Good Morning Everyone,
Its twilight here in Brackley but its also dry as well, if the forecast is right a warm day .
Today , I will catch the bus to Bicester , having not visited there since early December.
Will do a small shop there , but also visit the bakery shop who's cafe I use in normal circumstances , by a few cakes plus Hot X buns .
Will have an hour there which is sufficient and its a change of scenery as well , hopefully buy a new paper shredder .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a clear dawning E Kent.
I hope you enjoy your day out today, Mick. Be careful though.
My Tai Chi group is restarting in a decommissioned churchyard today. At least it will be warm and sunny ☀️ . None of the group is under 70 so warmth is important. It can get very breezy on the quay where we have had our classes previously. We may go back there if it feels too public at St. Peter’s.
Nothing else on today. A bit of a rush to finish the quilt as DGS may come over the Easter holiday.
Be safe today; find a smile and a flamingo ? in the debris of the day. ?????☀️

Good morning, Mick, from Surrey where it's clear and the full moon looks fantastic, low in the sky - quite a surprise when I opened the curtains! Enjoy your trip out today. Hope you track down a new shredder.
I've had breakfast and must now organise my thoughts by making a list of priorities so I don't spend the day going round in circles.
Best wishes to everyone.

Good morning to Mick, grandMattie and those who are still ?-ing from a dry and what we hope will be a sunny day again in Torbay. It was glorious yesterday and QM2 was posing at a better angle for a photo.

Today, I’m “allowed” to visit my second home on a site near Okehampton but not stay overnight. This is easily done as it’s less than 40 miles away and a fine day is promised.

A requirement is that, ahead of my arrival, I inform the site manager of my plans, including what essential maintenance I will be executing during the visit. Presumably, this is so they have answers, should the police take an interest.

Wishing you all a day of sunny skies, with relief from pain and anxieties. ☀️??

Good Morning everyone from Severnside and welcome to the new Morningers. There’s a lovely glow in the sky and sunshine forecast all day. Your bus ride should be a pleasure today Mick and your car will get a good run Ashcombe.

I’ve caught up on my lost sleep. Had a nap in the chair and went to bed earlier than usual.

I have something to do for my brother today so will make an early start on that and also get some sun as I’ve a shrub to plant.

Have a good day all ?

Sheepandcattle Tue 30-Mar-21 07:00:23

Good morning Mick and all from a misty Wiltshire with the promise of a warm day to come. I haven’t posted for a couple of days because things haven’t been much fun on the farm and I’ve gone into worry-mode ?. The new bull that we bought is turning into a bit of a disaster - we’d seen him back before Christmas and had been very impressed with him and had committed to buying him, however when we picked him up last Friday and got him back to the farm it became apparent that he’s not a well chap. Had the vet out yesterday and a blood test has shown that there is an infection going on somewhere -where we don’t know. So he’s now on a course of antibiotics. We’ve got the hoof-trimmer coming out today or tomorrow to check his feet to see if there’s a problem which is making him reluctant to stand and eat. I think it’s 50/50 as to whether he’s going to come right which leaves us with the very significant problem that we may not have a bull fit enough to go in with the cows next month - a very expensive problem ?. The second bit of bad news is that I asked the vet to take a look at Pinchy’s legs while he was here. I’d been getting increasingly worried that, whilst her legs had straightened, her feet really hadn’t improved and we’re still ‘very wrong’. My vet, who I have a lot of trust in, agreed that her feet were not going to improve and would become a bigger problem as she got older so advised that she was euthanised. He put her to sleep on my lap but I’m gutted that I couldn’t get her right. In her short life she was very loved. On days like yesterday, farming feels pretty brutal.
Sorry for my tale of woe- today is a new day and I’ll do my best to try an spot the allusive flamingo that is surely hiding somewhere! And the sun is going to shine today so onwards and upwards......☀️
Mick - enjoy your trip out to your old haunts and I hope you bump into some of your friends on your trip out. Ashcombe- enjoy your day out too and wishing everyone else a happy Tuesday.

