Good Morning Everyone,
Its another twilight start here in Brackley this morning but remains dry.
Yesterdays trip out went OK , called in the bakery shop I use when there cafe is open and got some Hot X buns .
Did a small shop in Sainsburys , anyway noticed the lack of new potatoes on the shelves ,normally by now we would have Jerseys royals on the shelves but nothing yet .
I brought myself a new paper shredder , people were out as seats in the town centre were busy .
Take Care,
Mick

Good news about Bogdon the bull, sad news that the intrepid Marydoll is still feeling awful, lots of cheerful entries about walks and cakes and sunshine - much information to absorb. We celebrated yesterday by asking our neighbours for tea in the garden and it was so lovely to chat sitting down after months of conversations on pavements and doorsteps.

The sunshine has tempted DH it try to dress himself but as he has achieved two vests but no pullover I need to intervene. Shall take advantage of the weather to wash and dry two quilted bedspreads and hope to read in the garden later.

One of favourite winter drinks is Jamieson's whiskey with green ginger wine ooh that sounds warming Grandmabatty I will try that sometime! Himself has a bottle of Jamiesons on the hall table. My mum (years ago) used to like a whisky and dry ginger. I think it was a popular drink back in the day. With or without an ‘e’ (thank you for that I will remember from now on!). Along with Cinzano and lemonade (ugh!). And a glass of de Kuypers cherry brandy at Christmas (sticky!).

Marydoll yesterday must have been difficult in many ways. I think you are very brave.

Good morning from Nottinghamshire. It’s lovely to read of everyone’s exploits in the sun - commiserations to those still waiting for it to get its hat on!
Brook, I hope you get your car sorted. Mysterious noises are troubling. I once had a noise in my car investigated and it turned out to be the Mickey Mouse ears on the ariel vibrating at a certain speed! Talk about embarrassed.
White wine and risotto, Pantglas. Perfect reward for your hard work.
We had a lovely day in the garden with our daughter, we even had to put the sunshade up. We just chatted and watched the birds. A long day for her, but we wanted so much to see each other.
Marydoll, you have been so brave telling your family the truth. It is impossible to keep up the ‘I’m fine’ for ever, and it does create a small barrier between you; now you can be honest about how you’re feeling each day and share the bad days as well as the good.
Fingers crossed for a bit more sunshine for us all.

Good Morning everyone from a FOGGY South of France!
I am outraged ?. Never seen fog here. Glanced at the screen as I was going to bed last night. Garden views seemed to suggest we were under water! Reassuring? No, so I opened a window expecting rain. No. We’d had such a wonderful day with the best weather although I never mind rain at night. This morning confirms I was looking at thick swirling fog.....still with us but sunshine back after lunch, apparently.

Have such a Happy Birthday, Gelisa ???. And enjoy Windermere ?‍♂️.

Good Simnel cake, Mattie. Can see isolation has perhaps made you more discerning? Move swiftly away from people who get on your nerves...good plan. Life is full of lovely people, let’s not waste time on those who aren’t. A cow named Iris, sheep. What a good idea, bet she’ll love that bit of news. So glad that B the Bull’s poorly foot has been spotted/treated. No wonder he was off colour. Have a happy time with your long lost family and meanwhile Bon courage with the raucous mums and lambs. You’ll be glad of a sit down after that job, I’m sure. ?

Fingers crossed for your DH, Sar. Hope it turns out to be something minor/caught early. Try not to worry.

Some lovely walks going on and family gatherings. How lovely to hear such cheery reports and excitement. And you mostly have good weather......shows you deserve some good stuff for a change.

I received late night confirmation asking me to arrive in good time for my 2nd vaccine next week. I’ve been all on thorns that they might cancel it, but seems they do have vaccine for that. I’m so ? pleased. Today’s the day we’ll probably hear what the Emperor has planned for the foreseeable. So, tomorrow things may be ok or I may just be in a major sulk. Whatever he announces, don’t think it’ll be happy news.

