I found the key that soop left. I must complain that getting down to retrieve keys then getting up again is very tricky! Please leave them in a more accessible place in future. Anyway here’s a bottle of Dom Perignon and a large iced bowl of caviar to open the kitchen! ( we’re going posh this time!
I think I remember the Woodentops and Bill and Ben the Flowerpot Men! Also Andy Pandy and something about a moon? Blummin heck that’s going back a bit ! ?
I loved the wooden tops! And Noggin the Nog which was on in the morning sometimes. And the magic roundabout. See what you have (inadvertently) started JaxJacky?
Woodentops was my absolute favourite. I was born abroad, came back with my parents for a year and lived next door to a very elderly lady (she probably wasn't really, but to a 4 year old!!) who had a TV! The TV itself was a revelation but the wonderful Woodentops were a bigger one! Quite liked Andy Pandy too. And the daily ice cream or sweets treat from the elderly lady in question!!
Oh I loved the Woodentops.Does anyone remember Muffin the Mule?another of my favourites. Just about caught up with the washing, the worse part of coming home!Ive also spent ages trying to sort out a rheumatologist referral.MyG.P sent it early April and I’m told it’s still a very long wait.!!Sadly my only option is a private consultation not ideal at all. Thinking of Panache have a good Friday everyone.
Yes I remember Muffin the Mule. Andy Pandy too although my heart secretly belonged to Teddy. I loved him best. Woodentops was a big favourite. Such lovely little stories. Watch with mother ………..owning up to be old enough to remember it’s predecessor Listen with mother. Those were the days. I do worry for the young ones in these days of mobile phones. I wish mums and dads would put their phones away when out with their children and talk to them.
I was 11 when we first got TV in Scotland, so I was too old for Andy Pandy. My sisters, a bit younger, would watch anything and the little girl next door came round to see it every afternoon. Muffin the Mule (with Annette Mills) was a favourite too. I suppose nowadays, Peppa Pig is the equivalent, as well as the Night Garden characters. All my GC are too big for all that now, but I remember my first GD enjoyed Telletubbies and Balamory. When my sons were little, Playschool was a 'must', to the extent that DS2 called the TV set the 'paycoo'. I liked The Clangers!
Afternoon all, it’s very hot and humid here, think we may be in for a thunderstorm later. The plants could certainly do with some rain. I have managed to get out for a walk every day this week, albeit very short walks some days. Mr. B and I had a day out at Morecambe Bay yesterday. We didn’t go into the town as it looked rather busy and I and my dodgy balance don’t do well in crowds. I have sorted out several pairs of shoes for the charity shop, many in boxes. I have tried so many different types to suit my poor balance and drop foot, but decided after my cancer diagnosis that I was done conforming to society’s expectations. If I want to wear a ballgown and hiking boots then I will! Just call me RebelGran
Thats exactly right Blossoming you can wear just what you want to and who’s to say otherwise ? I love the idea of #rebelgran and why not - I think I’ll join you! We’ve just dropped the DGC off at home so I’m a bit weary and pleased it’s Friday ? Everybody is welcome in The Argy this evening, we’re getting our glad rags on, raising a glass and having a singalong in fond memory of our grandmajet Please pop in if you can - you’re all very very welcome
Just echoing brook’s message. It was grandmajet’s daughter who told brook she would like us to raise a glass in the Argy in memory of her mum tonight. Please drop in and join in the karaoke. Wear what you like and let’s celebrate the life of our friend grandmajet . Hope to see you later.
Very quiet, think everyone is in the Argy, ? to Grandmajet daughter and granddaughter on their way home from A&E, GD spilt boiling water down her front, ambulance job, she’s ok, back tomorrow for assessment, on my daughters 34th birthday. A traumatic four hours, hope your Friday has been calmer all. panache x
Thank you, they’re home, the ambulance dressed and gave her morphine, (she’s 13), hospital removed the skin ?, gas and air, redressed it. Reassessment tomorrow at 5, burn was from hip to mid thigh. It was the not knowing for me at home, nothing I could do, mightily relieved now. Our NHS are brilliant. X
