Good morning from North Yorkshire. No sunshine today and it’s bit cold.
I had a lovely day yesterday walking along the beach to Saltburn. We had lunch in the pub garden. All very well organised.
I’m off to the garden centre this morning for some lawn and plant food. Lunch time telephone appointment with a physiotherapist about my arm...this is an urgent appointment I have waited 6 weeks for and my arm is almost better!
Hope all the dentist and apple appointments go well. Good news about Iris, Bogdon and Popeye.

Good a morning everyone from a Sun’s Late Today Just Appearing sort of S of France day.

Dishwasher arrived and installed. Looks superb in the kitchen and behind its newly-painted panel which I prepared earlier! I shall now be motivated to re-paint the rest of the woodwork in there. To avoid ‘overwhelm’ and the occasional odd panic (and because I’m determined to do it myself) I’m going to take out cupboard and drawer fronts just a couple at a time. That would normally make me despair of progress, but I’m going to behave, slow up a little, act my age and not my shoe size. Rome (or The Ancient Seat of Marydoll) was not built in a day. I just don’t want to feel I’ve taken on too much.

So pleased you’ll be able to spend a lovely day with your DB and family, Gingster. Bet your company will make them feel so much better.

To those who are Tooth Fairy visiting today, good luck. Needs must, I know, but I so hate it.

Susan if it’s a new awning, can’t you sell it at a reduced price? We inherited one at our holiday home. It was hardly used because the weight and the wind speed constantly changing meant that we were always concerned it would twist on its mighty fixings and become unusable! Whenever it was extended and weather was very hot, where it was sited meant that any air was trapped underneath..... and we used to roast! We had it taken down, planned to use it instead at our new house - but £500 for new canvas ?? Instead, bought one of those ‘sails’ which we can easily put up from time to time - the nice stainless steel fixings stay on the wall. The incredibly heavy awning went to the dump!

Hope you’re thrilled with your makeover, Brook. If you don’t post today cherry and things haven’t improved, I’ve had some thoughts which might kickstart sorting out your neighbour problem. (Sounds like a job for Ash’s “Stresspils”)?

Yesterday we finished off rejigging the part of the front garden between the drive and the path. DH laid a few slabs making the path into an L shape to join up the path and drive while the remaining space between them is now a rockery which I think will be really nice once the plants spread a little.

Today’s excitement will be the Sainsbury’s delivery then I’ll make a large pot of chilli, half of which I’ll take to DS tomorrow.

Good luck to the grans seeing dentists, doctors and Apple geniuses. Wishing everyone a peaceful day.

Scentia the last weeks of pregnancy are not easy going even without having added concerns and a cling on toddler.

maybe in another life that's where my life should have been.
Builders finished yest now waiting for skip and scaffolding to go and in honesty could do with a couple of nights of rainfall to wash everything down before we start cleaning and get outside ready summer.
All GCs (4) here after school do hope scaffolding has gone as keeping them confined in our little house last week was shall we say " challenging " if not then a walk into woods will entertain their late stay.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Cloudy in South Yorkshire this morning. My adventure with the new hairdresser turned out to be a pleasure. She's lovely and certainly knows her stuff. I think she's a keeper! She gave me a very good cut. Turns out she was in the year above my daughter at the same school.
Like Urmstongran we are off to the Genius Bar at Apple too today, but to see if they can put a new battery in my iPad which won't charge. It has died from a surfeit of Gransnet I think?! Only problem is, we have to go to Meadowhall. I hate it, and it will take up most of the day including getting there and back.
Sheep it's good to have you back with us and feeling more yourself. With the weight of responsibility your farm brings, I'm not I surprised it gets on top of you from time to time. I hope we get some rain for the farmers round here too.

Good morning all from a cloudy but warmish North Leicestershire. We haven't had any April showers yet and it's almost May!

The decorators finished yesterday so I can start putting stuff back in the downstairs loo. The hall will have to wait for the floor which is being laid next week.

DH has his 2nd jab this morning and I have my Sainsbury's shop to complete.

Yesterday, I signed up for 2 on line Carer's Support Groups but there is the aim of having real live ones from the end of June. I can't wait to meet real live Carers again and see my co-workers.

We had a lovely day yesterday looking after DGS1.He has grown up a lot in just a few weeks.It usually takes him a few days to settle into nursery after having his mummy and daddy home for the school holidays but on Monday he ran in happily.His talking is getting better by the day, latest catchphrases are oh my goodness and actually grandma!

The saga of the awning continues.I knew DH had something on his mind.He isn’t happy with how heavy it is and doesn’t want to put it up so today we will be looking for a large garden parasol instead.It looks like the awning will be going to the tip?I don’t think we can return it as there is nothing wrong with it just DH not happy with it?Oh well, c’est la vie!

Morning all from a 6c south coast. That's the warmest it's been for some time and the sky is bright and clear. Still needing some rain but nothing in the forecast. My poor hydrangeas are looking crispy.

