Good morning from a dull Leicestershire.
Many congratulations Scentia what a beautiful girl.
How exciting for you Harri I am seeing mine at the weekend.
Backseat Driver, Former PM Tony Blair Reckons The Triple-Lock...
Good Morning Everyone,
Its a grey and wet start here in Brackley this morning, today i have my 2nd jab later this morning.
My plan is to get the bus to the medical centre ,and then make my way to bicester getting the bus close to the medical centre.
later returning to watch cycling on TV.
Take Care,
Mick
Good morning from a dull Leicestershire.
Many congratulations Scentia what a beautiful girl.
How exciting for you Harri I am seeing mine at the weekend.
Good morning from a dry Morecambe Bay. Congratulations on the little one Scentia
Woke up to a text from DS3 who booked his jab at 7.00 this morning. He was thrilled when I messaged him last night to stay he could book from this morning.
I’m often asked what my favourite plant is. My answer varies it depends on the season but this one a paeony commonly known as Molly the Witch is definitely on the list. The bees like it too.
Take care and stay safe everyone
Good morning from Durham - very grey and overcast. My first visit to Newcastle yesterday for nearly a year - hit a pothole, resulting in a flat tyre! Couldn’t budge wheelnuts so had to call out breakdown. Interesting trip home at 48mph on emergency wheel in rush hour.
Congratulations to scentia and family, my DD2 has been given 7/6 as admission date for her caesarean - will be pleased when both she and baby are safe and well.
Doggy wrangling later but coffee with a friend first.
Have a safe day everyone. X
All new posters - I would echo Marydoll’s comment. We are warm, supportive and welcoming, but as she says there is now a huge number of us and sometimes newbies get missed. This is emphatically not deliberate.
I hope the lurkers feel brave enough to join and, who knows, you might become one of the much commented upon regulars!
Good morning all from sunny Penruddock!! Today we are off to see my sister who we haven’t seen for 2 years (in person, that is). En route we will stop at Gretna Village, a shopping outlet that Marydoll would love!!
Super picture of your new GD Scentia hope everyone is well.
Yesterday we went to Cockermouth, birth place of William Wordsworth and Christian Fletcher, a nice little town where the rain managed to hold off. Glad you managed to get to Prestwick, marydoll. The beach must be a mess now the Parkstone Hotel is being demolished- so sad there’s only one hotel left and it’s the one my wedding reception was held!!
Keep well everyone, have the best day possible!
The photos as of Derwent Water from Keswick taken on Tuesday
We have the dry but cloud covered sky here in Nottinghamshire too. It seems the favourite weather for today!
What a lovely baby, Scentia, a lovely image to start the day.
Good luck with jab2, Mick.
It sound as if you walk at my speed, Urmstongran!
Yesterday I spent a couple of hours at the hospital while they checked if I’m fit to be ‘done’ next week. I think I passed.
About your last sentence, marydoll, I’m relatively new, as you know. I haven’t found this thread unwelcoming. I realise that many of you ‘know’ each other well, and I have enjoyed trying to get to ‘know’ you all too. It’s not easy always to remember who has done what, but worth the effort. I just enjoy reading all the news, and often have a giggle. Thank you all.
Enjoy the day.
Good morning all. Low clouds in Polmont and it doesn't look great. Yesterday was so wet most of the day. It is milder at nights though so hopefully no more threat of frost. I had a fairly busy day yesterday. Haircut first then I had to buy a gift for a new baby. Then my usual visit to mum, then to my friend for coffee. Back home and a long WhatsApp chat with friends in the afternoon. I had put makeup on for the first time in ages and it has upset my skin. It's probably out of date so I'll throw it away and buy new stuff. I rarely wear makeup.
Congratulations Scentia on your beautiful new granddaughter. That's such a lovely photo.
Today is a nothing planned kind of day. I enjoy the quiet on a Thursday. I wish the weather was better so I could enjoy being in the garden more. I'll potter about. Whatever your plans are, have a good day all.
Noooooo Gwen, stop teasing!!!!??????? I never leave there empty handed. ?
I sound such a shallow person.
I can assure you, I am ?
Heartwarming picture, huge congratulations Scentia!
Good morning all.
Congratulations Scentia - beautiful baby.
Yesterday was a good day. A health worry concerning 16 year old granddaughter turned out fine . I had an impromptu lunchtime chat with DS in his garden and I managed to post a photo on Gransnet without too many choice words !
Not much happening today but Zoom choir late afternoon with a great bunch of friends. That'll do me.
Have as good a day as possible all.
Good morning everyone. Wet here in the Gower this morning.
What a gorgeous baby your new DGD is Scentia ? Congratulations to your DD, you and the rest of your family.
It was quite an odd day yesterday. The kitchen flooring wasn't done after all ?. Instead we had a visit from the plumber querying the fitting of a toilet
. It's the kitchen we're having done! Surely people don't fit toilets in their kitchen ?. We certainly have no intention of doing that! He explained. When I was making my kitchen plans, to ensure the completed works would be safe for me, I had an OT assessment. Apparently my OT recommended I also have a safer toilet ? and a wet room to boot. Not sure why that was done and I've had no discussion about it, until yesterday. Very odd ?. Anyway, the flooring had better be done today!!
Urmstongran, should we all be using #Geisha t address you now ?. I have very clear images .... very elegant ?
Susan I hope your DD is feeling a little better today and that appointment goes ahead ASAP ? ?
Must dash ... knock on the door!
