So Hoyle has accused Johnson of misleading the house which is a resigning matter.
What happens now?
Haven’t seen this he is not happy the House of Commons hasn’t been addressed before today’s 6 o’clock announcement
Boris looked shell shocked. 700 admissions to hospital.

Maybe Hoyle should have done something about Johnson lying and not answering questions for the past year. It’s no wonder he thinks he can get away with anything.

Couldn't agree more MayBee. I could never understand why he didn't take a harder line earlier.
Didn't he say he wants to see the PM about it? That should be interesting.
I suspect Johnson will ignore him. Wonder what the constitutional position is? Not that it matters as the backbenchers will vote for him regardless of his behaviour.
We wouldn’t be in this blimmin’ position, if Johnson had shut the border to India in a timely matter.
Of course delta will still come in but not at such a large level as happened.
But we’ve got a brilliant trade deal with India because of it haven’t we
….
Crikey….he’s really stumbling over his words isn’t t he. More so than usual that is…..
?
Maybee I expect he is knackered from the G7 conference to the NATO summit today
I apologise if I am repeating what another has said, I have read the last 3 pages of this thread though. Can I just say that I am thoroughly pi**ed off; I have locked down, worn masks, kept safe distance, had home delivery rather than shop, missed out on seeing friends and family, had both vaccinations........and bloody Boris Johnson left the door open to India, not me, not you, him and his sodding government.

I think you will have quite a lot of company on that thought.

who are the thousands that are going to die?
I'm sorry to be so shrill but I'm not really happy about my youngest going to school where the Indian variant is if it is going to kill so many people. It might kill us? people we know?
where is growstuff?
Doodledog
I have not twisted anything you have said, nor have I been spiteful towards you. You have very clearly made your views known, but what you forget is that all you have is an opinion, and others may have a different opinion. You appear not to value the opinions that others hold, that are quite legitimate. You have in fact on this thread accused others of being selfish because they wish to open up, because they may be considering a holiday, or because they may wish to go out, to for restaurants for example. I have pointed out that everything I have done and plan to do is legal, and you may hold an opinion about the things I’m choosing to do, but it is not your right to be rude and/or call me names.
I have not made digs, I have not been spiteful, I was not unpleasant, nor was I selfish.
I think the majority of people in the U.K. would prefer to be cautious, however I suspect that just as in other cases the minority are going to shout the loudest.
maddyone It read to me that you had turned what Doodledog had said on its head but I'm just as capable of making a mistake as anyone. If I did I apologise but whatever the case I had no intention of saying anything more as this went on far longer than was intended.
I think we’re all suffering from covid fatigue. Perhaps we should all agree to disagree. At least none of us are taking part in the sort of behaviour that I’ve seen on my local police Facebook page.

Muffinthemoo I do not understand why you have not been at liberty to see your granny under the social distancing regulations at any time since May (and indeed before) whether in her garden or in another outdoors space . If she is in a care home surely outdoor visits have been happening for several weeks.
Or am I missing something?
Well said Maw ?
I often think ‘there WAS a window last summer’!
I never understand those who make out it ‘wasn’t possible’.
Choices, people.
?
So glad I don’t ‘do’ Facebook, Twitter or Insta MayBee!
?
On a positive note news is coming out that both Pfizer and AZ are 96% and 92% respectively effective against hosptalization
This is against the Delta variant after 2 doses
This was a report by Dr Mary Ramsey head of Immunisation at PHE
Well, it’s best to know what’s happening in your local area and the local police have a very informative Facebook page. It’s appalling the way people treat them sometimes though. Also a good opportunity to thank them for what they do, too.

Very unfair, UG, Muffinthemoo posted exactly why it hasn't been possible and you clearly haven't read it.
Not choices, not choices at all. Except maybe the choice that she made to live by the rules.
Can I just say as someone with a family member is a 'care home' it really isn't as simple as seeing someone in the garden. If you think it is, you need to think about the complex needs of people who require 'care' inside any kind of residential setting and how only seeing someone through a window might impact all their mental health.

I'm not growstuff but I can give my viewpoint, if you want me to. Where is the figure of thousands coming from? Did somebody mention it tonight at the briefing?
