I found the key that soop left.
I must complain that getting down to retrieve keys then getting up again is very tricky! Please leave them in a more accessible place in future.
Anyway here’s a bottle of Dom Perignon and a large iced bowl of caviar to open the kitchen!
( we’re going posh this time!

Lovely, Puzzler61
I asked DH if he could identify it but no. He would like one, though, if anyone knows what it is.

brook2704 Thu 03-Jun-21 19:17:14

Hoping you’re feeling much better soon soop that’s the last thing you want after such a lovely few days with your family. But it’s good to hear your DS is home safely after a very long drive
I’ve had another busy day in the garden, it was beautiful weather this morning but a bit cloudy this afternoon. Lots done but there’s always plenty more to do. I’m sure DH gets quite exasperated with me as I’m always getting him to move things around to where I think they’d look better. Anyhow he doesn’t really complain as long as I keep him topped up with tea and biscuits ...
I’ve two DDs just like yours jaxj I always end up paying whenever we’re out. I know it’ll be an expensive day if either of them want to go shopping with me
Hope you’re better soon aggie take care

Doodle apologies, meant to thank you for your pm.
Photo of the wisteria I bought my daughter today.

A brief good evening from the Shire.

Does life get any better than this? A glorious day in the garden pottering and what have you. Now sitting out with a G&T provided by CH listening to the church bells which haven't rung for months. Surrounded by white blossom dripping trees and birdsong - we feel blessed.

Kate is coming up tomorrow so we will play kitchen catch up then

Beautiful colour Puzzler61

DD has taken on the responsibility of finding a company to provide some support for me with looking after DH. She is her mother’s bossy and organising daughter, and I am so glad to be sharing the load a bit, and am happy to admit I am not coping as well as I might. I suspect finding such help may be quite a slow business as some agencies don’t like the travel involved in coming to a rural area.

Glad to hear so much good news and that Fern is learning where she is well off.

dragonfly46 Thu 03-Jun-21 19:41:07

So sorry you have another UTI soop but pleased you had a lovely time with your son and his lovely girlfriend.

Sorry I missed your birthday Hallogirl.

We have all done that kitty. My holding order is 6 bottles of wine so it would not be a disaster in our house.

We had a wonderful weekend with the family. The DGC were delightful. The 3 year old boy told me he really liked Granddad but it was all right because his sister really liked me! So funny.

Sorry to have missed anyone TOYA.

brook2704 Thu 03-Jun-21 19:50:13

Awww I love that comment from your DGS dragonfly!!

Doodle Thu 03-Jun-21 19:54:42

No probs Jax hope you get on ok.
Izabella hope you have a lovely evening in your garden.
Grannysommerset I hope you get the help and support you need. Have some help to lighten the load works wonders for all concerned.
Dragonfly how lovely you are both liked ?

‘Evening All’.

A good day had by us. Quick trip to the Trafford Centre (5 mins up the road). Got what I wanted & a bit more besides.
?

Down to enjoy 2 wines & 2 beers at a different bar this afternoon 3pm till 6pm. In this sunshine I can pretend I’m in Malaga!
?

We chatted to people we knew as they were passing (3 sets, all from the hospital I used to work at - no surprise as it’s local too).

Hope we all have a peaceful night ahead. ? to you Doodle!

muse Thu 03-Jun-21 21:25:56

Good Evening all. Didn't post last night. I felt there would be more moans and groans from me than merriness and revelry. I can't promise the latter tonight but definitely the first.

I'm here Grandmafrench. It is so warming to read I'm missed.

Urms I picked up the phone this afternoon - and this time I sent a message. Backed out of ringing dear son. He prefers to choose his own convenient time for chats. Anyway, he instantly replied. He has accepted one of the jobs grin and should have started this week but there was a delay with a laptop so he officially starts next Monday. What the job entails, I await to be enlightened.

Jax and Brook DD and DGD are visiting soon so I won't be able to resist a treat or two for them both.

Puzzler my clems are way behind so it's lovely to see your photo. I'd love a spring or winter clem.

KittyL A good supply of beer then! My holding order is gin. Currently Beefeater Blood Orange one. Wish it was on offer then I'd stock up on purpose.

soop Do hope the UTI will calm down soon. I sympathise. Fortunately, these days I rarely get it. Do you know what is causing yours? I heard the profanities down here in Cornwall.

Good news about your son Susan. smile

I do hope the rain holds off for you RamblingRose. Nothing better than eating outside under a blue sky.☀️??? Welcome to GN.

Love to give everyone a mention. There was so much news to catch up on over the two days.

So that's the merriment, let the revelry begin. ?

Urmstongran Thu 03-Jun-21 21:52:53

Great news from you muse.
A happy son = a happy mum!
?

