Good Morning Everyone,
Its a dry but cloudy start here in Brackley this morning.
Today , a busy one for me , once I have had my breakfast I will go and place my vote in the local polling station .
Later , I will get the bus to Bicester , and do my usual but also try and get a blood pressure monitor, as I have need to give readings for my bi annual blood test, for diabetes cum general health check next week .
Take Care ,
Mick

Well this #lazygran has brought her latte back to bed!! GrandpaGravy has taken the 6yr old to school (very long walk, not! next door but one)

BlueSaphire loving your hair, I am envious of those who suit a short style.

Nannytopsy Thu 06-May-21 08:53:12

What time should we arrive for dinner Grandmabatty ? ?

BlueSapphire Thu 06-May-21 08:54:23

Urmston, I used to tell DH he did the hoovering so much better than me.... It worked.

Grandmabatty Thu 06-May-21 08:57:55

Nannytopsy just let me know and I'll take more out of the freezer! I've never learned the art of cooking for one so invariably there are loads of food which I freeze. You would be welcome. ?

G’day everyone. Just had a lovely seafood pizza for tea from the local takeaway. They are Italians and certainly know how to make them! Couldn’t be bothered cooking because we just got back from a 2.5 hour drive from the beach. Hope you all have a lovely day.

Urmstongran Thu 06-May-21 09:03:21

Carrots work better than sticks every time Blue don’t they? Hehe!

EkwaNimitee Thu 06-May-21 09:11:42

Good morning, Mick and everyone from a now grey Carlisle. We have had two days of sun and heavy showers, sometimes of hail and it looks like more of the same today.
I had the blinds man round yesterday and chose blinds for all windows. It isn't easy choosing colours and styles from small samples but I'm hopeful it will be fine in the end especially as it's mostly neutral shades I've gone for. Been a bit daring for my sitting room though so fingers crossed. I only have to wait a month for them. That was a relief to find out as the previous day I'd been checking out greenhouses and found that there was a wait of over six months for those models still left for sale. A good job I wasn't seriously wanting one.
Those side effects should steadily fade, I hope, Marydoll. Wishing you and everyone with problems a better day.

Polling station at 7:25 was empty, job done. Grandmadinosaur congratulations on your news and BlueSapphire indeed elegant hair. Mine, however cut, will always be wayward and already needs another snip from being cut a few weeks ago. It might help if I combed it occasionally, too late now to change my ways (think I’m in your #lazygran class Urms). Bit envious of all the GC cuddles, I’ll be zooming in on ours straight after school on the 17th. *Marydoll hopefully your recovery time is a lot swifter than after your first jab, go gently.
Must read the meters and email in, probably time for attempt three at getting a smart meter. The slow germination of seeds has now accelerated, as usual I’ve over sown, I’ll be giving a fair few plants away. I’ve bought the flower plants to redo our hanging baskets, but too cold yet, at least two baskets will have baby tomatoes in. Have a pleasant day all, thoughts with those of you poorly, sad or just a bit down x

Borrheid55 Thu 06-May-21 09:30:48

Marydoll did I give the game away?

Dogsmakemesmile Thu 06-May-21 09:40:42

Morning all. Cold and a layer of snow in this part of Scotland. Have made meal for tea, some tidying done, shuffled some stuff towards the recycling. Fed my beloved dog (he makes me smile inside) after his walk. Settled down on sofa. Open University course awaits. Counting down to elevenses. Wishing all of you on here as good a day as possible.

B9exchange Thu 06-May-21 09:42:09

Hello all from SW Herts, dull, overcast and cold here, it is May, when is it going to warm up? ?. Love your hair Blue, such a pretty colour and style. At first glance I thought 'who is that young boy on there?' as my DG1 has the same hair style! ??
Ash I am sure the need for tests for the fully vaccinated will disappear in a couple of months.
Glad to hear Dexter is improving, and Freddie is recovering well. DD's puppy still wees at the slightest excitement, it is going to be a long haul with that one.

DH is doing his volunteering telephone duty today, so I have peace. Can get in organising his birthday treat, driving experiences in an Austin 7 and Jaguar XJS, how's that for a contrast!

Love the idea of a lazy gran training school, please can I enrol 'Urms*?

Borrheid55 Thu 06-May-21 09:45:45

Morning all from a sunny Ashford Kent. Been to William Harvey hospital car park and had my squash booby test. I arrived early courtesy of DH only to find that I was the first appointment and the artic trailer wasn’t even open - so I sat on the stairs until called. From arrival at the car park barrier to exit, we were 27 minutes! No car park fee. Very efficient and didn’t feel rushed. I had my second vaccine on Monday and have noticed a red mark has appeared yesterday. Didn’t happen after the first one, hope it isn’t a bad sign!
Saw reports of snow in the Highlands - unusual but not unheard of apparently. I have a friend lives outside Kinloch Rannoch at the foot of Schiehallion, I’m glad I’m not visiting. I hate snow! 42 years in the South East has turned me into a southern softy! Just wish I could get out into the garden.
Gwenisgreat what gave the game away as to Marydoll’s location?
Hope you all have a great day and those in the sick bay feel better. I’ve now got about two extra hours in my day having got up for my appointment. Now, where’s my book and IPad…..

