Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s bright and dry, just a few grey clouds in the sky. I think warmer weather is eventually on the way for everyone at the end of next week - fingers crossed...

Yesterday I had a lovely day, DD2 and DGC came round for lunch and stayed most of the day. DD2 felt a bit tired so took herself off for a nap whilst I entertained the DGC. Nothing like making yourself feel at home is there...I didn’t mind though and she even said the bed was comfy!
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings ?

It’s blue sky but chilly here, I have absolutely nothing planned for today other than going OUT for a late Sunday lunch, just the two of us, I am so excited.

Good morning everyone from a greyish Northampton, but the sun is trying its best.

Spent yesterday afternoon knitting and watching an old epic film 'The Fall of the Roman Empire' which I'd recorded ages ago. Kept me out of mischief! Old stalwarts in it such as Alex Guinness and Sophia Loren. Must find something else for this afternoon as more heavy showers are forecast.

I also managed a few more chapters of my current book 'Mythos', Stephen Fry's retelling of the Greek myths. And then watched the European rugby cup final, two French teams, so didn't really mind who won. (It was Toulouse.)

Bacon butty for breakfast, and roast turkey breast for dinner tonight; it will probably do me two or three meals.

Hope we all find a bit of sunshine ? somewhere today.

As well as throwing out lots of unnecessary ‘stuff’, I’ll be batch cooking for the freezer. It’s too gusty to be out on my bike.

Good morning Mick and all from Cloudy Chambers northwest Lancashire coast. Off in a min to join coach for a day trip up to the Lakes, dressed as if for a late autumn day, layers and a scarf.
These outings are rather exciting after months of not much happening. As always with a treat or otherwise, did not sleep well the night before. My brain seems to say “Right, you want a good nights sleep? Well ha ha ha!”?
I’m quite a geek on these trips,map, flask of coffee, sarnies, book, back support and even a gadget to clip to the front seat which I can put my feet into for a rest. It’s important to get out of the house to enjoy coming home.
Last night I watched a film from 2000, House of Mirth based on an Edith Wharton novel with Gillian Anderson, excellent. I may have seen it before, the period dramas are blending into one. Wharton is one of my favourite novelists.
Thoughts to the troubled and hope you all have a nice day.

Good morning from Leicestershire where the sun seems to have left us.

How lovely to spend the day with family kitty enjoy.
Your DD obviously has realised that the being married part is important Marydoll not the ceremony. What a sweet girl she is - hope you have forgiven her for locking you in.

We will spend the day sorting out what we have to take down south on Thursday. DS was texting all day yesterday with plans for our visit.

Hoping Grandmajet is recovering well and we hear from her soon.

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it looks a little grey.
I have the Guinea Pigs to clean out snd a bit of ‘pottering’ in the garden but very little else today.
I have sorted my kitchen cupboards out and was surprised to see some chilli oil that expired in 2012. I moved to this house in 2015 so why did I bring an expired bottle of oil with me?

It is our little one's birthday party in the garden this afternoon, she is five tomorrow. The forecast is for rain unfortunately, she has invited twelve classmates.

Good morning all from a very sunny but nippy sort of a day here on the east coast of Fife. Our friends are taking us to lunch today and sad ol me has been perusing the restaurants menu well in advance.

I had the most delicious steak and chips for dinner last night the first in a long while due to an irritable gall bladder. I was beginning to think I was needing to become a vegetarian. Thankfully things have settled down again with gaviscon to hand if necessary, sorry if I’m boring you all with my culinary delights.

Good morning Mick, morning all from South Lanarkshire where it’s dry but rather grey.

DH’s sister has a new grandchild so we went shopping yesterday for baby clothes, little things are so sweet. I also picked up gifts for forthcoming birthdays. Last year all shopping was done online so it’s good to be in actual shops again.

That’s a beautiful building MD, I used to pass it often when DD lived nearby years ago. Oh and my paternal GM was in service to the Coats family as a girl.

Sunday papers, the Archers Omnibus and dog walking. That’s about the size of it today.

Hope it’s a peaceful day for everyone.

Good morning all from Portugal. It’s sunny and bright which is always a blessing but the temperature has dropped dramatically in the last 24 hours. That combined with the strong wind makes it feel about 10° lower suddenly. DH said that he hoped to sleep in this morning so I’ve brought my cup of tea back to bed for the time being.

Late night photos from GD showed a surprise lunch with the whole family gathered in her cousin’s garden. That combined with an earlier glass or two of red wine left me an emotional, snivelling ? mess.

Good morning from a dull and cloudy Black Country.

We were lucky yesterday at DD's for a family get together BBQ. We arrived and 4pm and it was fairly sunny and didn't rain! The birthday girl had a lovely Panda cake made by DD. Apparently Panda's are now the 'in' thing. It was so lovely to be together, being almost 'normal'. We have all had both jabs now, even DD who is 42.

