Good morning all from sunny Harrogate
Today we are taking both Gc and DD to a children’s farm for a day out. If it’s full there is a park we can all go to for a kick about and play. Taking a partial picnic just in case.
grandMattie you are a genius with your patchwork quilts!!
Delighted to hear you are up to enjoying your neighbourly chats Marydoll hope your DHs specs meet with your approval.
Glad you enjoyed your day Ashcombe

Good Morning Wednesday
(72 Posts)Good morning from a sunny Morecambe Bay. I’ve been up since silly o clock. The bread is almost cooked and the garden is thoroughly watered. We will probably have a thunderstorm now! It reminds me of a few years ago when I gardened full time. I had designed and planted up a clients garden just before she went on holiday. I agreed I would keep the newly planted plants watered regularly while she was away. I drove ten miles, spent an hour soaking the garden and left. I wasn’t ten minutes down the road when we had the heaviest thunderstorm imaginable!
I realised I do need to post if I am to catch up later. I’m a bit out of touch this last couple of days so I hope everyone is ok. I don’t seem to have had a minute recently. As soon as we got back from Scarborough I had a friend stay over.
We went off to Muncaster which was very enjoyable. There as a tapestry of colour everywhere, and the the flying bird display was something special.
Love your quilts Mattie you are sooo talented.
Take care everyone and stay safe everyone ???
Good Morning and a welcome back everyone from Severnside.
It’s a beautiful sunny day.
Another lovely quilt Mattie. I had a pleasant time at the garden centre yesterday. I bought three plants for outside and one for indoors. All the bedding plants looked lovely but I resisted as I no longer want the kind of work that they bring. The traffic was awful though and I did begin to wonder whether I should have bothered.
Your lilac looks very pretty BlueSapphire and your shed flowers Laura.
Another warm day so will plod on this morning in the cool of the house.
Take care all and have the best day you can ??
Good morning all from a sunny S Hants, how lucky we are to have this cheery start to the day, thank you Mick.
Beautiful quilt gM, such skill, I admire you, bit disappointing for you on the furniture hunt.
I had a dental appointment for this Friday afternoon, two hours, I was dreading it, but spent time psyching myself up. I rang yesterday to confirm the time, they’ve no trace of it, I’m not happy, I’m hardly likely to have invented it, awaiting a call back today.
Anyway, have to get the hoe out today, we may get storms later, I hope so as I like a storm and the rain would be welcome.
Wishing you all a lovely day with no storms of any description, just joy and ???, or for muse ??
Talking smugglers, Ash, I meant to mention that the smugglers in Deal, when caught, were ordered to fill their basements with shingles from the beach. That way they were no longer able to hide their goods! ?
Good morning all from a North Leicestershire which is already bright and sunny with a gentle breeze.
Dh is driving today - picking up a man from the next village so fairly straight forward cor once.
My longest standing friend is coming for a
this afternoon. We have talked over the phone and on the doorstep a fair few times but this is the first time she has gone inside since the first lockdown. I think I'll make a cake!!
I also need to do a Sainsbury's order.
Welcome back Laura, I have missed your posts.
Morning Kate!!
Good morning from the Black country sunny again.
Lovely quilt grandMattie you are one talented lady.
Will check my bonds thanks for reminder haven't won for a few years and DH longer still.
Enjoy your trip to Paris NanKate?
Have a good day all?
Ashcombe, you reminded me I meant to say welcome back Laura and thank you for your lovely post.
Brilliant news about Iris too???
Good morning from another sunny day in Shropshire.
Yesterday was spent cleaning and sorting the garden after DH’s party and then my early evening hair appointment.I am really not happy with my hair.I have gone to the same hairdresser for twenty years and she has always cut my hair so well but I have got up this morning and thought what the heck ?DH says it’s ok?
We are looking after H this morning while DD and DGD have a trip out then after lunch DD has the two children while DD and I go out.
Thinking of my dear friend Cherry and hoping she is ok?
Thoughts with all with illness and worries?
Have a good day all??
Good morning, everyone from a grey looking Torbay.
A sad duty for you today, Mick and a time to reflect on loved ones lost. ?
Thank you for all the kind comments about my photos yesterday and I’m glad they sparked happy memories for you, EllanVannin. I appreciate your support, brook2704, regarding my willingness to go out despite being alone. Living here helps, with so many beautiful destinations within easy travelling distance and a frequent, reliable bus service to save driving. And olddudders (DH) benefits (!) from a full, daily report on Zoom!
Grandmabatty: I hope you’ve recovered from the shock of your fall, yesterday. Hope you are safely home, NannyJan53. I’m glad your DH enjoyed his birthday, Susan56. Good luck with your second hip op, Alizarin when the time comes.