Jaxjacky Thu 03-Jun-21 21:59:30

As Urms has said muse, there is a veritable cheeriness to you tonight, long may it stay.
Puzzler I have a similar clematis in the new plantings, I’ll take a pic tomorrow if it still has its name tag.

brook2704 Thu 03-Jun-21 22:48:48

Such good news from your DS muse I hope he enjoys his new job and you get to find out a bit about it eventually ?

Nannytopsy Thu 03-Jun-21 23:50:06

Well done kitty. Our go to for orders is cat food and litter - tasty!

annodomini Thu 03-Jun-21 23:52:16

muse, what a relief to know that DS has at last decided which job to take. Sons can be a bit of an enigma. As I only have sons, I can't compare them with daughters. They're 48 and 50 now, so are the 'sandwich generation' - teenage kids and dopey mum!
Ramblingrose, I'm sure that by now you have picked up on what this group is about. It must be confusing to newbies if I'm still confused after ten years.
Izabella, I've another idyllic image of you in your garden with a sundowner G&T. Today hasn't been a day for napping in the garden here. There were rather ominous clouds around midday but not more than about three drops of rain. Like soop, I've been umpiring tennis matches in French. Good to see a Brit getting past the second round today. I had to watch the cricket highlights so that I can converse with my DSs!
Thanks for much concern about my wasp sting! It calmed down in time for me to have a good night's sleep and is now merely a painful memory.
soop, So very sorry about your latest UTI. Does your GP give you an emergency stock of antiBs? I wish they would come up with a solution for you as I know how that affliction can get you down.
Good night one and all moon

annodomini Thu 03-Jun-21 23:53:38

Correction: They'reand 50 They're 48 and 50!

Charleygirl5 Fri 04-Jun-21 07:14:00

My holding orders are long-life milk and loo rolls. At least they can be stored.

Each day is getting cooler than the previous one and showers are forecast today.

soop I cannot understand where Fern is hoarding all that food inside her! She is very well fed and is slowly beginning to trust you if she has crept indoors a few feet again. She does have an easy, fast exit.

I hope you are on antibiotics and you are resting.
TOYA

Great news Muse - my mother was German and one of her favourite sayings was
“ Kleine Kinder, kleine Sorgen. Große Kinder, große Sorgen”
The mention of Blood orange Beefeater gin reminds me of a wonderful day trip I had pre-pandemic which took us to an old fashioned but apparently famous taxi drivers fish and chip cafe Masters Superfish behind the Old Vic for a fish and chip lunch, accompanied by white bread and butter and ginormous brown pots of tea followed by a tour of the Beefeater distillery and gin museum (“drunk for a penny, dead drunk for twopence”) at the Oval with free tastings of the blood orange gin and another flowery “special edition”
We then rolled back on to the coach and ???? all the way back to Bedford!

Grandmabatty Fri 04-Jun-21 08:19:35

Muse such good news about your son. I'm sure you will breathe a big sigh of relief. I must be odd, Kittylester. I don't do a holding order. I just get the order done. I add to it as I only order once a month from Tesco but I pretty much know what I'll need. I hope Soop is feeling better today.

Susan56 Fri 04-Jun-21 08:34:56

Good news that your son starts his new job next week muse.

Hope you have antibiotics soop and are feeling better today?

soop Fri 04-Jun-21 12:51:05

muse Your news has made my day. grin

For all of you, my thoughts are with you and I am enjoying reading through your latest news and points of view.

I'm still feeling jaded and queasy and do have antibio's for such occurrences. My system is buzzing with a cocktail of meds for a variety of conditions. I shall therefore watch more tennis. Someone has to do it. May as well be moi. Keeps me out of mischief. wink

Puzzler61 Fri 04-Jun-21 13:19:49

Thank you JaxJ. Each large flower has an almost ruffled edge.

My holding items for grocery online are 3 large bottles of Pimms ? There is a theme emerging for items that are alcoholic.
Charleyg my Pimms is longlife too - if I could resist it.

Enjoying top class tennis and drinking Pimms go together far too well.

Virtually, soop , I am sitting beside you watching the tennis this afternoon. I shall fetch you drinks and a cushion for your utmost comfort. It is a good companiable way to pass a June afternoon - and we have Wimbledon to look forward to. ?

muse your son has secured a job (hurrah ? ) and is starting next week. Brilliant news and a relief for you. His recent anxieties will soon be a blip in the past. The future looks much brighter for him.

Wishing kitchen peeps a good day. ?

Puzzler61 Fri 04-Jun-21 13:23:33

The brightest flower blooming today in my garden is this one.
And I can supply the name
Geum : Mrs Bradshaw ?

Jaxjacky Fri 04-Jun-21 13:42:49

Puzzler don’t think it’s this one, Voluceau? just though I’d include the second, Rebecca, as it’s actually out!
