Congratulations to Glammagran (and family). A new GS is indeed welcome and will bring so much happiness. Even makes me feel joyful so thanks for that too.

Morning all from a frosty covered West Yorks with sun shining through bright blue sky,hopefully ideal day to start much needed tidy and wash down outside (if the skip goes as promised 3days ago).
Grandmattie your photo has set me planning,yours will be a delight when flowers get established.
Harri such a worry knowing how/what to tempt your husband into eating.Remember yrs ago nursing MIL who only wanted custard or rice pudding and would not entertain anything else.Took a good few weeks to wean her onto nutritious foods then very small baby portions.
We must sort through contents of loft, be utterly ruthless and make donation to charity shop.I am so sentimental with possessions bought over many happy yrs that only feels like yest.
Take care all and thoughts of those with illness and worry.

Morning all from a 3.3c south coast. Bright and sunny again but the pesky easterly air flow is keeping it cool.

The builders have just arrived and might finish today. They got the roof panels on yesterday but spent ages doing all the fiddly bits involved. Such hard workers! I have been most impressed. Several neighbours have been and admired their work and a couple are interested in having their garages revamped too but John, our builder, is booked solid until October so is not doing any quotes at the moment.

DH is having another run out with his bike club this morning and is looking forward to managing to go a bit further each time as his strength builds up again. He did 20+ miles last week and thinks he can do more today.

We got the second quote for the new CH boiler, at last, yesterday but it is considerably higher than the first quote and has taken a lot of getting so I think the first one will get the contract. He was my favourite anyway!

Good morning all from a sunny but chilly Wiltshire. Reading through your posts it struck me how lovely it is to hear about your trips out, shopping and family meet-ups - so different from a year ago where the main topics were where best to get online grocery shops and wiping down shopping when it did arrive. We’ve all had a difficult year for sure.
All is well on the farm except still no rain therefore very little grass . Luckily we still have plenty of hay left to supplement what little grazing there is but the cattle aren’t happy. Usually they are knee deep in lovely spring grass this time of year, now they have bowling greens! Oh for a few good April showers !
I’ve been doing as much in the garden as I can find time to do. My elderly parents are coming to stay on 17th May, all being well, and they really enjoy the garden as they now live in a flat so I’d like it to look it’s best. 10 years ago the garden was just a lawn and now it’s a riot of flower beds so lots to maintain.
I’ve attached a photo of my ‘special needs’ lambs - Popeye, Olive, Sweet pea and Arthur enjoying the sunshine. My favourite times of the day are spent hanging out with these guys!

Good Morning everyone! Off out in the sunshine to my Hairdresser. Needs doing but at least we have had hairdressing access for months now, so no need for the good citizens to hide indoors as I stroll past!

That little babba in that hat - how gorgeous. And I so want to go to Scotland again. Those views!

But let patience be my watchword. Wishing you a happy Thursday and not too much bizzyness. Will catch up with a warm croissant and coffee later.

Morning all from a glorious north Wales where we’ve been promised ? for the whole weekend, so kind of LauraNorder to share her island weather with us here on the mainland!

I’m trotting to Tesco later for a small shop and have a confession to make, to Litterpicker - I buy the Sourdough Bread Mix to make the odd loaf! ?. It’s one of easiest/tastiest loaves and slices effortlessly.

I’m like Nigella - having to tend to a SD culture each day would be like having another baby and not something I want to commit to at my age!

Life is getting rather exciting for me at the moment. I have bought myself a little house (semi) on the Merseyside in a beautiful little sea side town. My DS2 lives there with his family. I have been wanting to relocate for a while. I shall keep my house here though, as I have 2 sisters and lots of friends living near me. I have an equal love for Britain and Germany.So, now I am just waiting for my 2nd vaccination (which is only at the end of June) and then I shall take my little dog with me to stay for a few month in Britain. I haven`t seen my 2 sons in England for over 1 year. I can`t wait. Have a pleasant day all and if you are not feeling well, I hope that all will improve soon.

Good morning all from bright sun, +2 and a light frost in S Hants. gM a brilliant difference in your garden, couple of months will really see the change. Harri my voluntary work is with a Good Neighbours scheme that provides lifts, you may have a local one? And Mick good to chat with old work colleagues.
My dentist trip was better than I thought, the planned extraction didn’t happen, but a deeper cleaning regime with interdental stix is now down to me. Next appointment early June to bond my top front teeth, 2 hours! My discovery of a forgotten, still in date, credit note from M&S for £32 means I’m going to hit the small food hall later. More watering today, this is an odd April, late frosts and very dry, I’d like a warm summer, but not boiling like last year.
This thread always makes me pause to think of others in a tough place, so I wish all of you a gentle day, with no big bumps in your road.

Exciting news for us. DD2 has had her second baby, a boy yesterday at 6:30am, 2 days late and weighing in at 8lb 2oz. He was born at home, 13 minutes after the midwives arrived so it was a close call. No name yet. We dropped round to see them but only stayed a short while. Our 2 year old DGD is enchanted (so far) with the new arrival.

