Do you still have a daily newspaper?

My parents always had a newspaper delivered, and when I got married in 1981, we “signed up” with the local newsagent. It seemed like a rite of passage, we were grown up!
We are lucky, as this newsagent still delivers, though of course, not many do now.
However, he has closed the shop for the last few days, presumably for a traditional period of mourning as his mother has died.
We have really missed that morning paper! Today I went to two local shops to get one, and I wonder how many people would actually bother. Why not just read it online? It’s just not the same though.
Anyone agree?

Oh yes. We have to have the paper delivered Mon-Fri. I can't do anything until I've read it from cover to cover and fine the various puzzles.

No I stopped about 30 years ago

I read newspapers, but only online. It’s many years since I had one delivered. When I did, it was the Guardian, but I prefer to read different points of view. My Guardian-only friends think like Guardian readers, Daily Mail readers think like the Daily Mail. It’s very limiting to read only one paper, and online I can read two or three without cluttering up the house.

On Sundays I used to buy the print editions of both the Observer and the Sunday Times. That was a lot of bulky newsprint!

No I've never bought a daily paper.

Saturday treat, I used to get one every day when I was working....rather ironic!

Telegraph delivered every day; couldn't do without it. I do the puzzle page and read the news with my mid-morning coffee, and the crosswords and features after lunch.

Yes; online.

I get most of my news online these days, but we still have a Saturday Guardian and Sunday Observer delivered. With the supplements there’s loads of reading in them. We still have the Radio Times delivered on subscription too. And a local paper that takes about 5 minutes to read, but DH likes to support it. smile

Yes, Times and Sunday Times, we wouldn’t be without them.
First thing I do most days is the word puzzles. We also have the Times online, but I rarely use it.
Dh will spend a good hour with the paper every morning. I’m more of a flick-through type.

No! They're all full of lies, deceit and contravasory! The only thing I believe in a newspaper is the date and price at the top of the front page.

Great for making compostable plant pots though ?

I use the free newspaper to line the cats' litter tray

Not anymore, just read online...saved a fortune!

I have never had a newspaper delivered but did used to buy a daily one. I stopped quite a long time ago and read the news online.

Never bother with a newspaper anymore, they are only full of things that are repeated and I can see online or on the T.V
news channel.

I have an online subscription to the i, the pages are the same as the actual print paper. I also read the Guardian online but as I don’t subscribe, it’s not the actual pages you see so not as good. It’s too far and time consuming to go to the shop every day.
