Good grief muse how very rude, I’m tall, 5’ 11 and had hurtful remarks when I was a child, I too was taught not to slouch, not many since being an adult, but I am pretty assertive. It was very wrong of them and they are ignorant. Wear your highest heels next time (not for the Pilates) as a subtle ‘up yours’ ??

Hello all. Rain throughout the night. Sun is trying it's best now but struggling. Perhaps the past two ☀️ days have been too much for it and it needs a lie down. Come on sun - shake a leg.

I definitely wrote a post yesterday but it's disappeared. I suspect I left it unposted.

We had the first groundsman around yesterday. Very positive.

Richie, tree man, is due today to take the birch down. Relief.

I had a double wammy of feeling hurt uncomfortable at last night's Pilates. I arrived with 10 mins to spare. All the usual ladies there. One on my right, turns and says "You are tall aren't you?" I answer,"Yes". "How tall are you?" she says. I politely give her my height.
Then, for the next five minutes I had to listen to the lady on my left tell me about her holiday where there were lots of Dutch people. Her remarks about their giganitic height and that the children looked odd because they were tall but still looked like children, I found offensive. She used the word giant a lot. I was lost for words.
Then to cap it all, she followed me out after the class and in the carpark started talking about it again. I'd had enough. With a smile and keeping my composure, I told her that I had comments all my life about my height but my parents (we're a tall family) encouraged me to be proud of my height. I don't slouch at all but I've had to endure some very impolite comments over the years. Many reduced me to tears as a youngster. Also, that I can't understand why people have to state the obvious to their face about someone's appearance. I should imagine people below average height get similar comments. I consider this very rude.
Anyway, enough of my moans kitcheners.

soops back. smile

Good to hear it was a perfect day BladeAnnie. Lovely photo.

Izabella and Panache, Lots of hugs winging their way to you both.

‘Evening All’.

We are back home after visiting my aunt & uncle in Oldham. We picked my stepfather up along the way.

I love going. She is my mum’s sister, younger by 10y and is now 80y. We haven’t seen them for 15 months. I love that my uncle calls young children ‘nippers’ it always makes me smile and feel fuzzy - the old ways. Plus when we arrived he gave me a bear hug in the hall and called me ‘a little belter’. My aunt said ‘Jack, she’s certainly not little ...’. Doncha just love family?
?

Great to have you back soop. You’ve been missed.

I couldn’t believe how sunny it was today! I was melting in the car coming home, behind glass, in my crop wool trousers and long sleeved thin wool tunic. Just jumped in the shower now and feel so much fresher. Pj’s on. Oh, no it’s loungewear ... I keep forgetting!

Hope we all have a peaceful night ahead. x
Hi Doodle ?

GrannyGravy13 Thu 27-May-21 18:51:25

Good that you are back soop

My day hasn’t gone to plan (as usual) I shall endeavour to catch up ?‍♀️

brook2704 Thu 27-May-21 17:52:31

An absolutely beautiful warm sunny day here in Inverness - I’ve been in the garden all day, mowed the front and back lawns and did some weeding. A little bit of just sitting still too listening to the birds. I’m a happy bunny!
DH is making a lemon chicken stir fry for tea .. think we might crack open the weekend wine a day early ....
Did someone say there was wedding cake in the kitchen from the happy couple? Yummy thank you

soop Thu 27-May-21 16:24:43

Dear Izabella and Panache, I am only just beginning to catch up with my Granspals. Us lot continue to admire your patience and fortitude. flowers flowers

I have more catching up to do, however, I have made a start. We are all heading for another new kitchen sometime soon. Goodness gracious me!

I have some ironing to do. Also, I need to dust the bookshelves. When the sun shines directly on them, I am ashamed to say that I've neglected to attack the dust with a feather duster. Mr Soop maintains that the dust is best left undisturbed. What do you think? wink

It is a glorious day. Before the ironing board is erected, we shall sit on the garden bench and sup a well deserved brew

All being well, the internet glitch has been dealt with. Thank you, Baggs for coming to my assistance.

I shall away and trust that I shall be able to carry on catching up tomorrow.