Lovely weather is forecast so will strike up the bbq later today or tomorrow and spatchcock a chicken. Nice as it is, I’m very aware farmers are desperate for rain. We crossed a field of a recently sown crop on Sunday and the ground was baked hard and cracked.

I hope Cherry has had a disturbance free night. It seems like madness that nothing can be done. Are there other neighbours being disturbed? Would it be possible to record the noise and then use it and report it?

Wishing the very brave Iris a speedy recovery.

Good morning from Shropshire where a sunny day is forecast.

After trekking round several shops we found a parasol we both liked ?DSIL is pretty sure he can put bigger bolts in for the awning but DH doesn’t want it now so DD and family are going to have it.

Gardening for DH today and household jobs for me.I also have to make cupcakes for DGD and mend her princess tent ready for tomorrow.

DGD has been upset as she has had a flare up of eczema.She is very self conscious of it.DD has spent a fortune on various creams, the latest advice is to cut out dairy so now both children are dairy free which is a shame especially as they have a dairy farm and milk is on tap so to speak.A couple of children have asked her what the eczema is which has really upset her so the teacher is going to speak to the class today?

I am glad you were able to get things done yesterday harri while you’re BIL was helping and hope you are able to find something which tempts your DH to eat.

I must be all Zoomed out after four such calls in less than 24 hours, including one with about 20 members of the family and friends of a dear lady celebrating her 100th birthday! She has known me longer than anyone else on Earth as her eldest daughter and I were at primary school together! It was an honour to be part of the group.

My heart goes out to you, harrigran, and I hope you are being helped by the relevant support services. Is “Build Up” still available? I found it very palatable after a post operative infection. Just checked and you can get it prescribed, according to this:-

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s another lovely bright sunny start to the day. Yesterday we enjoyed sunshine all day and quite warm for here - about 14º. More of the same today hopefully
Well I eventually got my hair done yesterday, it feels so much better - your turn today gg13!
I’m another one trying to keep my step count up on my Fitbit dwm it’s a challenge isn’t it. I do enjoy walking though and I’ve set myself a monthly target to aim for

Nothing planned yet today, but now that Scottish restrictions allow travel to England from next week I’m trying to plan a trip and stay somewhere near my DD1 in Cambridge so we can meet up. They’ll be busy working but I could help with the school and nursery run and go out at the weekend. I just need to find a place to stay that’s not already booked up

Don’t worry Sar53 about basal cell carcinoma. Yes it needs treatment but they only grow along the surface of the skin they don’t spread into the deeper dermal layers.

Good morning from Essex by the sea where the sun is trying to shine. Yesterday was cold and very windy.
I had my second hour in the dentist's chair and I am so glad it is now over. A follow up appointment is booked for the end of June. My bank balance will certainly be glad of the respite.
DH received the results of his biopsy yesterday, a Basal Cell carcinoma, he has an appointment at the beginning of June to discuss treatment. Not as serious as DD2's was but worrying all the same.
A supermarket visit this morning, nothing planned for the rest of the day.

Lovely photos - I do love the sea, baubles. I agree that taichinan is clever to remember the moves, I, too, was hopeless even at basic line dancing and gave up quite quickly. I’m sure tai chi would have flummoxed me even more.

baubles, practice. It took me over a year to just manage to get through the first lot of moves. It take time for your brain and muscles to make the memory. Persist, with a patient teacher...

harrigran have you tried smoothies, we use them a lot at work. You can make you own with fruit to his taste and yoghurt/ice cream to give calories. If he isn’t prescribed supplement drinks perhaps you could ask GP to prescribe. You can buy but they are very expensive

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where is already sunny. I can see the Pennines quite clearly and we have a forecast of 17°C today.

I’m off for stroll with my walking buddy at 1pm. We will pick coffees up in the square to take with us. On the last leg home (my road) we pass several bars with outside seating so we may well be tempted to sit and have ‘one for the road’! We shall see.

On my way out I have 3 bags to pass into the charity shop downstairs from my stepfather. He has decided to pass me a couple of bags each week now - my mother was a lover of ornaments and vases and to be honest he isn’t a big fan so after 3 years he said yesterday he feels comfortable with getting rid. Ditto kitchen appliances, CD’s and books as he never uses them, plays nor reads them. He feels at his age (90 next year) he’d like less clutter around him. I can understand.

Good morning from Morecambe Bay where we have another sunny day. A bit cold at the moment but I’m sure it will improve.
Good to hear from Sheep yesterday. I was thinking about her as we drove through Cumbria yesterday.Some of the Herdwick sheep had tiny black lambs and a couple of sheep actually looked to be in labour! All the non Herdwick lambs are quite big now.
It’s a stay home day today after our recent travels! Getting out and about so much has been a shock to the system!
I hope to find time to work on my cross stitch. Just as it was bedtime last night I realised I had been working in the wrong squares so I had to undo a block. It was past midnight when I finished. It’s definitely harder unpicking than stitching. I was terrified of damaging the backing aida.
Special thoughts this morning to Cherry and Harri and to all who are struggling.?