Meanwhile in the real world, chores are waiting and I’m going to do some re-potting today, sunshine or no.

Keep safe lovely peeps, try to enjoy what you can and hurl money into the swear box if that plan doesn’t work. ( Think I’m going to end up very rich at the rate I’m going?)
Speaking of very rich, did anyone watch The Syndicate? What on earth has Neil Morrisey done to his face? I saw him on The One Show, recently. That top lip! Fillers? Obviously too much mirror gazing time in lockdown. And yes, I’m off for my saucer of milk now. (Must follow those GN rules...be kind.)

Big hugs and thoughts to all missing posters and those I’ve missed this morning. Have a better day today all those poorly or worried or struggling. Always thinking of you. x

Good morning everyone, hazy here in the Gower today.

Yesterday was gorgeous so we went out and about, in the opposite direction to a large majority of people! It was clear that the coast was packed. We paid a visit to two garden centres instead. They were busy enough ?. We bought a couple of new bird feeders, two rose plants and sweet pea seeds. I think (and hope) we might have last found a bird feeder that the thwarts the pigeons, gutsy mites ?. My WP will be in his element today burying the roses and tinkering with the seed trays ?. I'll keep watch ? and drink tea, after cleaning the fridge properly after yesterday's juice spillage ?

Thank you Susan, Lins and Auntieflo for your well wishes. I hope I'm going to be okay for the rest of the week ?. I hope you're feeling okay after your treatment Auntieflo.

Happy Birthday Gelisajams ?? ??????? ?

Happy birthday to your respective DGC Grammaretto and Gwenisgreat

To those of you meeting up with family or friends enjoy your day ?
Hope it goes well today for those of you with medical appointments.
Stay safe and wear a ? today everybody ❤️

Good morning from a sunny NE.
DH had to travel to the next city for his appoinment yesterday and when he arrived they told him they had cancelled the appointment and he should have received a letter. He had not received any letter and he is so ill the nurses had a debate with the doctor who agreed to see him anyway. What a shambles.
I cleaned the windows and enjoyed being outside, first time out for over two weeks.
Enjoy the spell of good weather.

ginny Wed 31-Mar-21 09:34:24

Good morning all from north Surrey where the sun is shining and another warm day is promised.
I came home shattered after a few hours looking after DGDs age 3 and 6 months, only had them on my own for couple of hours but stayed for their tea, bath and bedtime. Goodness knows what I’ll be like when mum goes back to work and I am doing a full day but not for a few months yet.
Was up early today and had my PT session, very quick skim read of posts so will need to have a proper read later.
Today is change bedding and clean the bedroom then off to mum and dad’s.
Hopefully fit in some gardening this afternoon and we are going to have BBQ to make the most of today’s weather, just burgers and sausages. Boys will be arriving early evening, they will probably want some too.
Thoughts to all the GM posters who are having a difficult time at the moment ? and hoping today is a better day ??

Marydoll Wed 31-Mar-21 09:40:34

Thank you all you lovely people, I'm not brave at all, just blooming raging at what this invidious and destructive RA is silently, stealthily and invidiously doing to me!

It has been exhausting, covering up. My friends were concerned that I was avoiding them, thought I didn't want their friendship and it was making things worse, when I actually needed them. However, being the special friends they are, they never gave up on me!
I thought I was protecting my family, but I wasn't. They have been worried sick, not knowing is worse.

Most of my life was spent looking after my elderly, (married late in life) demanding and cold parents and I didn't want that life for my own children.
So here is my advice, Carpe Diem, don't waste a moment of your life and make the best of what you have.
I would never verbalise this to anyone, so thank you you for indulging me!

On a lighter note, we have no bread, so I have just instructed MrMD (lots of huffing and puffing) on how to use the breadmaker. That was first and hopefully not the last! grin.
We are under a new regime. I wonder how long before the troops rebel and there is a coup! ?

