Good Morning Everyone,
Its a dry but cloudy start here in Brackley this morning.
Today , a busy one for me , once I have had my breakfast I will go and place my vote in the local polling station .
Later , I will get the bus to Bicester , and do my usual but also try and get a blood pressure monitor, as I have need to give readings for my bi annual blood test, for diabetes cum general health check next week .
Take Care ,
Mick

Love that idea Urms☕️I am learning from a master!

Good morning from a brightening Leicestershire.

Dexter is much better today and does seem quieter. He ate well last yesterday as Maw gave me the recipe for doggy chicken broth.

We too do postal voting although I think you need a degree to work out which paper goes in which envelope.

So sorry Ashcombe that a reunion is not yet on the cards. Maybe proof of vaccine may do it.

Thinking of Mary, Cherry, Harri and all those under the weather.

Good morning everyone from an overcast Northampton. Showers forecast later on, so will leave the washing till tomorrow.

Had my hair done yesterday afternoon and am feeling a lot lighter, in pocket (£94 for cut, colour and style) as well as physically! I had it cut really short and the hairdresser and I decided that the grey had to go! It now looks more like me peering out from the mirror.

Sainsburys are due to deliver at lunchtime, then I have a phone call with a therapist this afternoon. We tried on Microsoft teams last week, but couldn't get it to work for me so hope for better luck today. If not we will resort to the phone.

Take care and stay safe everyone.

Good morning from a brightish Essex. And it’s still cold!!!!?

I just pulled up our bedroom blind and there on the roof opposite was a huge FLAMINGO . Rushed to get my camera and rubbed the sleep from my eyes and realised it was a huge heron. Never seen one round here before but beautiful all the same. ?.

Exciting news for you grandmadinasaur. ??.

Yesterday we took all the daff and tulip bulbs out of the tubs and pots. They looked so dreary and sad after such a wonderful display they had given us. What a tough job it was. ! We’ll wait to buy bedding plants as it’s still too cold for them.

Today I’m having my hair done! Yay! I go to my hairdressers house and she’s very reasonable. She’s done my hair for about 30 years - first in the salon and then in her house. Has put the price up by £2 only once in the last 10 years. Usually pay £40 (I give her £45) but if I don’t have colour, £23. I don’t know what to have done ?. Was going to have colour and a restyle but family have said they like it as it is. I’ll see what the expert says.

After hair, I’m going to my friends for lunch. Will have a good old natter and discuss the book we’re reading for out book club. Usually goes like this
‘How are you getting on with the book?’
‘Not very well, I’ve started it twice and don’t think I’ll bother. ‘
‘Same here’. ‘Life’s too short’ ??

We have had some good books but generally not worth wasting time on. ?.

Clouding over here now , so rain might be on its way. ☔️

Wishing you all a gentle day. ??

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Weak sunshine at the moment in South Yorkshire. I have a hospital appointment this morning. That doesn’t stress me out so much as the journey to get there and then trying to find a parking space when we do. Hey ho. We will walk down to the polling station later. Have a good day folks and stay safe.

Good morning everyone from a sunny Black country, hope it stays that way off to garden centre farm shop. Will then call into one of the bigger supermarkets for a change of scenery. We have an Aldi within 5mins but it's nice to have more of a range. No voting stations for us postal vote went off last week.

Grandmajean Thu 06-May-21 08:06:41

Good morning from wet and windy Cheshire. Top up shop this morning then Zoom choir later. Will come back to read what everyone's been up to. Good wishes to those with worries .

BlueSapphire Thu 06-May-21 08:10:41

Trying again, didn't post just now.
The new me!

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s sunny again.

Yesterday my fire was installed. I’m really pleased with it. Much more in keeping with the style of the house than the one we inherited when we moved here. Hoping the decorators who have promised to call to do quotes turn up. The man I have used for 13 years has moved on to other things.
I have a zoom call this morning with a parent carer group. I will pop out to vote and have a walk to the river if it stays fine.
Have a good day everyone.Stay safe.

Good Morning from a bright, sunny, cold north Manchester. Waves to urmstongran and wonders how different our greater Manchester weather can be - we can’t be 10 miles away yet totally different.

Party4 Thu 06-May-21 08:14:29

Morning all from a bright West Yorks looks as if quite a rainfall overnight.Nothing much planned today, postal vote sent last week,DH has his 2nd vac and maybe drop off another load of stuff at local charity shop. This is second load plus one trip to tip plus filled wheelie bins, we must be lighter in that loft !! When I look up there, all neatly packed and labelled which will make a final clear out either by us or AC easier to dispose of.
Thought and wishes to those with illness and worry.Take care all.

Alygran Thu 06-May-21 08:14:53

Love your hair Bluesapphire

Urmstongran Thu 06-May-21 08:28:24

Your book club chats made me chuckle Gingster!
?

At ours we never finish a book either if we are not enjoying it. That, we decided, would be too much like homework!

Marydoll Thu 06-May-21 08:28:35

Good Morning all,

Not very nice here in Glasgow. We should have had a day out at the coast, postponed from yesterday, but I'm still not well enough, quite disappointed. sad

Thank goodness I now have a permanent postal vote, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to vote today.

Congratulations to Gwenisgreat, who has now worked out my location. Litterpicker, you are slacking!

Bluesapphire, your hair is lovely, you look nothing like hoe I imagined you! grin.

