I really love our house but having just had the hall redone, after a horrendous leak that last 18 months, I really relish the bit of the hall that leads to the downstairs loo.

Is it just me or are there odd bits of your house that bring joy or am I really odd?

My, sorry, our, new kitchen, done in November, I’ve never had a new kitchen that I, oops we, chose, I marvel at it every day, any little mark gets wiped off ?. And we can now share it with friends/family, I’ll be right behind them with a wipe!

The bath in the scond bathroom. It came with the house and was installed in the 1960s. It is made from about half inch thick plastic, so no flexing, is wonderfully wide, with a back that slopes at just the right angle.

When we took the downstairs bathroom out and installed one upstairs, I insisted that the bath was transferred to the new bathroom. I love lying in this bath, looking out of the window, the bathroom is at the back and not overlooked so no obscured glass, just a wood effect venetian blind, adjusted so that I can see through the slats to the trees and greenery outside. Paradise

My little ensuite shower room, which was created by knocking together the old airing cupboard on the landing and a built-in cupboard off the bedroom. So two square spaces became a small rectangular room.
My husband refuses to use it because of the electric shower, as the gas-powered one in the main bathroom is more powerful, so this little ensuite is all mine. Bliss ?

Our living room.
It’s a technology free zone.
No TV, music or computers.
Just a room to read and talk.

The 18ft of glass window (self cleaning) in our 2nd home. The view is beautiful.

It has to be my new washing machine. I'm delighted with it.

After having had the other one for 16 years I can't believe the difference this new one makes to the washing.
I'll be doing my large living room curtains in it when the weather's more settled for drying, as it has a lovely large drum.

Our conservatory. Its full of light and large enough for the family to gather on the few occasions we all manage to get together. A lovely space, summer and winter.

The conservatory.
Such a relief and so lovely when I can take a brew in there and sit down on a damp afternoon, looking out at the garden.

We purchased a king sized bed and mattress a year ago and it still feels like a luxurious marvel. We both land in it with a heavy sigh.
