hellogirl belated birthday wishes ??
Horrible bacteria C. Difficile
Changing from a Manual car to an Automatic after driving manual for around 50 yrs
Why Does Oil Fluctuate Just On The Whims And Wishes Of Trump?
I found the key that soop left.
I must complain that getting down to retrieve keys then getting up again is very tricky! Please leave them in a more accessible place in future.
Anyway here’s a bottle of Dom Perignon and a large iced bowl of caviar to open the kitchen!
( we’re going posh this time!
hellogirl belated birthday wishes ??
Jaxjacky I have PMd you. ?
That’s me Urms very brave ?
A very happy if belated birthday hellogirl. You kept that one quiet
.
Delighted you have had such a happy time soop, wonderful memories I’m sure.
Welcome ramblingrose, all good wishes for tomorrow. Hope the outcome is positive. Do keep chatting here.
You’re a brave soul urms, go tell ‘em
.
Today’s dental medal to doodle, well done you. Mr C and I were with both hygienist and dentist today escaping with clean bills of dental health, the only stress was to our bank balance.
That mix of pleasure at success and worry for safety when young ones pass a driving test is one I well remember gillgran. Keep repeating all will be well as I am sure it will be.
Time for sleep here now. We’re off out for breakfast tomorrow, it would be good if I was awake for it
. Sleep well everyone.
A very warm welcome, Ramblingrose22 Us lot are pleased to have your company.
Urmstongran Rather you than me. I steer well clear of politics and religion. Safer that way.
Nannytopsy Will you bake a pizza for the kitchen? Something cheesy with a hint of garlic would be tasty.
brook and maddyone I am still on cloud nine. We haven't stopped reminiscing.
anno and ouch from me, too. We were waiting in a queue of cars yesterday as a car was being retrieved from a ditch. Car window open. In flew a wasp. I spent the entire time searching for it's whereabouts. Imagining it crawling up the leg of my jeans. I'm such a wimp.
gillgran A cause for celebration.
Doodle I remember such an occasion well. Bravo! You deserve all the respect coming your way.
Pals coming to collect a wee sofa that they kindly loaned us. Our M&S suite should be delivered within the next week or so. We are not pleased with M&S.
Grandmabatty Your photograph is delightful in every way.
GrannySomerset Doesn't it seem to take an age to recover from the buzz of visitors and the brave attempt to return to something akin to normal?
Our pals collected their wee sofa and stayed for coffee and a catch-up-chat. As we were talking, a certain pain began to take hold. Sure enough, a UTI is developing and I feel like a big bag of rubbish.
I have slipped into my baggy jim-jam bottoms, made a vast mug of tea and am preparing to put my feet up and catch some tennis. Only downside...the bloody adverts for cremation plans that pepper the afternoon. At these points, I mute the dialogue and shout very unladylike, toe-curling profanities.
You tell 'em soop!
sorry for my abrupt previous post! Sainsbury's arrived. Sadly, yesterday was a funny day and I forgot to save my changes to my Sainsbury's order and only got 4 boxes of 18 tins of Foster's Lager which I use to save my order. My friend once got 2 bottles of rum which she had also used to save her spot and then forgot to change. We could have a party I suppose. And, because I'm stupid, I had to go to Sainsbury's to do my shop!
Hey ho = to coin a well known phrase.
Welcome RamblingRose and ouch Anno.
TOYA!
Afternoon lovely peeps!
That's nice, soop - wonderful time with your dear boy and his dear girl, wonderful (if expensive) time with Sweetie Pie (the soon-to-be-rotund one), spirits lifted all round and now.......the buggeration of a UTI. Please do rest, keep hydrated and feel better soon. x
By the way, "I mute the dialogue and shout very unladylike and toe-curling profanities" is possibly nothing to what those crass and irritating advertisements deserve!
Sounds as if lots of happy stuff with families has been taking place - together with lots of weary Grans and bomb site houses to put back together. As long as fun was had in abundance, that's got to be the way to go forward now.
Belated Birthday wishes, Hellogirl, hope you and yours are all in the pink.