Take care everyone ❤️
I've just seenMarydoll's post about this thread being cliquey. I've been on here for a year or thereabouts. I haven't found it cliquey. I don't expect that my posts will always elicit comments as there are lots of people with very interesting stories. I have had many kind comments over the year or so and also lovely messages from some posters. New people are welcomed.
Good morning Michael and all GNs. Hope the second jab goes okay, Mick. Weak sunshine in South Yorkshire so we might get the garden planting finished today. Nothing other planned except the weekly shop, and maybe a short walk. I expect that after the luxury of the dry footpaths we have had recently, all the rain will have turned them into a quagmire again.
Lovely baby, Scentia. What a joy!
Have a good day folks.
Good Morning all from the drizzly, damp Scottish Borders.
Congratulations to clan Scentia on the arrival of a bonnie wee lass ?
Lovely news from Harrigran and Dragonfly who haven't seen their families for so long. I hope others are able to meet up again.
I love the pictures of Cockermouth- a place I am fond of. I hope to go to the Lakes in June with DS and family but we are waiting to hear if the campsite is reopening.
If not, they will come and stay with me here which will be equally nice.
Sadly, cases of covid are still around and there is a drop-in testing centre for people without symptoms to check up on our community.
Decluttering today - at least an hour before I can be #lazygran
Hoping you all have a nice day, clique that you are
Good morning from a sunny East Yorkshire. I’m one of the lurkers I’m afraid but do read the posts most days. I have to say I have had responses when I have replied. With “thyroid” brain I find it difficult to keep up with all the messages and who or what I want to say.
Anyway I’m here today. Congratulations to Scentia and your family. What a lovely photo. My dear friend became a granny for the first time yesterday to a beautiful baby boy. I’m so happy for her as her daughter had a few problems along the way to motherhood.
Today for the first time in about a month I have an empty and it feels amazing! We have had workmen here doing various jobs in and outside the house. I’m writing this whilst still in bed after being up early for there arrival each day. Glad to have the work done but not it’s taken it’s toll on DH and me we are shattered. One of the jobs was a complete new bathroom. After years of putting up with a muchly neglected one oh how I love it. So worth the upheaval. Anyway that is it no more work in the house just done decorating in a month or twos time. It’s all with a view to sell later on. I think DH and I are looking at a little break away some time soon.
Despite the empty I have lots to do as now the whole house needs a thorough clean mm I’m no domestic goddess but must be done.
Wishing everyone a good day whatever is in store.
Good morning from a grey and rainy Black Country.
I finally had my hair cut yesterday after over 15 months. It is still longer than I used to have it though.
Had a lovely catch up with my ex Manager before hand, time goes so quickly. It never used to at work!
Congratulations Scentia, a joyous day indeed.
I hope your DD feels better soon Susan it is always a worry when our children are ill.
Wishing you all a lovely day
Good morning all from a dull overcast and cold start to the day on the east coast of Fife. Yesterday’s weather after a sticky start turned our real summery. Hope today warms up.
Congratulations Scentia on the birth of your beautiful baby grandchild so pleased to hear mother and baby are both well, let the fun begin.
I think I’ll rest up today I had disappointing news
yesterday there’s going to be no more physio input it seems,
however I’m not finished just yet I’ve contacted those who have the power to change things. Fingers crossed.
Now that I’m up and on my feet I made a mushroom omelette yesterday with support from my lovely carer it tasted yummy even with the odd burnt bit, practice makes perfect as they say
have a good day everyone
NannyJan what beautiful hair you have. I am so envious. Mine seems to be getting thinner and thinner due to the medications I am on and of course the chemo I had.
Good morning all.
Congratulations to Scentia and all her family.
Susan56 glad your daughter is now getting some help.
Had a lovely lunch yesterday in the sun.
DD3 has just called me to say she has booked a week away for me, her and DGS . We spoke about it yesterday and she didn’t waste any time ! Really looking forward to it.
Quiet day for me but I think we may go on a trip tomorrow.
Hope you all find a ? today.
Good morning from S Lanarkshire and many congratulations to Scentia and her family, what a lovely photograph! A glimpse of happiness!
I have not found any cliqueyness on this thread, and indeed real support some times. I don’t post every day because often there is nothing to say but, like others, enjoy a glimpse into other lives. I would miss it enormously if it disappeared.
Grey and damp morning with the highlight of the chiropodist and the hairdresser to tidy DH’s sparse locks. Ought to tackle a cupboard but may wait until the feeling passes.
Good morning, Mick and everyone from a sunny Carlisle. According to the weather man, northwest England has the best of it today.
I have to drive southwards later to sign papers at my solicitor's. I have acknowledged increasing old age by appointing my sons as power of attorneys though I hope they won't need to actually do anything for a long while if ever. My solicitor says it's not just for the older folk, everyone should have one but I guess it's like making a will, younger people may think it's inviting trouble.
That's a fine, healthy looking baby, Scentia. Beautiful photo. I always think babies look a bit unsure about being in the world...after you've been snugged up for months in the quiet warm dark, to be thrust out, literally, into noisier brightness must be something of a shock.
Well, I'm off to do a bit of gentle housework, it never ends.
Hopefully, everyone has the best day possible.
Thank you Mary it was easy at the hospital. The nurse had no trouble getting my blood. Results of that and Dexters biopsy today!
Good morning Mick and all, we have the same weather as Ash here on the S Welsh coast.
A beautiful baby Scentia, many congratulations.
How annoying Cherry I hope your floor is sorted today.
I hope your daughter feels a bit better today Susan, it must be a great relief for her to know that you are there to look after the grandchildren.
Stay safe everyone.