Plans today are to be prepared for going down to the caravan again tomorrow. Then Wednesday we are taking it to Lyme Regis for a week, So ironing etc and food planning today.

Good Morning, Mick and all from Carlisle. There's nothing good about it though, there was heavy cloud when I got up and now it's a heavy rain shower. I think I can rule out mowing the lawn today.
I was going to go out in search of British asparagus and lampshades but I'm expecting a delivery of bookcases so I'd better stop in. It will be a pleasure to unpack some more of my boxes of books. Even the shelves that are coming won't hold them all. My last property had two walls of shelves, constructed by DH, so I was spoilt. Both myself and DS1 are finding it difficult to find large, sturdy ready-assembled bookcases for heavy hardback books. At least I know that todays arrivals have solid thick wood shelves.
I've started scanning old photos into the Mac so that will occupy a wet day and hopefully start a bit of de-cluttering as I won't be hanging on to the original prints. I had a big box of them so some will probably have to go to a scanning service as I don't want to spend years on the job as I did with my slides.

Another good morning from S Lanarkshire where I’m feeling a bit tired and must give myself a shake. Nothing exciting planned, I’ll make ham and lentil soup to take with me tomorrow when I go to look after my two young GC after school. They love Lanark Soup , it doesn’t matter what kind!

My favourite virtual church service this morning, in Ireland, and a quiet day thereafter. Remembering Grandmajet and hoping she’s okay and recovering.

A bit dull in Cheshire today. DGS's birthday bouncy castle this afternoon - rain forecast. Such a shame as last year's birthday was in lockdown.

Morning everyone, grey but dry here (Scottish Borders) Just listened to the service on radio four. Came from St. Tudno's on the Great Orme in Llandudno. One of my favourite towns. Brought up near there. Took me back. Going for short drive later. So lucky to be somewhere that a minute out of the front door you meet beauty. Nothing else planned. I hope everyone has a good day as possible. I believe good weather on its way in June...

I need to get the dining room, living room and conservatory ready for tomorrow’s decorators. They move on to the kitchen and utility later in the week so lots of disruption. Hope it’s worth it.

Morning Mick, morning All from a windy, cloudy, chilly corner of Somerset.

Lunch out yesterday proved to be eventful or rather the getting there did. The closest car park was two thirds closed with not a space to be seen. Why the closure ? No idea! Eventually securing a space elsewhere we were buffeted along the sea front, horrible wind. We felt we had earned our lunch which was excellent.

Summer clothes sorting for me today, you never know I may get to wear some one day. Mr C has promised to iron yesterday’s washer load. Roast beef later and that will be the day gone.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where the weather is “iffy”. Had a walk through the woods with DD yesterday at her end, lamenting the lack of bluebells and suddenly there they were, looking glorious with the sun on them. We are supposed to be going to watch GS play football this morning - if we can find the pitch. It was supposed to be on a ground we know pretty well, but now it’s been changed and is out in the sticks somewhere. Other than that, we have a quiet day. Roast chicken for dinner. Grey and the odd shower so far. Scrambled egg on its way then we're straight off to test drive a car.

Overcast again in SW Herts. Some lovely news of your outings up thread, glad you are managing to get out again. Ash I hope your had your Michelin man kit with you to keep you warm! It is sad so many of you are still stuck with virtual church, we have been back at ours for some weeks now, but I suppose being a cathedral, there is the room!

Well the new freezer arrived yesterday, but instead of having an internal water filter, this one on the latest model has to be fitted outside the freezer, which idiot thought that one up!! Our kind neighbours had helped us pull the old one out and disconnect it, but it would not have been fair to ask them to tackle drilling and plumbing, so back to our trusty plumber, who lived in the house recently when we had shower valve problems. Having waited for the new fridge/freezer to 'settle', Sid arrived and spent an hour and a half pumbing in the water, drilling holes in an adjacent cupboard and fitting the filter in there, and then taking great care to get it to the recommended 6.37mm slope to the back (yes really!!) when the front adjusters wouldn't screw down enough and we had to finally use a couple of old dinner mats underneath, fortunately not visible. At the end of all that I asked him how much we owed, and he wouldn't accept a penny, said we had paid him enough last time - what an absolute gem!

Very excited today as off to Gloucester for three days in a hotel. A different bed, and no cooking, imagine that! Bit worried that the cat sitter coming in has been asking where we keep the first aid kit - apparently she is on warfarin...

Saw this flamingo yesterday and just had to share it on here ?.

Seeing all the family later for the first time in a long time.. DGS is 7 today and DGD 13 tomorrow so there will be an exchange of presents at DD’s this afternoon. Will be lovely to see all the DGC and have some hugs.