Have the best day you can, all.

ginny Thu 06-May-21 08:30:33

Good morning all. Overcast here in N. Bucks.
My day will be sunny as we are off to Dd3. So will have cuddles with Charlie and then collect his big brother from school. Will take lunch and do any little jobs that need doing for them.
Had my second vaccine yesterday, no side effects so far.
Lovely to hear good news from some and thoughts for others who are troubled in any way.
Hope you all find a ?today.

aggie Thu 06-May-21 08:33:32

Good Morning all, the sun is full blast but I dared to step outside in my dressing gown and hastily stepped back in ! It’s frrrreeeezzing !
I am crocheting blankets for sitting out but as fast as I finish one it is bagged by my gang , but the next on has to be for me ?

Georgesgran Thu 06-May-21 08:35:31

Good morning from Durham. A stunning blue sky, but cold. Hauled an old mattress down the drive last night, so hope that’s picked up later. Garden bin collection too.
I’m still jumping through hoops to access DH’s pension etc. He was ‘on the ball’ financially, but it’s like wading through treacle.
Hope the new gardener comes today, he’s working out a price for some work.
Hope everyone has a good day with no repeat of yesterday’s weather. X

Urmstongran Thu 06-May-21 08:38:08

Sun’s out here now Iam64! ☀️ will send some up the road to you.
?

I like your cut and colour too Blue you look very elegant!

Anniebach Thu 06-May-21 08:39:53

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Nannytopsy Thu 06-May-21 08:40:03

Good morning Mick and all his followers. I hope you have a good trip out Mick .
Urms I thought everyone knew about the tea trick!
Grandmadinosaur what lovely news. I keep hoping we shall hear the same from our DD who had an ectopic last year.
Aly glad you like your fire. We booked a decorator just after Christmas who can fit us in sometime in August.
DH has a hospital appointment and we shall vote. We go up to the polling station here - we live on a hill here.
I hope the day is kind to everyone.

grandmajet Thu 06-May-21 08:41:44

There’s a blue sky with white clouds here in Notts today - what it will bring remains to be seen.
It’s good to hear that Freddie and Dexter are on their way to recovering.
So many people now getting smart hair and second jabs - life certainly looks to be returning to a new normal now.
Yesterday, having had my hospital visit cancelled, we went to meet our eldest daughter by the lovely river Trent and ended up having lunch and a little walk through a nature reserve. It was good to feel almost normal. I came home and had a nap while Grandpajet prepared a liver and bacon casserole for dinner. It was very tasty. I think he’s a keeper! (Decision after 45 years!)
Hoping for a good day for everyone, and that a little bit of joy can get in to all your lives.

hulahoop Thu 06-May-21 08:42:32

BlueSapphire your hair looks very nice the colour is lovely.I have a Dr appointment this morning then shopping and voting .It's bright but cold here today.

Stilllearning Thu 06-May-21 08:47:29

Morning from a shockingly white S Lanarkshire but roads and pavements black so hopefully snow will go in time for my trip to the polling station. I thought about, but decided against a postal vote, there’s something about ‘casting my vote’ in person that appeals to me.

My local daughter has sold her house and she and her husband are going to rent while they decide exactly what they want. They are moving just 12 miles away to the small town where she grew up and I am quite looking forward to dipping my toe back in there myself. I will miss her dropping by/going for a walk a couple of times a week though. As long as they find what they want, I’ll be happy.

BlueSapphire lovely hair.

My youngest SiL is having his first vaccine today, I hope DD is not far behind. We definitely seem to be slower at the roll out now than the rest of the UK.

Wishing everyone a good day, enjoy your ramble Grammaretto, a step back into normality.
Sun has just come up! ??

NannyJan53 Thu 06-May-21 08:47:43

Good morning from a bright, but increasinly cloudy Black Country.

Spent most of yesterday reading my book 'Me Before You' by Jo Jo Moyes, it is very good. Didn't realise it had been made into a film.

All this talk of hair cuts, prompted me to call my Hairdresser yesterday. I last went January last year. I have an appointment for next Wednesday! I did warn him it had grown quite long. I wouldn't be surprised if the price has gone up, and he has never increased his prices since I started going in 2011.

Will pop up to Merry Hill today to collect a parcel from Regatta. I ordered trainers and a zip up sweat shirt in the sale. Then back home to make a chilli. That is the excitement for today! Oh yes, then pop round the corner to vote.

So sorry you are still feeling unwell Marydoll flowers

Wishing you all a lovely day

Grandmabatty Thu 06-May-21 08:49:24

Good morning all from Polmont. Cold and damp here but I'm staying home. BlueSapphire your hair is lovely. Grandmadinosaur what lovely news. Congratulations. Marydollin I'm sorry to hear you are still suffering from side effects. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you feel better soon.
My drama queen role yesterday was interesting and quite tiring. There were a number of candidates and I had to be sure to give them all the same prompts but react to what each one said too. I suppose it's improvisation. They were all quite different. Once home I had to pick up dgs from his grandad as there was a car problem and then take him home. I didn't mind as i love seeing him.
Today I will potter about. I really want to buy a small greenhouse to fill a little hole against a fence where I can put the tomato plants I'm nurturing on the kitchen window sill, but it's still too cold to expose them to the outside weather! I'll probably carry on knitting a throw for my bed from wool oddments. Chicken in white wine and cream for dinner. Have a good day all.