GrannyGravy13 Wed 31-Mar-21 09:41:35

Marydoll I do think this pandemic has made a fair few of us contemplate our own mortality. You dear lady have been very brave keeping the extent of your illnesses to yourself, it’s now time to share your load with family and friends who love you dearly ????

baubles Wed 31-Mar-21 09:49:57

Marydoll, I took so long typing my post that yours appeared in the interim. It’s a good thing to have shared the extent of your illness with your family and friends, you shouldn’t carry that burden alone.

You are one brave woman. flowers

It's a beautiful morning here in York's Marydoll it must have been a hard day for you yesterday but you have done it now hope it's a weight off your shoulders .
Happy birthday Gelisjam ??.It's lovely to hear people are meeting up ,but I must confess to feeling a bit jealous I shake myself and tell myself it's only 2weeks some some people have a lot longer .
Have a good day ???

Grandmafrench Wed 31-Mar-21 09:52:40

Sun out like magic.Deep blue skies, no more fog.
grandmajet what are you like? ? ?
I heartily second your comment to Mary. Have an easy day with your Blackpool illuminations, Marydoll, one of your lovely family will be able to locate some buns - no need for tiring times in the kitchen. Save your energy for supervising! ?
Cherry your sense of humour trumps everything. Hugs to you.
harri the moment I hear “should have”, my hackles are up and fire-breathing is imminent. So pleased that compassion and actual common sense saved your DH’s day. ??

dustyangel Wed 31-Mar-21 10:00:59

Good morning all, a much brighter day but very windy and the question is do I sweep up the orange sand left by a five minute shower yesterday,(that tanker must have shifted a lot of dust) or wait for the promised downpour tomorrow?

grandmajet Wed 31-Mar-21 10:26:10

hello Just checking I’ve learned to do bold!
Can’t get strike through though! Can anyone help?

CherryCezzy Wed 31-Mar-21 10:32:41

Marydoll, for once I have no tales to tell (probably a relief to some readers). Yes, but only because you had the rest you need! You did the difficult but necessary thing yesterday telling your family the depths of your illness ???????

Grandmafrench, you know what they say (whoever they are) - it's important to have sense and it's good to have humour ?. Thank you for the hug, you are always so kind ?

Blossoming Wed 31-Mar-21 10:33:39

Good morning all, another sunny day in Lancashire. I slept well last night, hope things are now settling down again. Or maybe it’s because I didn’t climb any ladders. Mr. B bought some hot cross buns with apple and cinnamon yesterday. We had them for tea last night, It was so hot here we didn’t feel like eating a heavy meal.

Glad people mostly enjoyed their trips out yesterday, I really do feel more hopeful this week.

Marydoll Wed 31-Mar-21 10:36:33

grandmajet use these symbols -- on either side of the sentence/ word you wish to strike through. No spaces on either side of the word, but spaces between the symbols. - -.

Oldbutstilluseful Wed 31-Mar-21 10:36:56

Marydoll you may be raging but you are also very brave. RA is a dreadful disease. The relief you must feel after taking the hard step of telling your family must be immense. You’ve given them the opportunity to spoil you, and no doubt they will be doing so with gusto.

It’s a cloudy but warm day in North Hampshire. To my delight as I’m really not at all green fingered, some seeds that are being nurtured on my windowsill have started to grow! Now I feel encouraged to plant some more. I just wish I enjoyed gardening like so many of you, but sadly, as most of my efforts seemed doomed to failure, I’ve just never got the hang of it. Now I need to find out what to do with them next!

Wishing you all, wherever you are, a good day and a riot of flamingos ??

gillgran Wed 31-Mar-21 10:39:22

Good morning to you all from a sunny, warm Cambs.,

Kalu Wed 31-Mar-21 10:39:46

Marydoll, you made the right decision telling friends and family what your situation is. It saddens me this is something you have had to do dear friend. ?
