Good Morning Everyone,
Its a dry but cloudy start here in Brackley this morning.
Today , a busy one for me , once I have had my breakfast I will go and place my vote in the local polling station .
Later , I will get the bus to Bicester , and do my usual but also try and get a blood pressure monitor, as I have need to give readings for my bi annual blood test, for diabetes cum general health check next week .
Take Care ,
Mick
Cherry, I have that vague unsettled feeling every time! ?
Good morning all from a sunny Portugal. It’s cool in the mornings but got up to 25°late yesterday. Lovely weather but the sun on our windows confuses the birds and we had a close call with a House Martin crashing into the glass. It must have realised at the last minute as there was some frantic fluttering before it turned and flew away. I wish we could find a not too expensive solution.
I love the new hairstyles Urmstongran and Bluesapphire.
Older DD sent me a photo of her new cut yesterday, it was so long since her last one that she was able to donate 9 inches to #thelittleprincesstru
It’s so long since I’ve seen them.
Drizzle outside in my Cornish hideaway but a little sun expected. Sorry but there are no moans from me about the wet stuff as I'm desperate for the ground (clay) to be damper for next week. Raised beds are about to happen and there's digging to do. Not by me though. I'll do the planting afterwards.
Lots of good vibs going everyone's way with these 2nd vaccinations. Triple dose to Marydoll.
Good Luck susan with the tip from Urmston. Mine does breakfast everyday now. Hope your MiL's eye operation goes well.
GrannyGravy13 I suspect being the filling in a sandwich made him feel much better.
Borrheid55 moving has turned me into a softy too. Can't believe the journeys I used to do in the snow to get to work and back home again.??you have no after effects from the 2nd one. As Megs says, it does disappear.
Blue Love the cut. Now am I brave enough to do that in two hours time. It was a style I had many moons ago and loved it. Taking a few images with me - one the layered look I had when getting married five years ago. Same hairdresser did that.
Seems ages when I posted our votes.
I suspect I am about to start the search again for a carpenter. With all the delays on our house build, I had to cancelled him, the plumber and electrician (2nd fix). Everything needs re-quoting for and so I decided to start with the carpenter. He said he would get back to me but he is booked up for quite a few months. Do we wait? He's done one small job brilliantly but we want to crack on ! We are close to five years with this build now.
I've heard nothing from my lovely son. His last text was: I'll let you know when anything changes. I've got the hint and have stopped sending texts?
Good text from darling daughter. Looks like she has an assistant (I'm sure there's a posher title than that) that she can delegate too. Pleased because she has been burning too much midnight oil.
Might pop back later after the scissors have been put down. Need to dash, Mya needs a quick walk before I leave.
Lots of ? for you all.
Good morning Mick, Annie, and all.
Someone has just knocked the door wondering whether we are going to vote/have voted.
NO, we haven't, yet. I didn't wake up until 9.15, when DH brought me a cup of tea. So I evidently slept well, but boy am I stiff now, so need to get going, slowly. Feel better after a couple of croissants and more tea. Then I read my emails, and had to print off several bank letters
EkwaNimitee, we also had the 'blind' man here to measure up and give us a quote. But we are having the same colour in all rooms, and blackout ones this time. Should be here within 6-8 weeks, and I was very pleased with the cost of it all.
Love the hair cuts and colours, BlueSapphire and Urms. I have never had mine coloured, so it would be nice to try, but don't think I could be bothered with the upkeep.
Glad to hear the doggies are doing well.
The garden is looking better for being soaked the other day, and nothing seems to have been battered down. Mind you, I haven't actually been out to examine everything.
Beechnut you did make me laugh about your cleaner living under the stairs, and like others, I did wonder whether she was a live one, that you kept in seclusion. Ours was dragged out the other day, and has survived to live another day.
Glad to hear the kitchen upheaval is not too bad Cherry, I can remember ours being done, and I was at work at the time, so just used to let them get on with it.
Marydoll, here's hoping that you are beginning to feel a bit better, slowly, slowly does it. Take care.
Have a good day one and all.
Love the idea of a lazy gran training school, please can I enrol 'Urms*?
As you can imagine B9exchange places are much in demand. I can always add your name to a waiting list. On the other hand that would involve actually keeping one which would involve too much effort on my part, so of course you can enrol.
Good morning from a lovely sunny East Midlands. Shopping all done and put away. Now for an afternoon of knitting and sorting out wool for my next project. Stay safe and sane, not easy.
Good Morning All x.
Sunny at the moment though it was earlier too until a volley of hailstones. April showers with a difference.
I knew as soon as I entered the bathroom there'd be a knock on the door---it never fails
.
However, I managed to get myself halfway around the door and saw the familiar face of the postman with my kettle.
Poor man has never seen me dressed yet, meaning always being covered by a dressing gown and not a state of undress
I then boiled the kettle a couple of times before using it and had my breakfast at the same time. My little pan can be put away now then I'll try again to order the toaster to match, saying that, I've just done it while I thought on.
I'm flitting from one thing to another as usual and so saying I've just returned from the polling station.
So many crosses to do this time---police/mayor and usual locals. I took my chances while there was a break in the clouds.
Got back in time for a phone-call from a support officer, then while I was on the phone another knock on the door. It was a delivery man with a parcel from M&S , no note, don't know who it's from or anything so double-checked that it was mine. It is and it's 3 jars of different honey and looks delicious and will go well with the crumpets.
What a strange day this has turned out to be
.
I haven't really done a tap yet and it's lunchtime already.!
Ah well, time will never wait for anyone.
Have a good day everyone take care and stay safe.xx
PS, if I hadn't gone to the polling station when I did, I know I wouldn't have bothered. Mornings are always my best time.
Solved the mystery of the parcel. It's one of 3 due to arrive and sent from my D in Oz for Mother's Day 2nd Sunday in May ( there ) A lovely surprise considering I already received gifts as well in March.
Isn't it exciting being a mum, you never know the minute ? Life's full of surprises of ( all kinds )
What happened yesterday that was so awful - didn’t pick up?
Was it that bad?
Hello purplepixie. I am just putting a stash busting blanket together. A photo when it’s done ...
Lovely suprise Ellan
Off to bed in a min, late here nearly 11.30 pm. Been watching an old DVD of War and Peace this evening. The BBC are so good at the costumes and sets. Started to watch ‘ The Handmaids Tale’ but just a bit too nasty this season.
Just heard from DD that she didn't get the job she had the interview for a week ago. She isn't surprised but I suspect is disappointed. I told her there is something else waiting for her around another corner. Hope I'm right!
That's disappointing Gagagran if a tad worrying too, such a shame. Perhaps the next will be better as sometimes things happen for a reason. I hope so.
I knew I was doing it all wrong Urmston, I always made the best cuppa
Here was me thinking it was all about compliments ( rolls eyes ) a bit late now.
Lovely hair again BlueSapphire. You ladies are putting me to shame, but-----one of these days
( when Nelson gets his eye back )
I have a suspicion someone from GN has been training DH, he always insists 'you are so much better at ironing than me' and 'your cooking is far superior' - why do I fall for it?!!
Commiserations for your daughter Gaga. Even though she wasn’t hopeful there’s always a tiny bit of one that thinks ‘you never know’.
x
Yes ladies (EV and Bbev) too late have you realised it’s all about reverse psychology. That’s why becoming a fully fledged #lazygran isn’t as easy to achieve as one may suppose. It takes years of forward planning, patience and perseverance. Due diligence is required but trust me, once achieved, the results pay dividends.
