Good Morning Good Friday
(79 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
Its still twilight here in Brackley this morning , but its dry .
Did Buckingham on the bus yesterday , but it was quieter than expected.
Did a walk about , the cafe I usually visit was not open for take aways so got a bag of chips from the local chippy , before returning home .
Today, small shop , and have a easy day.
Take Care,
Mick
Good morning Mick and All.
Thank you Ashcombe for posting the Good Friday picture and words. There is usually a procession down our High Street depicting the events of GF and then a Service in the Park. Sadly this won’t happen for a second year running.
Not a lot going on for us today other than the tennis from Miami for me and gardening for DH.
? to anyone who feels wobbly today.
Good Friday morning to you all ?
We have eldest GD visiting today as she’s home from Uni for a couple of weeks. Can’t wait to see her. DD and other GC will pop in to see her. We’ll have hot x buns for elevensies and sausage baps for lunch. ?.Let’s hope it’s not too chilly. A mini Easter egg hunt for the 5 yr old. ?. I’d like to get a chiminea, but I worry about the littlies getting too close.
The gd’s I haven’t seen for a while (as they live in another county), had an Easter treat in their garden last night. An enchanted igloo with lights , a heater, tv , beds . The girls with mum and dad were sleeping under the stars all night. It’s a sort of ‘glass’ construction, so just like camping out. Ive never heard of the like! ?. The things they think of these days! ?.
DH played golf yesterday to ‘try himself out’. He managed 14 holes but was shattered when he got home. Hopefully he’ll gradually get stronger ?.
Wishing you all a Happy Easter. ???
Good morning from an overcast Northampton, feeling chilly again, and it's forecast to be like this for the weekend.
DD is coming over today at some time to take me to the garden centre; I have several empty pots awaiting new plants. Then she is going for her riding lesson at a local stables which has re-opened this week. She will then come and pick me up to spend the weekend with them, (which is allowed as we are in a bubble together). Must gather a few things together to take with me. Hope she's got some hot cross buns!
Hoping all have a pleasant day.
Hello Mary what a beautiful Easter wreath ?
Good morning from a grey skied Colchester. A dry chilly day today.
DS is home for the long weekend so I have his uniform to launder.
DH and DS have a few jobs to do around the house. We have no Easter plans as the weather isn't going to be good enough for garden visits and most places will be busy, so we are still being cautious and waiting for people to go back to work on Tuesday before venturing far.
Much love to all x
Hello to you Kate. I haven't forgotten you my Sassenach friend!
Grandmajet, I'm sorry to hear your news and it will be difficult to talk to your family. However, the sooner you can share your burden, the better. Keeping it all to yourself, does not help either your mental nor physical wellbeing. ?
Please take a leaf from my book and let all your fears out on here, where our friends can be so supportive and kind.
Good morning from a dull and cloudy Black Country.
Not long back from Sainsburys as I left early give car it's 3 monthly fill up of Petrol. Then popped in the store for a few bits and bobs.
No real plans today except for baking and making a Lasagne.
Grandmajet sorry you are going through this. What a decision to have to make
Wishing you all a very Good Friday.
Good morning have a good Friday everyone from a beautiful sunny start to the day here on the east coast of Fife. And it’s another briefing today from our first minister. Good news I hope. My poor Dh has more pain after his recent fall it’s in his chest this time and I think it could be a broken rib. What carry on to get a gp appointment on line he’s ready to chuck his lap top out, the booking system doesn’t recognise his symptoms.
Sorry to hear your troubles grandmajet hope you can focus on the positive outcomes from others in a similar position. Lots of love to you and yours
Have a good Friday everyone save yourselves for your Easter Sunday lunch hold back on the chocolate
Morning Mick, morning All. It’s a chilly, cloudy start to our corner of Somerset, the wind has dropped a little, always welcome.
A very breezy beach walk yesterday after returning Mr C’s heart monitor. One lead had become detached in the night, no idea if that mattered, time will tell. There’s still a need to get to grips with a new on line bank account, I’m about two thirds of the way there. Other than finishing that task no idea how the day will progress here. Quietly I think although I’m tempted by the thought of a garden centre.
What a positive step, or pedal, forward for your husband gagagran, good news if unsettling when he disappeared. I’m sorry you’ve so much to cope with and a huge decision to make grandmajet, of course share with us if you’d like to. Your post made me think marydoll, I know where battery lamps and torches are stashed, suspect Mr C would have no idea.
Take care everyone, wishing you all a peaceful day.
Good morning Mick and and all from a blue skyed, sunny S Welsh coast. A cup of tea and an M&S hot cross bun for breakfast here. We had our Easter meet up with family yesterday, it was warm enough to sit in the garden in the afternoon.
Good to read of your better day and planned meet up with your family dragonfly.
Gagagran good to hear that your husband is better, an 8 mile cycle ride, that's impressive.
A difficult decision for you grandmajet.
Hope * Cherry* is better over there across the Bay.
Take care everyone.
Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s grey and chilly this morning.
I need to pop to town this morning then do the ironing. Church this afternoon. It is the first time it’s been open for quite a while.
Grandmajet I hope your conversations can help you to decide what to do. Thinking of you. Choices are hard.
