Good morning from a grey cool E Kent. Yes, we badly need rain but not likely to have any for the next three weeks or so. Already the soil is very dry.
Housework and not much else today.
DH was feeling under the weather from his Pfizer vaxx2, but being him fights it then feels worse. I’ve stopped suggesting that he should take it easy.
Have a good day all, hope a random flamingo ? flies into your lives. ☀️???

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. Dry and sunny and another nice day forecast. Rain possible on Wednesday.

I got a few pottering jobs done yesterday and mostly read my book outside. I tried out my new Karcher window cleaner on the patio doors and found it much easier to do.

I will change the curtains today to summer light ones and run a few errands.

Take care and thinking of all ?

Good morning Mick and GrandMattie from a dry and bright north Wales!

Oh joys, our pub gardens are open today so we’re trotting off to Conwy and sitting out with a decent bottle at our little wine shop’s newly refurbished courtyard ??

I’m determined to support the little people who’ve struggled through the winter and enjoy myself into the bargain!

Hope everyone has a Good day, whatever they have planned x

Good morning all from north Surrey. Overcast here and feeling cold.
Very busy weekend at work but rewarding and enjoyable.
Safe journey this morning brook, enjoy your long awaited family time.
Early visit to the gym and then a dog walk. Said dog disgraced himself yesterday when he tried to mount another dog who was being walked on lead, very embarrassing as he was persistent! He is 2 this week and it is almost as though a switch has been turned on in his change of behaviour. Thankfully we have him booked in for “the snip” on 4th May.
DH is off walking and pub lunch with his friends, a regular Monday meet up for him.
Delivery due at lunchtime so will find jobs to keep me occupied whilst I wait in. DD says she will pop in too, it will be nice to have a catch up with her with no interruptions.
Wishing all a pleasant day and hoping that we may see some rain for our farmers, allotments and gardens.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where the sun’s up already. Another gorgeous day forecast and it’s warm too by the looks. No breeze anyway.

I need to change the duvet later to the summer one. It’s too heavy and we keep pushing it away then grabbing it back over during the night! Himself is still snuggled under the winter one so I’ve had to make my own tea this morning ha!

We are off to the Trafford Centre again before lunch. It’s only up the road. We could walk it in half an hour if we were feeling energetic! I’ve seen some black sandals I like on line from John Lewis and I want to buy a pair of linen trousers. I’ve decided to change my mindset (and my wardrobe) and go once a week (Monday is the quietest day and it was pleasant last Monday), buy one or two things and home - ie go there regularly but only for a mini-visit. As you can tell, I don’t do mooching.

Have a good day - yours sounds right up my street Pantglas! Keep safe. x

Morning Mick, morning All from a clear if chilly corner of Somerset.

A cold wind encouraged a faster than planned walk around a lake yesterday, still enjoyable it certainly blew cobwebs away.

A foray into the loft for me is first on the list today. Curtain and sofa cover changing to follow for Mr C. Me? I’ll be in a supporting (supervisory!) role then back to the loft before faffing about with some admin while Mr C changes the bed. Yes, I do know how lucky I am.

Hope Monday is gentle with us all. Take care everyone.

Gagagran Mon 26-Apr-21 06:38:27

Morning all from a still cool south coast. 3.5c at 6am but clear, bright and less wind than yesterday when it blew a hoolie. A chilly one too!

We are supposed to be changing broadband provider today so hope all goes well. DH is always looking for a better deal but it invariably involves some hiccups getting going. I shall smile sweetly and leave it u to him to sort out! grin

Had a nice long call from DS and DDiL last night and it always makes me go to bed feeling happy when I know that all is well with them. Their two girls, our lovely DGDs, are in the midst of school exams for GCSE and A levels respectively and both are working hard revising. We hope for a big meet up, as soon as allowed, with all the family.

I think I might do my famous rain dance today to help with all the fervent wishes for rain. Farmers and growers are getting desperate along with our gardens.