Megs36 Thu 06-May-21 09:53:19

Morning all. Borrheid I too had red mark and hardish patch at injection sight after second vaccination, lasted about six days but no ill effects. Small price to pay I thought, my husband had no signs.?????

Sunnyoutlook Thu 06-May-21 09:55:15

BlueSapphire Beautiful hair.

CherryCezzy Thu 06-May-21 09:59:25

Good morning everyone. The weather has all the appearance of loveliness in the Gower but it's nippy outside.

The plasterer I'd here today so the work on the kitchen is progressing quite nicely ?. Quite a bit of the noisy work was done yesterday ?. So glad we we weren't in the house to witness it ?. Hunting trip for wall tiles shortly. I know, I know, it should have already been done ?. We couldn't make up our minds on what we wanted we disagreed . We know what we're looking for now I've won the ^battle ?.

What a journey to she your DH's parents Susan ?. No wonder you're exhausted and are in training for #lazygran! Urmstongran has provided pretty good tips to advance your endeavour though ?
Oh Marydoll I hope the side effects of the jab wear of today and you are in finer fettle tomorrow ?
? to harrigran and all who have medical appointments, or have loved ones having them today.

A big thank you to all the wonderful goodmorningers who have sent we their well wishes, goodmorningers are special people flowers

I hope everyone finds a random flamingo thrown into the day and finds a ? along the way ❤️

CherryCezzy Thu 06-May-21 10:08:50

Predictive text! Grr, why don't I ever preview ?.

Congratulations to you and your family Grandmadinosaur ?

I think your new haircut looks great BlueSapphire.

Good morning it's sunny cloudy rainy here I might risk putting the washer on
Yesterday morning the car valleter couldn't come because the weather was horrendous but did eventually turn up at lunchtime which made me very happy as it now looks like a new car.
Then later in the day the fence man came and fixed the panels that wouldn't fit so a good day all round

Off to vote later then potting some plants up I really want to get them outside but still risk of frost so I will have to be patient
Lovely hair BLUE
Hope your feeling better soon MARYDOLL
Enjoy your day if you can everyone

Gwenisgreat1 Thu 06-May-21 10:31:27

Good Morning a.l from sunny Harrogate
Borrheid55 you helped me to discover the location, I ha. d swithered between Clarkston which I visited frequently - I used to live in Newton Mearns. Marydoll I graciously accept the certificate!! Now hurry and get better!!
Have just received my shopping from Sainsburies, and am trying to get this posted before SH and DD return from their walk with the dog.
Will try to pop in later to read through properly!

Good Health to all and hope you enjoy a bit more freedom

Litterpicker Thu 06-May-21 10:38:04

Good morning all. The sky is darkening here after a bright start. My book club host emailed earlier to say we will go for the meeting in her garden ?

Marydoll I did not know I had competition ?. However, you will get a shock when I turn up on your doorstep ?.

Elizabeth my nephew is studying medicine at St Andrews. Maybe he will call on you! He is a lovely lad ?

DH has just gone to voting station to ‘post’ in our postal votes - procrastination led to us only filling them in today.

Bluesapphire beautiful cut & colour. Urmston I admired yours yesterday. The long and the short - both elegant.

Must get on. ? to those with illness or sadness.

Blossoming Thu 06-May-21 10:48:26

Good morning all from a sunny Lancashire. Showers forecast for later, but quite pleasant at the moment. Today we need to go and vote, visit the pharmacy to pick up my prescription and hoping for a walk to the marina and back. Hope you have the best day possible, stay safe.

Grandmajean Thu 06-May-21 10:58:49

BlueSapphire

Trying again, didn't post just now.
The new me!

Love it ! I have similar style and colour. Easy to look after -just needs cutting often.

Marydoll Thu 06-May-21 11:17:34

Litterpicker you would be very welcome.
Please, just wait until my garden is in order, all the materials for the new decking are piled on the grass, having been delivered unexpectedly yesterday. ?

Scullion52 Thu 06-May-21 11:20:03

grandMattie Thu 06-May-21 11:23:06

Home after voting. Does anyone have a slight frisson when “posting” the papers into the ballot box, that it is actually a shredder?

CherryCezzy Thu 06-May-21 11:28:11

grandMattie ?, the thought did occur to me a couple of years ago. Not for any particular reason, but it did.
