This used to be such a popular thread - where is everyone?
Or are you all 'going right through the night'?

Nana3 Tue 30-Mar-21 09:45:12

Haha, sorry about that, it was your turn of phrase and my lack of sleep.
Lots of us pleased to have the night owls back so thanks again.

Lollin Tue 30-Mar-21 09:54:29

I too wondered what had happened. I must admit to either being too desperate to message in the early hours so just look to see if I am all alone or resist going on in case I might just be about to dose.

Just pleased that this popular forum has resurfaced to meet a need!

Rufus2 Tue 30-Mar-21 13:55:04

It's good to know there are people out there, when all around are sleeping

Otherwise known as "Guardian Angels" grin

Mollygo Tue 30-Mar-21 13:58:16

Rufus2 we’ve missed you too, or I’ve been looking on the wrong threads.

Kim19 Wed 31-Mar-21 04:04:51

Hi Rufus! Good to hear from you again. Lots of people on here thought you had gone walkabouts.

silverlining48 Wed 31-Mar-21 09:03:17

Morning all. I don’t usually sleep well but the last few nights have been marginally better. Trouble is when I wake (as I do, often!) I can’t focus properly on this tiny phone screen so unable to see/write anything at all. Am with you all in spirit though. It can be a long old night.

Kim "Going walkabouts" is usually taken to mean "going off one's rocker", and wandering off into "the bush" due to excessive heatwave weather! , but after 50 years here I hope I'm still on my rocker, albeit of the rocking-chair variety! grin
But many thanks to the "lots of people" for thinking of me! and No!, I haven't met FC doing a walkabout!

Crocodile Dundee was always 'going walkabout'.
And he certainly wasn't 'going off his rocker', Rufus?

Kim19 Wed 31-Mar-21 19:01:58

Rufus, I thought you already knew...... my ignorance knows no bounds!

Blossoming Wed 31-Mar-21 22:22:08

I had a really good night’s sleep last night. Sadly I don’t think there’ll be a repeat tonight as my temperamental tum is making ominous rumbling noises! Good job I have plenty of audiobooks ?

ixion Wed 31-Mar-21 22:44:02

Good luck! Let's hope there may be some company for you in the wee small hours!

Nicegranny Thu 01-Apr-21 01:50:36

If l go to bed now it’s still better than my all nighters.

Have ordered a couple of new books from Amazon.

Hello! I managed 2 hours sleep and now here I am. This is beyond a joke!

Nicegranny Thu 01-Apr-21 02:35:52

Hello Nannytopsy

I’m back again I was feeling a little bit tired but my brain won’t stop going round and round about all sorts of stuff.
If l had two hours l would be up all night
(again)

Coolgran65 Thu 01-Apr-21 03:21:20

I’ve had 1.5 hours and am up and quite awake. This is my usual pattern, Up for a couple of hours and then back for a second shift. With luck I’ll make about 6 hours total.
Yesterday morning it was 8am when I went back to bed and didn’t wake until 1pm lunchtime. Oh my goodness.... it was wonderful.
Difficult when fighting restless legs syndrome (for the past 35 years).

Crocodile Dundee was always 'going walkabout
Ixion And it's not hard to understand why!
Paul Hogan, the psuedo "Crocodile Dundee" must have been off his rocker, having had 6 children across 2 marriages, no wonder he had to get away from "the wife and kids" now and again! grin
The REAL Crocodile Dundee (Rodney Ansell) must also have been off his rocker too, after spending so much time "in the bush", by first shooting a policeman and then getting himself shot and killed in return in 1999. shock
Sweet Dreams!

Morning people! I've just been lying here watching a programme about wonderful places to eat in Yorkshire. Most enjoyable and, surprisingly, didn't make me lust after food in any shape or form. However it did rekindle a nostalgia for the places visited. I've been to some of them in the past and wouldn't half fancy a return trip. Aah..... I can but dream......

Mollygo Thu 01-Apr-21 04:22:19

Just about to have a cup of tea. That will send me to sleep again. The wind is dreadful tonight, but at least it’s not raining. Nicegranny I hope you enjoy your new books. What do you like? I’ve just downloaded an ‘old friend’ to read, because I find rereading is more soporific. Fingers crossed!

Blossoming Thu 01-Apr-21 17:59:42

I had a really good sleep, despite the gurgling guts! They must have been singing a lullaby grin

Savvy Fri 02-Apr-21 03:20:01

3.20 am and I'm wide awake.

Kim19 Fri 02-Apr-21 03:30:42

Yep. Me too. Just thinking about which bit of telly to watch. Something happy and gentle is my thinking. Not in the mood for heavy drama. Hope you get off to sleep. I'm okay with this. Totally comfy and cosy.......

Savvy Fri 02-Apr-21 12:55:34

Exhaustion kicked in just after 4am, so I tottled off to bed then.

Rufus2 Fri 02-Apr-21 14:30:51

I had a really good sleep, despite the gurgling guts!
Blossoming Are you sure it wasn't Frankie's rendition of
"I've got you under my skin!? grin

Btw; Whatever happened to the "2Wit 2Woo" thread?
Did FC shoot them before disappearing? shock

Hello Mollygo
I have just received The Betrayal it’s a thriller and it looks a bit of a skinny read. Also Where the Crawdads Sing which l wasn’t too sure about. I’m still reading Breath on and off but got to the instruction of exercises and thought that bit is for daytime hours. I have a Kindle Paperwhite and missed having an actual book in my hand. I seem to be going through a restless phase where lm not concentrating on what lm reading and enjoying this time like l used to when I was working.
I think like many other people it’s the lack of routine and being newly retired doesn’t help.
The first two weeks of retirement was bliss but during the lockdown I lost my way and less organised. I think staying up late waiting for my daughter to call from a different time zone was a part of the problem but now the clocks have changed we’ve switched to a morning call that helps.