Hope the day is a good one for us all.

Good morning from a bright but chilly Torbay.

Thank you for all the supportive comments about the migraine which didn’t trouble me further yesterday. After church, I was pleased to find a copy of The i Weekend was still available in my local paper shop yesterday but the strong wind sent me scurrying (trudging!) home straight afterwards.

Today I hope to go into Torquay to watch a funeral cortège, headed by a horse drawn carriage. It will be bearing a local man on his final journey. His daughter runs my exercise/dance class. He was 97 and had been in the theatrical world, both as a magician/mind reader then a theatrical agent.

Have a good week, everyone! ?

Urmstongran Mon 26-Apr-21 07:07:29

Just took this photo from our balcony (you can see the town centre clock says 7:05am!). Can any of you gardeners tell me the name of the beautiful trees across the road that are full of white blossom? I’m rubbish about trees, birds and I’m curious.

Thank you!

Good morning everyone from Essex by the sea. It's cloudy but not as windy as yesterday but I fear the breeze off the sea is still very cold.
I am going to help DH clean and tidy his boat today. A glutton for punishment, that's me.
I'm sure we will come back shattered but hopefully will have done a good job.
Enjoy Monday and find a ? in whatever you do xx

Beauregard Mon 26-Apr-21 07:09:36

Good morning from sunny Derbyshire. Your rain dance would be very much appreciated round here Gagagran, in fact I might do one myself! There's hope for some over the next few days. I'm having to ration the little bit of grass we have for ?.

wine sounds like a good idea Pantglas
Lovely photo cornergran

Yesterday I did some potting on and planted a row of garlic.

This morning we are looking into booking a holiday next year to Keukenhof Gardens and the Floriade Expo 2022 in the Netherlands. I've seen it mentioned on the GM thread before and it was highly recommended.

Hope everyone has a good day today.

Jaxjacky Mon 26-Apr-21 07:14:05

Good morning Mick and all from S Hants, not far from Gaga at a guess so similar weather, sunny and +3.
Busy yesterday lugging bags of old horse poo on the allotment and sowing seeds in the greenhouse. I must bung the vacuum round today, more watering and trip to the tip booked. Monday is my volunteering day, so I’ll be busy later this afternoon.
Enjoy your wine Pantglas ?. Have a pleasant day all ??.

Morning All from a bright, sunny Wiltshire. It’s been a sunny but very chilly weekend here. Had a lovely afternoon yesterday visiting an NGS open garden with a couple of friends, made even better by a very good plant stall and the best teas and cakes that I’ve ever had at an open garden! The perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon ?. All well on the farm except no rain so no grass - luckily we still have hay left to supplement the cattle otherwise it would be rather desperate. We do have some rain forecast for Wednesday though, cross fingers, so I’d appreciate it if all you grans could start some frantic rain-dancing ASAP! Bogdon the bull is still much improved and even felt frisky enough to have ‘marital relationships’(!) with one of the cows that we have keeping him company! The old devil! It’s great to see him with a spring in his step (literally!) even though it’s ‘too little, too late’ for us. All being well with his TB pre-movement test this week, he’ll be heading back to the farmer we bought him from on Friday.
I’m not sure yet what plans we have for the week other than normal farm jobs. DH will write a list of ‘things to do’ this morning and then work through them.
Wishing you all a good week ahead.

Gwenisgreat1 Mon 26-Apr-21 07:22:56

Good morning all from bright Harrogate
I loathe to agree but we do need rain. Reminds me of 1976 we had a scorcher of a summer, then when it eventually rained it forgot to stop. I don’t know why we can’t just have rain at night and dry during the day!
I do envy your trip to Conwy Pantglas. It seems such a longer time since we were there. Hopefully will be there is September.
This morning shall catch up with my friend in Ayr, this pm ditto my sister in Surrey. Probably housework in between.
Have as best a day as you can!!

