yesterday so I drove up to Carlisle in glorious sunshine. Lovely views of sparkly white mountain tops and, suddenly, lots and lots of little lambs have appeared in the fields.
I now have the keys to my new house. It all looks dauntingly smart, I wonder how long that will last? I have a feeling that all those plans to have housework schedules to keep it that way will not last! When I chose colours and styles from little samples, it was really difficult to envision what it would all look like when put together. But the result is, it looks great, even better than I thought it would. I have crept out of my comfort zone and have gone for light and modern instead of a more colourful traditional look.
As for all the professional cleaning ordained by the letting agents head office, it's not going to happen. I rang the local office for advice and she pooh-poohed it all. I'm just to clean it myself to a reasonable standard. As I already do that, I should be OK when they come to check the place out.
Today is to be a day of admin, tedious but necessary. Plus, I need a sitting down day after my exertions yesterday.
I'm looking forward to hearing about Iris' fundraising effort and hope her training goes well.

Wishing you all a satisfying day.

Scentia Sat 27-Mar-21 09:39:17

Oh Maw so sorry to hear about Hattie ❤️

Nannagarra Sat 27-Mar-21 09:40:27

Maw ?

hollysteers Sat 27-Mar-21 09:41:41

Good morning Mick and everyone from a blustery Lancashire northwest coast. The wind has blown off the plant on my little “bistro” table in front garden but I intend to find my sheltered spot for some Vit D. I have been enjoying my birthday presents, flowers, Belgian chocolates and my new Alexa, so can talk to her apart from the cat.
Must have a tidy up after my birthday orgy?REAL cooking took place courtesy of son and everything domestic dropped for the company.
I watched the first episode of Shitsel on Netflix and love it. Must spread the episodes out and not have one big binge.
Thinking of little Louis, Maw, Dragonfly, Cherry, Auntieflo, Marydoll punchy and all with troubles.
Back later for a read through.

Gelisajams Sat 27-Mar-21 09:50:31

Maw?

Megs36 Sat 27-Mar-21 09:50:31

Our second vaccination is next week, a couple of weeks earlier than expected. Thank goodness for NHS and all who plan everything.

Good morning everyone. Sun's up in the Gower and it's a lovely Spring day even if it is a little on the cool side.

Yesterday ?! My WP is very good at a lot of things but his memory leaves a lot to be desired ... he's particularly useless forgetful about ordering his repeat prescriptions but won't let me take control help him keep a record so he can order them before the day he runs out! He ran out ?. He had to ring the GP to ask to have repeats from the pharmacy so he would have his supply over the weekend. The GP was great and did it but lo and behold, as I thought might be the case, the pharmacy didn't have all of them in stock. Cue getting in the car for a journey of several miles to the nearest pharmacy open, in Sainsbury's. They didn't have them in stock either! He still won't listen to me and let me help get him organised ?. We didn't argue exchange words over it but he's staying out of my way this morning, looking rather sheepish ?

Today I'm going to be rather indulgent and take some impressions from the garden for my next non artistic artwork and sit drinking tea and eating chocolate, #lardya**e ?

Scentia I think you've done a great job with that quilt! Don't talk your efforts down, it's wonderful ?

What an amazing young lady Iris is to be preparing to do a three mile sponsored walk on her crutches. Truly inspirational. Yes, please let us know when the time is right so we can have the link to sponsor her when she's ready grandMattie ?

Marydoll, please take it easy and take care ?

My guppy brain -- that's probably unfair to guppies-- knows that there are some goodmorningers who have family members with birthdays today but it won't let me access who you all are, so I'm sending birthday greetings en masse to them all ? ? ?

I won't tell Auntieflo, it's instinctive and understandable that you illicitly ((hugged)) a couple of people. Sending you one back ?

Thank you everyone who have sent me and are still sending me well wishes, they are appreciated more than you know ?

Have a decent Saturday everyone, sending my very best to any and every be of you struggling for whatever reason at the moment ?????????????.
Be kind to yourselves everyone ❤️

CherryCezzy Sat 27-Mar-21 10:15:12

See, I do have a guppy brain! I want to send my condolences to Maw who I know that Hattie was her joy ?

Taichinan Sat 27-Mar-21 10:30:49

Good morning all from a beautiful day in the Angus coast. Where did that come from?! I wasn't expecting that this weekend but it's very acceptable.
Have read only the first two posts so far - another 68 to go so far! - so will have to leave that pleasure until later. At the moment my lovely gardener is here. He's been coming to me for nearly 20 years now and is 70. He's been an outside worker all his days - first on farms and later working for himself - and he's a real treasure! What he achieves in one hour would take me a month of Sundays, bless him.
Apart from that, nothing to report. I can't believe we've been living this strange life for a year now. But a sunny day certainly improves the quality. I hope the sun is shining where you are, and the birds are singing and the flowers are blooming. Stay safe all. ?????

Taichinan Sat 27-Mar-21 10:32:16

Jax love that!!

Stilllearning Sat 27-Mar-21 10:32:32

Good morning from S Lanarkshire. It’s been a busy week so a quiet day planned. My friend is surprised and very touched that total strangers are thinking of and praying for her and her husband, who’s dementia, I’m afraid, is not saving him from understanding their loss. She sends her thanks.
My thoughts also go to dragonfly and her friend.
Great admiration for brave little Iris Grandmattie, I’ll want to donate too when it gets organised.
Good wishes to everyone for a peaceful day.

GrannySomerset Sat 27-Mar-21 10:38:05

We both have second jabs next week - on different days and in different places, of course - and are pleased to think we can have friends for coffee outside. Hurrah!

Grey and uncertain weather but yesterday 20 posh sweet pea plants arrived (belated birthday gift) and I need to find a place for them and prepare it. That will be quite enough physical effort for one day!
