It’s late May- and it’s cold. I haven’t yet turned my heating off it’s still on the same settings as it was in January. Anyone going by the calendar?

This couldn’t be more different to last year. Here’s to some sunshine. For us all wherever we are, but would rather be where newatthis is (even if 40 is a mite too hot).

Mine hasn’t been off and today I had to turn it up further. Brr

Don't seem to need mine on in the morning, but find that the house gets cold in the afternoon. Put mine on a couple of hours ago.

Mine comes on automatically if the temperature drops below a certain temperature, I'm a hot house plant during the day so I often turn it on manually with the colder weather we're having at the moment.
At night I'm the opposite, summer duvet and window open.

Off, but using the halogen heater in the sitting room when reading or watching tv.
Nice to read that people are putting their heating on, I might give in as it’s miserable and I’m wearing a body warmer. I face the Irish ‘ocean’, the last road before the dunes and sea. No wonder people emigrate.

On, I’ve been traipsing around garden centres, got soaked, it’s windy and cold!

3dognight Thu 20-May-21 16:46:28

I’ve only just started leaving my vest off yesterday grin

My heating is on 20.5 degrees.

If I’m active in the house it gets turned down a couple of degrees, but if I’m on the sofa it’s always on 20 or 21 if it’s a miserable May Day.

40 Celcius here so no!

On the way home from DD house will put the heating on as soon as I get in. Packed away my jumpers two weeks ago but have been digging them out again. I am always cold I can't stand the damp either.

I’m one of those people who leave my heating unchanged throughout the year. It’s set at 18 degrees from 7 am to 10 pm them at 10 degrees overnight. At the moment it is coming on in the mornings for a couple of hours or so before the house reaches 18 degrees but if I am cold I just turn the thermostat up to 20.

I refuse to be cold in my house or to get out blankets when I have central heating - if my nose is cold, the heating goes on! Luckily I can afford to pay my energy bills as I have a decent pension and don’t lead an extravagant lifestyle.

It won’t be long before the tv is full of news about folks in London and the SE sweltering in a heat wave while those of us in the north are still in the depths of winter!

Of course it’s on, it’s bloody freezing here! Never been off!

Same here. I don’t do cold ?

I am in the south east, Our heating is on morning and evening but had to click the override on this afternoon. My hands are so cold, it’s like winter here with a fierce wind and too much rain. Here comes summer? If only!

nanaK54 Thu 20-May-21 16:24:17

Just put it on a minute ago...it is flippin' freezing

crazyH Thu 20-May-21 16:22:48

My heating is on today, The hose was very cold.

Katyj Thu 20-May-21 16:20:58

Mine is set at 18 it’s just clicked on. Miserable cold and wet day today in Yorkshire.

AGAA4 Thu 20-May-21 16:16:12

My thermostat is set at 15 degrees and the heating has come on today.

I never turn the heating off whatever time of the year it is. It is controlled by the Thermostat so if the weather is warm enough the Boiler won't come on but obviously it will when the weather is unseasonably cold.

Exactly the same

Rufus2 Thu 20-May-21 15:19:27

Good to see that things are "getting back to normal" in the Old Dart with every one moaning about the weather again. grin

Actually it's quite Autumnal here in Melbourne, probably because it is Autumn, so Winter can't be far behind; in 10 days actually!
Must dig out my knitted bed-socks; the Sky Blue ones! hmm
Cheers

Yes, and we have just lit the multifuel stove! It is a cold wind today and you have to keep warm otherwise it is miserable!

SueDonim Thu 20-May-21 14:51:43

Still? It’s not been off, yet! I’m in NE Scotland and it’s been such a cold spring. Comparing photos with last year, we’re weeks behind in the garden. ?

Kim19 Thu 20-May-21 14:43:50

No. Mine is off unless I have fragile visitors.

aggie Thu 20-May-21 14:42:46
