Good Morning Monday

Good morning, Mick and everyone from sunny Carlisle though I won't be putting the washing out as showers threaten. They were vicious yesterday afternoon, one being a prolonged hail shower. It's rather warmer today.
I've just been struggling to bring a bit of order into my garage. There's a lot of stuff in there I'm hoping will soon be taken away. We used to spend whole winters away in our caravan perfectly happy without all this paraphernalia.
Do you know why you're down, grandMattie? We don't necessarily. Seeing more people, getting outside or simply a little TLC by you for you helps. I hope it's nothing more serious than that.
Me, I'm having to kickstart myself with lots of boring things involving the housework word to do but for the moment it's mid-morning break time.

Good morning Mick and all from - not so bad, 17° - Lueneburg.
First of all I want to wish grandMattie a happy time (I sometimes have those moods as well) and Urms you make me smile. Grandmafrench hope the bruising is not too bad and Marydoll : I love to browse in charity shops.
I just had an hour telephone conversation with my elder sister here in Lueneburg. I have not seen her for quite a while, because she often has her grand children for a week.
I am going to buy some boxes for my removal. My lovely DIL is filling out lots of forms for me. My son has been to cut the grass at my house. They have met the neighbours which are very nice. Also there is a neighbourhood Watch. They are looking out for the house and said, that they are helping each other with lots of things. So, it seems to be a happy area I am going to live in.
Maybe some ironing and gardening (weather permitting) later. I am making notes of all the beauty spots which you are visiting on this chat. I shall try and visit a few when I am over there.

It's a very grey and humid morning here in South Yorkshire. We are forecast rain and storms this afternoon, which, if it happens, will be a repeat of yesterday afternoon when we had another storm with lightening, thunder and hail.

Just got back from the dentist and luckily no additional work needed this time, just a clean on Friday.

To all feeling low I hope today brings some comfort.

Better keep those windows open today, Maw, just in case! ?

Nothing else on the agenda today, other than the usual chores.

Good morning from West Sussex where a dark cloud has just spread itself over my little back garden. I should have got going earlier - I need to sow the remaining seeds whose packets are spread out on the table from when I started ‘sorting’ them weeks ago. DH does most of the veg at the allotment so I just need to brighten up the garden’s empty spaces with some butterfly and bee attracting annuals ???

Marydoll I’m sorry your shopping forays are still impeded but I hope not for too long.

What with Brook’s photos of her holiday spot and watching Paul Murton roaming the north-west coast in Grand Tours of Scotland’s Lochs, I really want to be up there! We will explore some more of our local area in the meantime. I have a long list of places to visit and if this past year has taught us anything it is ‘don’t put off’.

A patch of blue sky has appeared so I will get myself outdoors. I hope a patch of blue sky will appear in the dark cloud for you GrandMattie and any others feeling down ?

Good Morning all from drizzly Harrogate - sorry I missed yesterday, but with good reason!!
On Saturday DD2 phoned to ask if I could have DGS because she wasn't feeling too good, she asked if he could stay overnight! Anyway Satuday morning I had to go to Leeds to get my phone sorted before the guarantee ran out, so said i would pick him up after lunch. (which I did) the DH had to go an pick up the dog from DD1. At 7pm (as instructed) I tucked dgs into bed (my bed, as spare bedrooms to remote from the4 house). I read him a story settled him down. later there was a kerfuffle in my room so went to investigate - no
gs found him sitting in DH's bed with a wide grin!! I got him back into my bed, read another story and he settled down - for those who don't know, he has Down Syndrome and is a very small 7 year old. When I got into bed and settled down, there were arms and legs everywhere, at one point i found a limb in my mouth!! It was a very long night. In the morning he had breakfast and refused to get out of his PJs. I suggested we went to the swing park. He got dressed, went to the park and he ran and ran past the swings until se nearly got to a road when he turned tail and ran up a hill with me puffing and panting and slithering on the wet grass. DH just strode behind him. He eventually cam back down and went to the swings, phew!! He's such a monkey. I was quite relieved when DD decided she was much better and wanted him back for tea.
Sorry you are feeling blue, GM remember there could be a. pink flamingo round the corner!!

DD here from the south so it’s lovely to have someone else around apart from the dear cat (the difference between sinking into depress through lockdown)
Nice spicy chicken meal with her last night, but slept badly as I felt so happy to have one of my chicks with me! Plus a bad dose of cramp..
She’s off now to lunch in our now trendy village and I will sort through papers ugh. Don’t feel up to painting or drawing today but need to jetwash the back patio.
Just started a massive book Henry VIII and his court by Alison Weir given to me by my boyfriend ?, looks good.

Hello all dear Gransnetters, its good to hear all your news . Here in Sidmouth it is raining again. The flat above has a large patio above my hall and it is leaking. I have had to put a basin underneath and now the ceiling is developing a bulge. I emailed the owner and she reminded me that previous leaks had been fixed and I had not paid £250 which she wanted at the time. I fail to see why I should pay anything when it is her patio which is leaking and nothing to do with me. So I guess she will not be fixing it.
I am in a converted flat in a very old house. I've been here 17 years. Recently the basement flat at the rear of the property was bought by a middle aged couple. That flat also includes what is called the curtilage, which is the ground surrounding the house. To my horror I discovered one morning that the new owner had chopped down most of the rhododendrons bordering the drive. They were all in bud. I managed to stop her destroying the last few and they are coming out in beautiful shades of purple and pink. She said she wants to create a car park area. On Friday I heard the dreaded sound of a circular saw and went out to find a man sawing down our huge bay tree. He said the owner wanted it down and also the other trees bordering the drive. I was livid, and the owner arriving at the time and I had a barney at once. She said the land has never been managed and was full of weeds and brambles. Other people arrived and they too were horrified, but as she insisted it is her land and she will do as she wants. She wants to make a car park.... She said there is not enough car parking for everyone at the moment... but we have a lot of large vehicles every day belonging to builders who are remodelling another flat here. They are due to finish soon. Now the owner never finished clearing up the mess from the cut down rhododendrons and now there are the remains of 4 huge trees on top of it... I hate living in a flat.