Dentists! Oooh horrible. Well done all those who entered the Surgery of Fear and came out lighter in spirits (and wallets). I'm due for such an experience in a couple of weeks. Definitely not looking forward to it.
kitty maybe have a party before idle gossip becomes a thing. ?
Anno poor you. Have to say that even a dead wasp is a threat. DH thrashed one in our bedroom window box a few summers ago. But he never saw where it went. I've been trained never to idly lash out at a wasp - late Mum was very allergic - so if I attempt to exterminate one, I have to see it dead and then get rid of the evidence. The wasp in the window box became known as The Wasp's Bum Fiasco in the family when I stuck my head out of the window to have a conversation with someone in the garden and in my bare feet suddenly felt such a pain, I seriously had to lie on the bed because I thought I would faint. DH examined a toe and found the rear half of a dead wasp attached to a sting which I had trodden on. It had been lying in wait for me in the carpet, courtesy of a man with a fly swat! It was maybe an hour before my foot felt comfortable again, so I sympathise.
Urms - you're terrible. Political threads are fine for debate but some on there are routinely insulting and spiteful for no apparent reason. Maybe you're hoping to convert them into nicer human beans. ?
Hello hello corner, jax and Doodle. Have I missed muse or was that an earlier thread. Sending you all good wishes.
RamblingRose - how LOVELY you're here. ? Sad to hear about rotten tests, but you'll be fine and obviously they'll be able to get to the bottom of things if you've been unwell. Please don't worry. Let us know how it goes and think positive thoughts about the treadmill......pretend you're glad of the exercise. ?
Out to water the pots on a very hot afternoon. I shall then fortify myself with a Magnum. (sorry soop)
Take care everyone, find some fun.?♀️
Forgot to say, soop, that I seem to recall that Charley and I were betting on Fern being an inside cat and enjoying your fireside warmth for next winter. Looks as if that might be the case. ??⬛
That's rotten Soop. I hope it recedes. I mute the cremation ads and bloody Derek and June selling me insurance. Grandmafrench I can feel that wasp sting all the way here in central Scotland! Enjoy your Magnum. I prefer a Jereboam myself.? Kittylester your Sainsbury's order disaster made me laugh. I'm having a cuppa at the moment. I partook of a sneaky nap because of a poor night but woke feeling groggy and cold. So a cuppa then ironing will warm me up. Enjoy your afternoon ladies.
Hello everybody??I haven’t a hope of catching up I do t think but will give it a go after I have posted?
Son in law is on the mend after his collapse last week ??The house and garden are nearly back in order after the visit of two daughters and three grandchildren to celebrate DH’s birthday on Monday.
Yesterday Henry’s lullabies sent me and DH to sleep as well so we all had a two hour nap!In the afternoon DD and I went to Chester. She was exhausted so I had to drive her speedy sporty car home?this morning she messaged to say she thought I must have her car keys so a 25 mile round trip to return the keys?
Soop, the pictures of your son and partner are lovely. You and your son are so alike?
Belated happy birthday Hellogirl????hooe you had a lovely day?
Welcome to the new kitcheners??
Grandmafrench, DD and I are both allergic to wasps.Years ago at a County show I got stung and a policeman rushed to a veg stall, grabbed an onion, cut it in half and rubbed it on the sting. It did the job but being a teenager at the time I was mortified to smell like an onion?
I am now going to read through the previous pages of posts.
TOYA
Just popping in the kitchen to say a quick hello. Hope everyone is well and keeping their cool although we did have shower last night - and we had left the garden cushions out of course!! soop take care and drink plenty. Have a pleasant evening dear kitcheners
kitty I’ve hurriedly checked my Tesco delivery order, due tomorrow, after reading your post!
Oh soop that’s not fair, a UTI after such a lovely few days, may it push off as quickly as it descended.
My thoughts too Grandmabatty after reading the word Magnum, all that kitty’s fault with her swilling around in lager.
Coincidentally MrJ, who’s just come home and is absolutely petrified of flying buzzy things, has just regaled me with his trip home. Driving down the motorway earlier a bumble bee was inside the rear window (seen in his mirror), then onto the passenger window, which he quickly opened. Bee out, but got caught in the web on the mirror (does everyone get those?), then the spider came out, but the bee flew off. I did have words that even in a 50mph road works area, he should have been looking ahead....