Wishing everyone a Happy Easter. Stay safe.
Good morning all. -2° in Polmont this morning and like Baubles the frost is sparkling on the garden and the cars are iced up. Beautiful blue skies too. I am very glad I resisted the urge to plant seeds outside. Ds gave me some seeds for my birthday last year of wild flowers and I am keen to throw them on the bed in the front and in the raised beds at the back. However now is not the time. I have no need to go anywhere and the heating is on.
Marydoll the wreath is lovely. Your future Dil is very creative. I made an Easter wreath out of wool and fabric which hangs in the dining room. Grammaretto I hope the decorating goes well. My sitting room could do with being freshened up. Grandmajet? it sounds like you have a difficult decision to make and it can't be easy. Gagagran that's really good news about your dh. He's obviously feeling much better. Brooke I haven't been at the Highland Wildlife Park for a long time. I think it's near Aviemore? Grandmattie that's a shame about the hot cross buns. Maybe they just need a bit of warmth to get them going -like me! I bought hot cross buns yesterday from Aldi and only when I got them home and ready to have one, did I see they were rhubarb and custard! I ate one anyway.
Today will be a quiet one. I intend to do some housework and get a washing hung out. Apart from that, nothing is planned and I'll see how the day goes. I hope you have a good day all.
Good morning from chilly West Berkshire. A lazy day today for me as DH is working today and tomorrow as it's a busy time of year for his industry.
I'll make some soup and hot cross buns I think whilst listening to an audio book . I'll also poach some salmon for dinner to have cold later with some Jersey Royals from Waitrose.
Mick you could always have a day out on the bus to Royal Berkshire to get some until they find their way to your branch
Have a good day and keep safe .
Good morning Mick and all his followers.
Suffolk is grey and cool at the moment. A small part of our bubble are coming for an egg hunt and lunch on Sunday but DiL is vegan, so I need to shop. I have ordered some clothes for the DGC to keep here for visits, which will be at Sainsbugs for collection. Their 18 year old big sister doesn’t get the idea of ‘something warm because we are gardening or going to the park etc’ , so I have ordered a sweatshirt and trousers each.
Then today’s the day for the pressure washer. All swept and cleared in readiness. Guess whose new garden furniture is on a ship which is queuing up the wrong side of Suez ??
GG that sounds like real progress - very heartwarming for you. Grandmajet I am sure you will get the advice to help you make a decision.
I hope the day is kind to everyone.
That is hard GrandmaJet I hope talking to your family will help.
Good morning Auntyflo and all x
Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside, northwest Lancashire coast.
I do like the Easter wreaths, in fact I like them more than a Christmas wreath, well done.
Out later to a 2.00 service at church, first physical visit for quite some time, feel edgy. At least it’s made me shape up dress wise and comb my hair?
No meat today. Just had two bananas for my breakfast, trying, trying to lose a little weight.
Will read through later and thoughts to Marydoll, Cherry, Dragonfly, Auntieflo and anyone with things on their mind.
Good to hear your oh is improving a 8 Mike is good going Gaga.
Grandmajet a big decision it's good to be able to discuss op with others.
Oh had to text to make appt for second jab he had to refuse it due to shielding and he said he had appointment for the 17th and was told appt was not valid now very disappointing because we now have to ring next week to see if there is any left from recent batch .Sorry for moan .Hope everyone has a good Friday ???
Grandmajet, just spotted your post and send you a hug. God bless ?
Good morning from a bright frosty Morecambe Bay.
Glad to hear your DH is feeling so much stronger Gagagran
But sorry to hear Grandmajet has such a difficult decision to make.
If the frost melts soon I shall wander into the garden. I noticed a few weeds appearing through the mulch yesterday.
This afternoon we have a Good Friday service on a field owned by the church. Other than that not a lot to do. Take care and stay safe everyone ???
Good morning*Mick*, Annie, and all.
What a beautiful wreath your DIL to be, has made Marydoll, and sorry to hear that you are still feeling rubbish. I send my love to you and hope that soon you will be firing on all cylinders again.
I have a had couple of rubbish days as well, so must catch upon all the news later. I even allowed DH out on his own to do the shopping! , especially as shopping has been my weekly highlight of late. Still, he took a list, and stuck to it. Well done.
I must just add a well done to my GP for his long phone call to me yesterday morning, and an unexpected follow up in the evening.
Grandmajet, that is a hard decision you have to make, but you will get lots of support on here. Blessings to you.
Thank you for the picture Ashcombe. Hoping your DH is OK.
Ginster, that holiday experience looks and sounds wonderful. Lucky family.
Well done to Gagagran's DH for his round the block escapade. 8 miles is a long way.
I am envious of the beautiful work shown, and will add a picture of my bunnies and ducks, crocheted in the front window. There is also the small wreath that I made last year. The only thing is that all the houses opposite are reflected in my window! Oh well, I did pop out in my dressing gown to snap it, and didn't want to frighten the neighbours with my bed hair.
To Gillybob, on Friday, sending a YAY.
To all who are poorly, sending best wishes. Is Cherry alright?
Have a lovely weekend one and all.
Grandmajet a hard choice, hopefully chatting with others who have been there will provide guidance ?
Pretty wreaths you creative bods!