Good morning from Essex by the sea where the sun is already up and shining. Another lovely day ahead. All the local car parks reopened yesterday so our local beach was fairly busy, the schools have also broken up for Easter round here.
DGD2 started secondary school last September and her mum, my DD1, had her first virtual parents evening yesterday and received a glowing report. Not just about her academic work but about her personally. Very pleased and proud as at home she can be a typical pre-teen.
DH has an appointment with a Dermatologist this afternoon, its come through very quickly and after what has happened with DD2 I am a little concerned.
Our ensuite is having new floor tiles laid this morning and that is my excitement for today.
Enjoy a sunny Tuesday and find a ? in your day xx

Ashcombe Tue 30-Mar-21 07:12:47

So sorry you are having a tough time of it, sheepandcattle. Poor little Pinchy, but what devotion you showed towards the little character in his short life. I hope the bull improves with the hoof and antibiotic treatment. As you say, farm life is far from idyllic.

Grammaretto Tue 30-Mar-21 07:13:38

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. We did not have your English heatwave. It was blowing a hoolie. Today looks calmer.
Sorry Sheepandcattle to hear your news from the farm. As you say, Pinchy was well loved in his short life.
I had a very sore throat yesterday - the sort that hurts to swallow -but it feels much better today. I haven't had any colds for so long. Another advantage of lockdown?
Yoga this morning and posting off parcels to the DGC with Easter birthdays.
Thinking of all with troubles.

Jaxjacky Tue 30-Mar-21 07:21:23

Good morning from a promising looking S Hants, touch of chill at the moment. Mick it’s been a long wait, enjoy your trip out. And Ashcombe an taste of trips to come on breaks. A tough day sheep but that’s business on the farm, bit of a b****r about the bull, will you have any recompense?
I’m up earlier that I’m used to recently, DH is off to work, so I’ll go to the farm shop and on to M&S returning the four tops ? which are way too big. I’ll be back later when I’m more awake!

NanKate Tue 30-Mar-21 07:21:45

Morning Mickand All.

There is a gorgeous sunrise here in South Bucks.

We have a place booked to visit Cliveden Gardens today in this beautiful sunshine. We are taking coffee and biscuits which we have on arrival in the countryside car park directly in front of some trees and bushes. DH puts out bird seed on the wooden posts and table and every time one or two robins come out and feed. We know exactly where they live. Then after a walk of the vast gardens we will find a secluded bench and will eat our picnic lunch. Simple pleasures.

Dwmxwg Tue 30-Mar-21 07:21:47

Good morning from north Surrey. I woke up whimpering from a scary dream, was glad to have DH to cuddle up to. Looking forward to a sunny day. I was admiring the moon on my drive home from work last night with its golden surround.
Sheep so sorry to hear your troubles, I do hope the bull does not turn into an expensive nightmare. Can you “hire” a bull in to do the job if needed? Also poor Pinchy, sad decision to make, but I am sure you did the right thing ?
DH and I will choose a longer walk today to enjoy the weather and take a picnic with us. Granny duties later whilst DS’s partner goes to the optician. Glad for a quieter day after full on shift again yesterday.
Wishing all a good day.

brook2704 Tue 30-Mar-21 07:22:50

Good morning everyone from Inverness, it’s dry just now but rain is on the way
What sad news about Pinchy sheepandcattle I’m sure you did everything you could and hope whatever is troubling the bull gets sorted out soon
We had planned a walk today but will decide a bit later depending on the weather
Enjoy your Tai Chi GM and the good weather for it
Hope you enjoy your change of scenery and your visit to Okehampton Ashcombe - another step forward
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings ?

dragonfly46 Tue 30-Mar-21 07:23:07

Good morning from sunny Leicestershire.

Friends in the garden for coffee this morning and meeting 3 others outside this afternoon.
Still can’t see family ?

Pittcity Tue 30-Mar-21 07:24:41

Good morning from sunny Colchester. The heating has come on as it's a cold morning but the forecast says 24° this afternoon. It's a day to wear layers!
Having stones delivered for the garden today, so we'll work up a sweat laying them.
All of our recent deliveries have caused a cardboard mountain so we're glad it's recycling day.

Sad news about pinchy, she was much loved.

Hugs for all x

brook2704 Tue 30-Mar-21 07:27:02

Sounds an idyllic my sort of day NanKate enjoy every minute!