The builders were on site from 7.30am to 6.45 pm yesterday and worked really hard. They put new rafters in the garages and laid all but one of the thick polycarbonate sheets which form the new roof. They will be back today to fit the last sheet, fall pipe and guttering and build up the parapet at the front.

Glad to hear that Iris is doing so well. She will feel very odd when the cage is finally removed and might think she is going to float away!

Good morning Mick and all from a sunny Wiltshire. I haven’t posted for a while as I’ve been feeling quite overwhelmed and anxious, mostly about the farm and, when I feel like that, I tend to retreat into myself. However, I’m feeling more positive now. The good news is that Bogdon the bull is now hugely improved - I think the horrid abscess he had in his hoof just took longer to heal than any of us realised. It does leave the problem that, since buying Nobby, we now have 2 bulls where we only need one, but it’s a nicer dilemma than having a very sick bull. Popeye the lamb is well. She won’t ever be able to see out of her injured eye but she’ll manage well with just the one seeing eye. She has turned into a real character - she’s weaned off the bottle now but still likes to climb onto my lap for a cuddle when I’m feeding the others! She won’t ever be leaving the farm! I can’t remember if I wrote about Olive the lamb before? She is a lamb that developed a spinal abscess when she was 3 weeks old which left her paralysed in all legs. She has been having a long course of antibiotics and has slowly been gaining feeling back in her legs. She can now, after 3 weeks, walk with me just supporting her hips. I hope that she’ll soon be independently walking. It’s been a long slog but hopefully she’ll have a good outcome.
We are desperately short of grass here as no rain for ages. Its a big worry.
Other than farm news, I had a flying trip to Gloucester at the weekend to finally see GD1 and GS and my youngest son and DiL. It was such a joy to spend the day with them all in their garden. I hadn’t seen them since September so it was all the more special. Lucky me!

Good morning from north Surrey. Bit misty, murky out and forecast says not so warm today.
What a busy thread yesterday morning. Took me ages to catch up with everyone’s news and of course today I can’t remember who did what.
Sat out in the sunshine with mum and dad, they have a lovely little sun trap at the front of their bungalow which is in a side road, it is a quiet area but lots of interest from the birds and there are neighbours around and they are on a bus route so it all keeps them entertained.
On the way home we decided to do a big Supermarket shop. We never go together, not even pre Covid, so it made a change to do together.
DH washed car and then used the pressure washer to clean the buggy and high chair ready for when the youngest DGD comes to stay.
This morning I have PT and then booked to go the gym for half hour session on the bike. Home for breakfast and a shower and then meeting up with DS’s partner and DGDs for a walk and picnic.
Boys here tonight, mum usually brings them round after their tea so fun with them before bed.
Stil a few missing posters, hope all is well with them. Cherry I do hope you can find a solution to your problem neighbour, for both her and you. Auntieflo I hope your pain relief is working. Hope the antibiotics are working for Iris and the consultant appointment went well. Scentia what a lovely mum you are, hope that baby decides to come soon

Good morning everyone from a dry and somewhat chilly south Manchester. I wondered why the Union flag at the church over the way was flying at full mast again then remembered it was HMTQ 95th birthday today. Her grandson Harry didn’t stay one extra day for it - he’s already in California. I like the saying about that place ... ‘when god shook the Tree of Life all the nuts fell there’. I heard that so many years ago & for some reason it stuck!

We are off to the Trafford Centre later to buy my new iPad. I have an appointment at the Genius Bar. They will set everything up for me & transfer all data across. Excellent. Then we are taking my stepfather to M&S Simply Food while we all get some groceries.

Good news indeed about Iris grandMattie. ?

Good morning from Essex by the sea where it is again foggy. It didn't lift all day yesterday and we could hear the eerie sound of the ship's fog horns out in the estuary.
I have the second part of my deep cleaning at the dentist at 9, not something I am looking forward to.
DH is going to London to meet up with 3 ex work colleagues, the first time he will have seen them for nearly a year.
Later this morning I need to go and buy birthday cards and I think I will have a look in the charity shop if it is open. I have bags of things to donate but first I need to find out if they are accepting donations.

Good morning, everyone, from Torbay where the sun looks as if it will soon overcome the cloud!

Last night we had a Zoom theatre committee meeting in which we discussed how reopening of our premises will occur. Government requires us to have QR signs or other means of Track and Trace in place until at least late September.

This morning I’ve been invited to participate in a special Zoom for a lady who is 100 years old! She is the mother of a friend from primary school and was a close friend of my late mother. Now in a care home, she has survived Covid and a broken hip in the past year! The Zoom depends on her son, the host, passing his lateral flow test this morning.

It’s so good to read of the days out being enjoyed by quite a few and I hope Marydoll had a trip without mishap......?It’s very encouraging news about dear Iris, grandMattie. What an example of courage in one so young!

Let’s hope for more lovely weather to enable us all to benefit from the chance to venture out if we are well enough. Enjoy whatever today brings! ?
