You lovely lot are the kindest folk on the internet. Thank you for your lovely comments regarding Hattie's painting.

BladeAnnie Your wedding dress mission will have put a spring in your step. How exciting for you - and us lot, too.

Susan I enjoy hearing of your happy carings for Matilda and Hurricane Henry. No need for me to add, have fun. It's a sure thing.

The snooker has reached an exciting final few frames. Mark Selby v Stuart Bingham...14 frames each.
I shall therefore wish you all a pleasant Saturday evening and return to ooh and ahh according to whomsoever wins this match.

Love to you. You are the best. smile moon

Jaxjacky Sat 01-May-21 17:39:25

BladeAnnie gosh those weeks have passed quickly, mostly for you I expect. soop aren’t you clever, I have not one artistic bone in me, pleased you enjoyed your meal and company out.
I only get a paper on Saturdays and today’s headline really cheered ‘Hugs for family allowed in just over two weeks’. I studiously ignored today being naked gardening day as I happily potted on plants in the greenhouse. Chicken casserole in the slow cooker with mash and veg tonight.
Really pleased Mr panache has some relief.
Adieu all.

cornergran Sat 01-May-21 17:54:34

That is indeed a wonderful painting of Hattie soop. I’m pleased your meal was enjoyable.

Thank you for sharing better news about your husband panache, my best wishes to you both.

Time has flown past bladeannie, exciting for you.

Very weary now. Test drive was OK, two pleasant salesmen today restored my faith. still undecided which car is the one though. We’ve agreed to not even think about it until Monday, we’re due sun tomorrow, if it’s not too chilly we have a front garden bed to clear ready to future proof it with slate and wooden planters. .

Take care everyone.

Urmstongran Sat 01-May-21 19:22:10

‘Evening All’.

Just sharing a bottle of Prosecco with Himself after we got home having been sat in our Peugeot 107 (aka ‘the Bubble’) waiting for the AA man to diagnose why it wouldn’t start! ‘The battery is shot’ we were told and so he fitted a new one. Speedy & good service. The NHS for Cars.

soop that portrait is amazing you are seriously talented. I can’t even draw for toffee. I have no talents at all come to think of it! Glad to hear Mr.Panache is feeling better today. Great news Maw that Rosie is settling in nicely.

Hope a peaceful night awaits us all. x

muse Sat 01-May-21 19:57:41

Hello all.

N&G and Susan56. That's a very long time to wait for a private dentist appointment. My visits used to really unnerve me but I'm much better these days. I must be very lucky to get an appointment within a week or two. Sooner the better. Hope all goes well for you both.

soop Lovely to have company and a meal out. Wow - what a talent. The painting is brilliant.

Jax Love the nails and they are pretty. Do wish mine were like that. I daren't put them on GN. Start of a bunion, big toes both with misshapen nails, broken toes that have mended with bumps and one is shorter than the others. shock GNHQ would banned the photo for being offensive.

Urmston What a perfect day you had yesterday. I'm off to look for a salted caramel cornetto in the freezer now.

Cornergran We're about to set forth into car sales rooms. Trouble is MrM and I have to agree first on what we want hmm but we are both quite keen to get an electric one.

Charleygirl5 Rosie will settle. She is lovely. My rescue dog was 4 when I had her. After a few weeks she settled on her bed in the corner of our living area near the log burner and in the morning, she has moved to the end of the sofa. She howled whenever I went out without her eg Pilates classes. MrM recorded it once. It did take her a while to stop but her eyes follow me like hawk to see if I'm going out and now waits patiently and eagerly to see if she can come too.

Pleased to read the news about MrPanache.

Lovely sunny day here in Cornwall but very chilly when the sun disappeared behind a cloud. I'm expecting a frost in the morning. Forecast has given -1°. Picked my first little strawberry this afternoon. Going to be a bumper crop.

I've started taking turmeric capsules for my arthritis (several places but mainly left hip and thumbs). I don't want to go down the track of pain killers every night and anti inflammatory tablets. I had very bad heart burn when I was prescribed them for my arthritic right hip five years ago.

Been texting lovely daughter on and off all day. She's been at a low ebb for a few days. She said a good cry this afternoon helped sad However, it's not helped by pigeons changing the colour of her car. They roost in the neighbours tree that over hangs where she parks her car at the side of the house. I've suggested hanging lots of CDs everywhere and sent her this from Wacky Races. www.youtube.com/watch?v=sj6-LG5VpGk. to cheer her up. Just received a text to say the CDs seem to be deterring them ?? ??

No reply or call from my dear son yet.

Well I have managed to catch up with the new kitchen so far and lovely to hear that Mr Panache is feeling so much better after his blood transfusion. That really is good news Panache.
Yesterday I went to the first of my next round if chemo but need to have a blood test first. They tried to get blood out of my right hand and arm for over an hour with no luck. Luckily I was lying on a bed and not sitting in a chair because it was very painful. In the end they took it from the back of my left hand although officially they shouldn't because of the oedema in my left arm.

