Any Great Nannas out there?

That is fabulous Daisyboots. A dynasty. We are so lucky because not many of our previous generations were able to see so many descendants. I do some ancestry research and look at how before about 1900 so many infants died young from infections etc. Now we have Covid but until this we really haven’t had a lot of that sort of thing to cope with thanks to antibiotics and better medical care.

I have 20 plus grandchildren ranging in age from 2 to 37. So I now have 9 greatgrandchildren and another one due in July.

I have 11 gc ranging from 1 to 32 and 8 ggc from 13 to 5 under twos .I lose track sometimes and have only seen 2 during covid .I gave up on birthday presents eighteen months ago and now they all get money for Christmas and birthdays.So much easier.

Framilode - you could make the great great one then. My granddaughter with the 2 babies is only 20, she married at 18. Unusual these days but she thought it was better than her uni course ( no comment from me !!!)

My grandmother became a great grandmother just a few months before she died. My daughter was born on her (great grandmother’s) birthday and she got to meet her a few times. The final time was in the hospital where she suffered a final stroke. In the meantime another great granddaughter was born but she didn’t meet her. Now, there are 24 great grandchildren - 12 boys and 12 girls. There are also a dozen great great grandchildren! I have one grandchild and she is 5 today. I am 68, so doubt if I will get to be a great grandmother any time soon!

nanna8 I’m only in my late seventies but my sister was 12 years older than me and had her daughters in her twenties. Sadly she died before her great grand children were born.

Great greats, wow! Now that is really something. I look back and I can’t believe that I have a daughter about to turn 50. I remember thinking how old I was at that age . Huh, now I go 10 years older than me to think someone is ‘old’. Time goes so very fast, doesn’t it ?

No great grandchildren yet but I have five great, great nephews and nieces.

I have one ggs who is almost 2 and his new sibling is due in June. We were lucky enough to welcome their dad, our step gs, into our family 25 years ago when he was 4.

Our eldest GD had a baby girl on Monday, a few hours after moving into their new flat.They live in Paris so I don't suppose we'll see them often. Our other 9 GC range from 28 to 19, so I expect more GGC will arrive before long. It certainly intensifies the feeling of being ancient!

I did not know there was a g/grandparents club Chicken.

Another here with GGC. The two oldest ( twins ) will be 15 next month. There are 5 others with the youngest at 4.

Yes, I have two Great grandchildren a boy aged 11 and a girl of 9. I am not sure if I will see more in my lifetime as my other GS's are still in their early teens

I too have Grt. Grand children 5 at the last count, my GC range from 3yrs to 33yrs my Grt GC are 1x2, 3,4 and 5. I’m sure they’ll be more before long.

They will soon be 5, Girl; 4, Boy; and 3, Girl.

My granddaughter will be 30 this month and my great grandson will be 5 at Christmas.

My son aged 70 and his wife were married for 15 years before my granddaughter came on the scene.

I too will be 91 this month.