Gelisajams Tue 30-Mar-21 07:31:42

Good morning all from Morecambe Bay where a dry dry hopefully awaits. It’s grey at the moment but we are forecast sun. I will be scarifying and edging lawns today. Not my favourite task!
So sorry and saddened to hear the news from the farm Sheep after the hard work of the last few weeks it’s the last thing you need. I assume that choosing a bull is quite a gamble. My friends sister has a dairy farm and they realised that the cows were not in calf. It turned out the bull they bought at great expense had a twisted penis!
Love your views of the Bay Ashcombe especially on such a glorious Devon day. Hopefully we will be down to see for ourselves later in the year. The ‘campa’ has to earn its keep.
Thinking of all with sadness, pain and worries may you find a ?today.
Take care and stay safe everyone ?

Beauregard Tue 30-Mar-21 07:33:27

Good morning all from a misty Derbyshire.

It was lovely to see DGS yesterday. He's such a happy boy and his giggles really lift the spirits. I set a couple of trays of seeds during the morning but didn't stay in the greenhouse for long as it was too hot in there for me!

Tuesday walk today - DH's favourite day of the week. Although we walk most days this one is always the furthest. I'll be happier in a couple of weeks when we'll be able to have a stop part way round for a spot of lunch! Also, I'm sure I heard him say the words "rotovate the veg garden on Tuesday afternoon" the other day. I'm not so sure about that as I won't feel like doing much else after a long walk! You can tell he's back up to speed after his operation in January!

Hope today is a good day for all.

Beechnut Tue 30-Mar-21 07:35:09

Sad news about a much loved Pinchy.

BlueSapphire Tue 30-Mar-21 07:39:19

Good morning from a very bright and sunny Northampton. Looks set to be a lovely day, so shall cut the grass and then take my book into the garden to sit and read, as I did yesterday afternoon. The first time I've not needed a fleece on. The cats enjoyed half an hour or so in the sunshine, but then went and sat by the back door, ready to go back in!

Will change the bed this morning and put a wash on and that's my only other plan for today. May sit outside with my morning coffee.

Sad to hear the news about Pinchy, and also hope the new bull can be sorted out, Sheep.

DS is excited as he's having his first jab on Thursday - we must be ahead of the game here, as he's only 42! He is popping around sometime today, as he's picking up the Easter eggs for the DGDs, so I must have them ready in the front porch.

Enjoy the sunshine today, everyone.

Marydoll Tue 30-Mar-21 07:46:44

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where its 9°C, no heatwave here.

Nothing at all to report at all and nothing planned for today.

Sorry to hear worrying news from Sar and sheepandcattle. ?

For all those with activities planned today, enjoy, but remember to keep safe!

Grandmabatty Tue 30-Mar-21 07:47:46

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 11° and a mix of clouds and blue skies. It feels warm this morning.
Mick enjoy your outing. I like the sound of the cakes and hot cross buns! Ashcombe what a lovely photo. Grandmattie enjoy your Tai Chi. I think it sounds very peaceful in a churchyard. Sheepandcattle sad news for you. Poor wee Pinchy. I hope the bull situation is resolved. Gelisajams a busy day for you in the garden.
Yesterday dsil was taken to hospital with chest pains and breathing difficulty. After lots of tests, he was sent home. At least he knows it isn't cardiac problems but he has been unwell since January. More tests are forecast. I am babysitting again today. I think we will go to a local park and let the boy loose on the sandpit and various toys. He refused to nap yesterday so it was a long day! There might be a trip to the fish man first. Have a good day all.

cornergran Tue 30-Mar-21 07:51:49

Morning Mick, morning All from a misty corner of Somerset. Sunshine is promised, hooray.

Chauffeur duty for me this morning. Mr C has physio and then his covid jab. Must remember my book although a nap while I wait is more than possible.

Sad news about Pinchy sheepandcattle, you couldn’t have done more. The bull must be worrying and annoying in equal parts. Hope today gives better news. Understand your desire to be out and about Mick, take care. Your day sounds wonderful nankate, enjoy every moment.

Take care everyone, hope Tuesday is kind to us all.

grandMattie Tue 30-Mar-21 07:54:12

Oh, sheep, how very sad about brave little Pinchy. It must have been hard for you.
Regarding your bull, I hope something can be sorted out. It sounds that you prefer a bull to AI.

grandMattie Tue 30-Mar-21 07:55:22

Oh, and in case anyone thinks it’s going to be tropic here, it’s not. We’re promised about 18C.