Meanwhile, I’ve been to the garden centre with DD and GC’s, I like shopping with my daughter, she doesn’t faff, she probably likes shopping with me, I paid for her trolley full ?
Have a lovely evening all.
grandmafrench have a pastis for me ?
Bless you all. I haven't budged from my umpire's chair all afternoon. Am also drinking copious glasses of water.
Son 'phoned to say that they are home safe and sound. We feel comforted to know the fact. It's been a very long journey back to London town.
Federer match is exciting. I shall return and shout for both contestants. May the best man win.
Thank you all for your company. I shall return to our kitchen tomorrow.

Evening all (without Sgt Dixon pic)
Thanks very much to soop and everyone who welcomed me as a new member of the kitchen.
Only had an ECG today to check my heart so I wasn't worn out for the rest of the day. It seems they only do a treadmill test if the ECG results show abnormal patterns.
Results next Thursday so will keep you posted.
Had to laugh at kittylester's slip up with her supermarket order! I'm surprised it hasn't happened to us yet.
If it did, we'd have some expensive champagne and canapes to use up - perfect for the new posh version of soop's kitchen!
Hope everyone in the UK enjoyed the warm sunshine today. Disappointed it may rain tomorrow as I'm going out for lunch and an outside table has been booked.
Enjoy the rest of your evening.
Quick hello and welcome RamblingRose hope all went well today.Sorry to hear you have a uti soop healing thoughts?
We are going for Chinese meal with friends this evening, roast chicken Chinese style for me Yay!
Have a pleasant evening one and all.
Oh Soop what a horrible thing those UTIs are , I’ve just a day to go of antibiotics, but I have a feeling they might not have done the job , so it will be another phone consultation with the Doctor on Monday
I'm laughing at kittylester holding her grocery slot with Foster's lager! ?
If I hold one I do it with milk
??
I could hold it with gin
?
soop they are such a miserable thing.
A teaspoonful of bicarbonate of soda in really warm water may help, it alkanises apparently.
(To drink)
Oh soop not another UTI. Do you have stand by antibiotics or something that will help.
kitty I to have had food deliveries where I forgot to edit the order.
Had some strange meals that week.
Hello Grandmafrench how are you these days? ? funny enough I fortified myself with a classic Magnum while on our walk today.
Susan I’m sorry I missed news of your SIL. Glad to hear he’s feeling better.
Have a good evening all. Hello Urms ? TOYA ?
So sorry about your UTI Soop and hope it clears quickly. You could try some of those powders that you mix with water as I’ve found them to be very helpful in the past. Having said that, antibiotics are usually needed to clear it properly.
Today I took our eight year old grandson to see Peter Rabbit 2 which was a lovely experience. We then got lunch and then went to the Adidas outlet to get him some new trainers. It was lovely to be with our grandchild because he’s the only one we can see now, with the other three in NZ. I still feel so unbelievably sad. At least we still have this little boy here.
You can buy a revolting drink from the chemist which may stop a UTI developing.
Otherwise bicarb helps.
Hello kitchen friends.
soop it’s great to read what a good time you had in the company of your DS and his partner, but I was dismayed to see you now have a visitor that is most unwelcome.
I hope with rest and the usual remedies that it goes as soon as it came.
Thank goodness there is high class tennis from Paris to keep you seated and resting. Our Norrie went through today and Roger F had his knickers in a twist this afternoon, didn’t he? Unusual for him. He still managed to win.
All kitchen peeps seem very busy out and about, meeting families and friends doing all the normal stuff that seems extra precious to us now.
I am hoping to visit a local garden and parkland with a lake and a herd of deer tomorrow. I have fingers crossed that the thundery rain keeps away.
TOYA. ?
Do you mean Potassium Citrate Callistemon? It used to be available in a bottle but now I think you buy the powders which do a similar job. I’ve used Oasis but there are other makes available.
maddyone

Yes, I think that's it.
Revolting stuff but it can help.