Good morning all from a bright but chilly North Leicestershire.

Off shopping for towels for the refurbished downstairs loo. I'm thinking that bright pink will look good - dh thinks navy blue!!

Have the best day possible all.

Good morning all from a cool Glasgow. DH is golfing, so its an empty for me.

I woke up, quite excited as I'm supposed to stop shielding today, but DH put a damper on it, reminding me I hadn't had an official letter, nor have I had my second jab yet! (That's another tale to be told). ?

Yesterday turned out to be such a surprisingly, pleasant day. Firstly DD and DD turned up unexpectedly for help fitting a bike rack to their pristine, new car.
I was not amused when SIL whacked my pristine car with it!?
Just as they left, my DIL arrived with Dollie to wish her own father next door a happy birthday. Dollie had a ball, shouting through the hedge at us.
Because she couldn't see me properly, she wanted me to stick my head over the hedge. It was six feet high!!!?

Then the Ebay queen, appeared, asking if we wanted to come and sit in her garden with her and her husband, DH's golfing partner. DH had a few beers and I had a couple of glasses of non alcoholic Prosecco.
Our other friend, P next door was having a family barbecue. It was so joyful to hear everyone laughing and chatting happily.
For a brief couple of hours, sitting in the sunshine, I felt my life was normal again!

I have painkilling gel to pick up for my hand, the pain is excrutiating. and I'm going to be bold go an pick it up myself. My lovely SIL has been doing it for the last thirteen months, time to give him a rest!

I will come back and read later. I have a builder coming to give me a quote for some pointing work, so I need to be up and about.

Wishing you all the most pleasant of days!

NanKate Mon 26-Apr-21 07:42:45

Morning Mick and All.

Cold but brightening up here in South Bucks.

Yes bright pink Kitty sounds a good option. ?

Off to see my consultant this morning for a follow up.

Beginning to feel we are slowly emerging from Covid. We are so lucky that we have powered ahead here in the U.K., other countries have not been so lucky.

Grandmabatty Mon 26-Apr-21 07:43:05

Good morning all from a cloudy Polmont where it's currently 6°. No rain dance required here as the forecast is for showers. This is my second attempt at posting as my first one wouldn't post no matter how much I jabbed the button, threw things and swore. Actually I didn't throw or swear, just jabbed furiously. Urmstongran I wish I could look all wise, suck in my teeth and say," that there tree is an amalanchier." But I haven't a clue. It's pretty though. Enjoy your shopping. I'm another who doesn't do rootling through shelves. I go, get what I want, and leave. My oldest pal can stay in M&S for hours and always leaves with a bargain.
Today is a babysitting one so I will be at the park regardless of weather. Then the swings at the end of my street, then the back garden with the sandpit and water table. Dgs knows what he likes! However you spend your day, I hope it's a good one.

Susan56 Mon 26-Apr-21 07:45:21

Good morning from Shropshire.Another sunny day but rain forecast on Wednesday??

A quiet day planned ready for our early start and long day tomorrow.

Beau, we had booked for the Keukenhof last year and this year but both obviously cancelled☹️?

Have a good day all??

Grandmabatty Mon 26-Apr-21 07:45:31

Kittylester definitely pink! I painted my bathroom pink to hide the previous occupants Stygian navy and it gave the room a lift.

NanKate Mon 26-Apr-21 07:45:35

Morning Mary do hope you get some respite for your painful hand.

You and Dollie are like two peas in a pod.

Ellianne Mon 26-Apr-21 07:48:14

Good morning.
I'm so pleased to hear others get out the summer furnishings around this time. I caused some hilarity on here last year by saying I changed all the cushions and curtains with the season, but I think freshes the whole house.
Pink towels for me too in your loo kittylester.
Yes, rain is much needed.
Have a good day!

If it has a blackish bark and turns red in autumn, it could be the native wild Cherry or “bird Cherry”. I much prefer it to the showy pink ones.