That is a beautiful portrait soop . I wish I had a fraction of your talent. But I am worried that you are still feeling poorly and nauseous. Hopefully the doctor will be able to sort it out on Tuesday.
As most of you know Portugal and the rest of Europe are way behind the UK in covid vaccination. A week or so ago it was announced We could go online and book in if over 70. I put all my husbands details in last weekend and he has an appointment on Tuesday at the big football stadium at 9.10am. So he is happy. Then blow me I had a phone call on Thursday inviting me to go yesterday for mine. But I had to explain that I was having chemo yesterday and that I also had to discuss with with my oncologist next week when during my chemo cycles I could have the vaccine. So things are starting to happening here if a bit slow.

Hellogirl1 Sat 01-May-21 21:23:21

So very pleased to hear better news about Mr. Panache, Panache, you must be really happy.
Love the Hattie picture Soop.
Glad to hear that Rosie is enjoying her new home.
Beautiful flowers Corner.
My alarm clock has given up alarming, so I ordered a new one from Amazon today. One looked interesting, but I decided it wasn`t the one for me. It included a bed shaker, a gadget to make the mattress vibrate when the alarm goes off, lol!

muse Sat 01-May-21 21:27:56

Daisyboots. Thinking of you and your husband with the vaccinations. It makes so much difference on how you feel when you have your first one. Good luck with that and your chemo. You're holding together with so much positivity.?

Nannytopsy Sat 01-May-21 22:58:22

Good evening everyone. Glad you enjoyed your meal soop and it’s good that you have an appointment next week.
Jax why didn’t you tell us it was naked gardening day? If I’d only known! ??
So pleased to hear better news from you Panache.
We too need to begin thinking about replacing our two cars, probably just getting one. As things stand, we don’t think electric cars do the distances we need yet without a long stop to recharge. We shall take ages to finally do anything!
Sleep tight everyone. ?

brook2704 Sun 02-May-21 07:45:14

What a beautiful portrait soop you’re such a talented lady. It really is lovely!
Panache so pleased things are a little bit better for you and your DH just now, take care sending ❤️

Charleygirl5 Sun 02-May-21 13:05:03

Rosie appears to have moved in permanently to maw's bedroom and it will be a matter of time before she finds a cosy spot on the bed. At least both of them slept well. I only hope she does not howl if maw pops out for a loaf of bread.

My apologies, Rosie is not 5, she is younger- birdbrain thinks she is 3 and a half but I will double-check.

soop Sun 02-May-21 13:13:43

Good afternoon lovely you lot.

I'm running awful late. Had a long lie-in. No hope of catching up until the end of the afternoon.

I shall share three photos taken yesterday evening. I shall return in the fulness of time...

Charleygirl5 Sun 02-May-21 14:12:56

soop I am delighted to hear you had a decent lie in and I hope you have many more. Like myself, you do not really have to be up at the crack of dawn each day? It makes the days so much longer.

Forget about us lot and look after yourself for once.
TOYA

annodomini Sun 02-May-21 14:23:56

A good lie-in is necessary to one's well-being. That's why I indulge most days. For the past year, there's been nowhere to go and no-one to see though things are livening up somewhat. It's a dreich day here in Cheshire, made brighter by the rich copper of my big acer and the bright red blossom and foliage on my ornamental malus. The rest of the garden is a wilderness.
Info from Maw: Rosie is having a late puppy-hood and leaving a trail of destruction in her new abode! But still very endearing by the sound of it.
Time to go out to visit a friend, so comb my hair and put my teeth in. grin

Jaxjacky Sun 02-May-21 14:47:43

Grandmafrench has asked me to let you all know she’s taking a few days out to catch up urgent correspondence, she will return.
Specifically, soop you are in her thoughts, she’s worried about you.

cornergran Sun 02-May-21 15:26:32

Thank you for letting us know jaxjacky, good luck with the correspondence grandmafrench. We all need to prioritise sometimes.

A lie in is definitely not a bad thing soop, hope you feel more rested today.

Busy morning here, a small front border has been cleared, weed suppressant membrane spread, new planters on top with slate chipping round them. So much easier to manage. Mr C did the lions share of the work and is having a well deserved nap.

Look after yourselves everyone.

Grandmabatty Sun 02-May-21 15:42:53

Good afternoon all. Lovely photos Soop. Good news about Rosie. She's obviously feeling at home. I'm glad there's nothing sinister in Grandmafrench absence. She's been a source of support for me since I joined GN.
I've had a visit from dgs,dd and dsil which I thoroughly enjoyed. I'm about to make a chicken and dumplings casserole for dinner. I still have ironing to do but it shouldn't take long. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday.

GrannyGravy13 Sun 02-May-21 16:25:01

soop you are a very talented lady, beautiful painting of Hattie.

