Got me. grin Brilliant FannyC, only you would come up with this.

suziewoozie Thu 01-Apr-21 10:37:21

I think it’s critical that people use critical thinking rather than just launch in with criticism

Squiffy Thu 01-Apr-21 10:49:38

Damn!!! winkgrin

GagaJo Thu 01-Apr-21 10:50:41

Only swear words came to mind when I saw that title!

Well done.

Ah! I'm glad to have raised a few smiles (and apologies for any blood pressure raised)

Thank you so much for all of the 'welcome backs', thanksI weighed up the pros and the cons; and the company of you lovely people won smile

There are those who swore....and those who thought “oh goody”!

Daisymae Thu 01-Apr-21 11:41:02

How ? Or is it confidential ?

JenniferEccles Thu 01-Apr-21 12:06:11

I guess the most famous April Fool joke was the BBC’s spaghetti tree broadcast in 1957

I can’t imagine them doing anything similar now.

Polarbear2 Thu 01-Apr-21 12:11:36

I read it at 12.10. Does it still count. Brilliant btw. Reeled me in ?

Ro60 Thu 01-Apr-21 12:12:14

My GD and her class left an April Fool for the teacher to find this morning.

Does anyone remember the programme called Candid Camera in the early 60’s? I think maybe there was also a more up to date version but I remember it in the 60’s.

I remember one episode with a large fish tank in a shop which had several gold fish swimming around. The actor had a very thin slice of carrot concealed in his hand and when an unsuspecting customer came in the shop he would dip his hand in the tank, wiggle the sliver of carrot around and pretend he’d lifted out a goldfish and stuffed it in his mouth and swallowed it. I was about 7 years old and I was horrified!

Gannygangan Thu 01-Apr-21 16:07:10

I saw that, Grannynannywanny!

I've not forgotten it either!

Blinko Thu 01-Apr-21 16:32:54

Brilliant! ???

Nicegranny Thu 01-Apr-21 16:38:44

Ha ! You got me ? FannyC

I’ve been looking for you on night owls so I’m glad to see you here ?

Grandmajean Thu 01-Apr-21 16:46:50

Saw the spaghetti tree one. Heard another about a Dad who never managed to get caught out by his family until the April 1st ( it was a Sunday ) when he went to get a newspaper and found only Bank of Toytown money in his wallet !

suziewoozie Thu 01-Apr-21 17:46:25

Anybody remember the wonderful Island of San Serif ?

annodomini Thu 01-Apr-21 18:06:26

The Guardian's best, SW. I hadn't heard of serifs at that time, so was caught out until I noticed the date.

A friend worked in an FE College at the time and her HOD was a geographer, he was completely taken in all day. ?

Good to see you back after your break FC. Hope all is well.

You’re wicked.

I too remember watching the spaghetti harvest.

France 1972 the health minister caused an uproar by announcing that smoking in public places was forbidden.....35 years later is was no joke for some