Enjoy the remains of your day. smile moon

Jaxjacky Thu 27-May-21 16:13:14

Wayhay, soop is back ??
Hoping the happy couple have now been ‘pronounced’ and had a big kiss ?. We have been out for lunch, sat in the sunshine, beer for Mr J, squash for me (driving), it was so lovely and I don’t need to cook later. We may wander to the local later where I’ll enjoy a glass of wine and sit outside, again...
I’ll pop back later to see what you people have been up to.

soop Thu 27-May-21 16:10:25

N&G A gentle arm around your shoulders. flowers

grannytilly2511 Have I already welcomed you to the kitchen? If so, welcome back. If not...I apologise. Being internetless has befuddled my few grey cells.

muse Your patience will be rewarded. sunshine

Galen I envy your skill. You have created a work of art.

It is good to have you back with us, annsixty

soop Thu 27-May-21 15:59:47

Jaxjacky Your words regarding BladeAnnie's joy and the feelings that we all share for those of our friends who are having to deal with sorrows of their own, are so true. Thank you.

Grandmabatty Yet more joyful news for us to celebrate.

Urmstongran Your Wednesday was certainly eventful. I admire your energy.

Doodle Yet another striking photograph. Beautiful blue sky.

soop Thu 27-May-21 15:50:45

My word, I have missed you lot and all the recent goings on.

ixion grin Love it.

Yiayia A visit to the hairdresser does boost the morale. Although, I confess to needing to "tiddle" for several days before I'm totally happy with the result.
Your visitors arrive tomorrow. Our visitors arrive on Saturday. I am buzzing with excitement.

gillgran Where did you find the cake? I've been searching high and low and have yet to taste a crumb. wink

Hellogirl That Fern spent the night in the apartment. Mr Soop woke me up early so that I could say hello to her. She has lost a lot of weight. However, her appetite is not impaired. That must be a good sign.

Yiayia4 Thu 27-May-21 14:44:50

Great to see you back Soop never the same without you. Just back from the hairdresser it does give you a boost doesn’t it?
More cooking prep to get on with,DS and DIL arrive tomorrow?
Congratulation Mr and Mrs BladeAnnie? and to Grandmabattywonderful news for you all ?

Saw this, Soop, and thought of you this week -

I am determined to be peevish after my long day's botheration.

annodomini Thu 27-May-21 13:35:12

Hellogirl, I hope for Billy's sake that the cream off the trifle was synthetic. Milk in any form is very bad for cats. I had one that would throw up if he had managed to beg or steal something milky. He was also 'upset' by poultry and neighbours used to put the remains if their turkey on the lawn for the birds with very nasty results for Sam.

brook2704 Thu 27-May-21 13:25:48

Lovely to see you back soop and big congratulations to Mr and Mrs BladeAnnie!

gillgran Thu 27-May-21 12:46:25

Great to see soop reconnected, we missed you too.

Congratulations Mr&Mrs BladeAnnie, wishing you "Health& Happiness". (those cards are lovely, & "so say all of us"!).
Ooo, Wedding Cake! cupcake, yummy!!

Hellogirl1 Thu 27-May-21 12:18:48

I clicked too early by mistake.
CharleyG, I don`t think Billy is ill in any way, he had a full health check by a vet before I got him. Karen at CPL warned me that he loves his food, she just didn`t tell me he was food obsessed, lol. Apparently the lady who had him before, the one who died suddenly, spoilt him rotten, she used to buy those individual trifles and give him the cream off the top!

Hellogirl1 Thu 27-May-21 12:13:18

I wonder if THE WEDDING is ongoing at the moment? All my best wishes to bride and groom.
Soop, fantastic to see that you are back where you belong!

soop Thu 27-May-21 12:05:28

I have much catching up to do. I know that you lot are patient and understanding. I shall do my best to bring myself up to date later this afternoon. In the meantime, I've jobs to attend to in readiness for our weekend visitors.

Puzzler61 Thu 27-May-21 12:01:11

Phew, that’s a relief soop. Hope you are back with us in the kitchen where you belong. You were missed ?