Good to hear Grandmafrench is ok.

Jaxjacky we had my Dads birthday celebration in The Maypole (his 70th). We sprinkled his ashes into the sea by the Ferry Boat and his widow (my step-mother) lives left at the Fair Ground. It’s a small world!

Yiayia4 Sun 02-May-21 16:32:50

Hello Kitchen wifi very slow here so trying to catch up.
So pleased to hear your news Panache enjoyevery minute with your dear man.
Wonderful portrait Soop you are indeed very talented and Urms I’m sure you have many talents being a kind person is one of them.
We are enjoying our short break.Yesterday we made a nostalgic trip to Chichester marina this was the start of our boating adventures many years ago.We have fond memories of bombing across to the Isle of Wight with our 3 sons happy days.Today we went to Gunwarf, shops far to busy but had lunch watching the ferries come and go plus the sun was shining.
Good luck with chemo Daisyboots another brave lady?
Pics of Marina and Gunwarf.
Enjoy your evening.

soop Sun 02-May-21 16:56:32

Grandmafrench Haste ye back. You will be missed.

Daisyboots An armful of flowers and wall to wall sunshine from me to you. x

dragonfly46 Sun 02-May-21 17:10:04

That is a beautiful picture soop - you are so clever!

Well I have spent the day being waited on hand and foot. I was rushed into hospital last night with a very high irregular heartbeat. I am now waiting for blood test results and medication.
Well done NHS yet again!

Jaxjacky Sun 02-May-21 17:13:14

Hi everyone, it is indeed small GG13. Sounds like a good day out Yia not surprised GW was crowded, it is beautiful along the coast that way. Glad Rosie is ‘settling in’!
Still chilly here, got a bit of digging done on the allotment, but clay is difficult, then later rain, two brief, but heavy showers, a taste of what’s to come tomorrow maybe, I’ve closed up the greenhouse for the day. Roast chicken for dinner, might have some plain yoghurt later with a banana that needs using up. Mr J is working tomorrow, so I’ll be maybe more digging (delaying housework!).
Heating is on, in May for goodness sake, awaiting football to start, if it does, after a significant delay. LoD later ?.
Have a peaceful evening everyone.

Yiayia4 Sun 02-May-21 17:42:17

Get well soon Dragonfly??

soop Sun 02-May-21 17:55:06

dragonfly Thank goodness for our NHS. Are you home? Or are you still on the ward? Please continue to allow yourself to be royally pampered. I hope that you are feeling better very, very soon. Please keep us updated. flowers

Yiayia Chichester is elegant and the marina is somewhere I remember fondly. As do I of a holiday, long ago on the Isle of Wight. You take the atmospheric photographs. Thank you for sharing with us.

Grandmabatty It has been that long since I last tucked into a dumpling...my mouth is watering at the very notion of sharing one with you.

anno Our Rosie is going to be a celebrity if she carries on with her antics. I am truly pleased that *Maw is sharing her home with her.

corner We've done some planting. Or should I say, Mr Soop has and I've officiated. Someone has to wink

Charleyg I know that I've earned my retirement. Yet I still find it difficult to indulge in long, lazy days. Isn't that silly of me?

Nannytopsy The meal at the seafood restaurant was superb. I forgot to mention that, on returning home, a certain pussy cat was sitting on the patio. In she came. Four pouches of food and a handful of Purina biscuits later...guess what? Yep! She wandered away leaving me to wash her dish. grin

muse You are never far from my thoughts. sunshine

Jaxjacky Go easy on the digging. It is a holiday. Rain is on the cards for tomorrow. We need lashings of it.

Urmstongran The last time our car was scrutinized by the mechanic, he sucked his teeth. A very telling sign. hmm

Hello again, dear brook2704, I am behind with much of the activities in our kitchen. I blame the snooker. We are on the final lap. I would like Shaun Murphy to win. It's a game of oohs and ahhs. The snooker balls have a way of confusing the issue. Mind you, I'm a very good ref. I tell the players what and what not to do. Do they listen? Hardly ever.

Hellogirl A bed shaker!!! hmm Sounds very interesting. I'm having a new mattress delivered on Tuesday. It will be delivered in a very large box. Then I have to have bloods taken at the surgery. Say hello to David and carry on to have my hair styled after eleven months of wayward growth.

Need to log off. My love to you all. Until tomorrow. smile moon

dustyangel Sun 02-May-21 18:13:24

I’m glad that you’ve had your first vaccine Daisyboots, it does make you feel more protected. I’ve had my first one but when I saw the doctor about another matter on Thursday she said that I must discuss with my specialist whether to have the second or not. I can’t contact him until the middle of next week so I hope he says that I can go ahead.

soop I’ve seen a few of your animal portraits over the years but the one of Rosie seems the best yet, you’ve captured her shiny coat so well.