As always, Marydoll your post made entertaining reading! I hope DH’s glasses met with your approval. I wonder if some of your neighbours have had visitors lately who've disposed of unsuitable items which have caused the sewer problem?
What a wonderful post from LauraNorder! It moved me to tears to read your heartfelt words about folk here and it’s great that you are back. Welcome, dear lady! And I love the shed!
Your comment about the sights one sees at the seaside resonated with me, hollysteers! In Teignmouth on Monday, I complimented a young woman on her elegant attire, complete with sun hat and she was delighted to tell me that the dress had cost £10 from a stall in Tavistock! A girl after my own heart!
My day as a Victorian smuggler alternating with a local poet was most enjoyable, thank you, muse and Stilllearning, with the smuggler being more fun, muse, because of the mischievous exploits which I could relate! I met interesting visitors, many of whom were on holiday and my costume was comfortable as the museum is a rather cool environment, thanks, Jaxjacky.
Gorgeous lilac, BlueSapphire! Another beautiful quilt, grandMattie, and great news about Iris! Look forward to reading details of her walk when available.
Another day of stepping back in time at Brixham Museum so I’d better make a start. Hope you all have the best of days. ???
Good morning from north Surrey. Another warm, sunny day promised.
Wow GrandMattie another beautiful quilt, such patience and talent. I hope you get to sofa shop soon.
Back to work yesterday which is always good for my MH and purse.
I have PT this morning followed by the gym. DH and I will visit garden centre to get some bedding plants and we have planned a later than usual walk with supper picnic. Our dog has very thick fur and does not enjoy the warm weather so will be better for him. Wednesday is usually my bed change day but DD will be sleeping in it at the weekend as she is dog sitting for us so I will leave it a few days to give her clean sheets.
Have been thinking about Grandmajet, I do hope her surgery went well and she is recovering well, I suspect it will be a long process.
Wishing all GMs a good day today, hope the sun is shining where you are
Just checked my premium bonds too, after being reminded by Gagagran - £50 for me as well!
Forgot to say what a lovely quilt, clever Mattie!
Morning all from another lovely sunny morning here on the south coast. You are so clever Mattie - love the quilts you make!
DH is going out with his cycling club again today. I hope to visit the garden centre for some ground cover colourful plants. After removing the rest of the daffodil foliage there is a large bald spot which needs something over it. Thinking of "Million Bells" which I know they have in stock.
Just checked the premium bond winners for June and DH has won £125 and I have won £50 so that was a nice start to Coronation Day!
Hope the day is a good one for us all
A bright and sunny good morning from Northampton. Up early to take my once a week tablet, have to now wait half an hour before i can have my tea!
Had a lovely health walk yesterday afternon, finishing at a liitle cafe where I discovered they sold wine! So a nice glass of sauvignon blanc was enjoyed in the sunshine.
No plans for today other than a load of washing to put on, and finish the Sainsburys order. Then I shall be enjoying the garden.
The photos are of my lilac which has just flowered after being in tight bud for weeks.
Wishing everyone a happy day in the sunshine.
Morning NanKate!
Lovely quilt grandMattie I know the work that goes into a project like this ?
Good morning Mick & GM and all to come. Another brilliant day in Suffolk. It was very warm indeed yesterday and will be again today. I think ironing and sewing in the cool indoors today then gardening when it gets shady.
Love the colours of your quilt GM. It’s on the plan for the winter to start quilting again.
I hope the day is kind to everyone.
Morning Mick and All.
Bright sunshine here in South Bucks. Due to get up to 26 degrees today. Phew ☀️
Bought a fab silky jacket navy and lime swirls in the charity shop yesterday for £9.99 fits a treat. Sorted through my wardrobe and found the perfect top to go with it. Will wear it on Sunday when DH and I go out for his Birthday lunch treat.
One of my neighbours now has a plastic box outside her house for the One Can charity, so when I go for my daily walk will put in some biscuits DH bought especially. Next time I am in Sainsbury’s I must get some toothbrushes and toothpaste as that is needed.
I shall be in Paris this afternoon watching the tennis. ??
Good morning from a bright E Kent.
Just hung out two loads of washing. Two more to go.
Finished my quilt. The back strips of fabric hide the seams joining the squares. Apart from a hideous mistake which I didn’t notice when assembling, I’m very pleased with it. Now to finish the one I started earlier...
No sofa. DH decided he wasn’t in the mood for a hunt! Disappointed doesn’t describe how I felt yesterday when dropping the bombshell.
Had a long chat with DD last evening. Apparently, Iris is doing very well on crutches now, hardly needs the wheelchair. The sponsored walk is back on the cards... I’ll let you know when it happens.
A busy day preparing for our long weekend in Bristol.
May all my GraMmingo friends have a quiet, sunny, peaceful day full of ?, smiles ? and flamingos ???
