I was just looking at Harrison Ford pictures of him making the new Indiana Jones film.
Do you think he should hang up his hat and whip he looks so dare I say old.

That makes him 3 years older than DH, I'm surprised. We used to have a friend, sadly no longer with us, who had the same brand of attraction. Irresistible!

Secondwind Tue 15-Jun-21 12:54:13

I wouldn’t kick him out - INDIE!!!

grandtanteJE65 Tue 15-Jun-21 12:52:58

I honestly think we need to see the film before we can tell, whether he is past it or not.

Remember how surprised we were when Sean Conery annonced that The League of Extradordinary Gentlemen was his last film?

Most of us thought then he could have managed a couple more.

I think it depends on the genre of the film. Anthony Hopkins in "The Father" has just been released and he is fantastic opposite Olivia Coleman. It is maybe because we associate him with this action hero role rather than other roles so are worried that he will not be able to pull off the character. I still think that Joe Biden looks old and often a bit bewildered by what is going on around him.

No-one should have to stop anything just because of their age.
If HF is fit and still enjoying making films, then good luck to him.

GraceQuirrel Tue 15-Jun-21 12:18:38

Just don’t let him fly a plane!!

Riggie Tue 15-Jun-21 12:08:12

I have no kdea abkut his acting ability. But from pkctures I saw of in in his cycling gear he has kept in good shape and to me his facial looks are better now than when he was young!!

4allweknow

Michael Douglas is still acting and he is in his 70s. Will pass judgement on Mr Ford when the film is out.

Douglas should have won an Oscar for his role in Behind the Candelabra

Funnygran Tue 15-Jun-21 11:46:47

He doesn’t look past it to me. And Anthony Hopkins is 80+ and getting rave reviews and an Oscar for The Father.

Alioop Tue 15-Jun-21 11:26:49

As long as hes fit and able to fill the role why not, good luck to him. I'd rather look at Richard Gere though, now that's my "older man" wink

Greciangirl Tue 15-Jun-21 11:22:39

He cycles every day as part of his fitness regime.

He obviously isn’t past it yet.

BlueSky Tue 15-Jun-21 11:19:11

Shortlegs so sad and so true. Good on him!

Annaram1 Tue 15-Jun-21 11:18:52

Last night on TV I watched Airforce One, in which he played the President of the US. He was a good looking man then in that old film.
Don't know what he looks like now, but I bet he looks better than Clint Eastwood who is a wrinkled old prune.

On the Quay side- Past it?

moggie57 Tue 15-Jun-21 11:13:53

past what ? past time/past life? or generally too old?

GrannyGravy13 Tue 15-Jun-21 11:10:06

I wouldn’t push him out of my bedroom…

Shortlegs Tue 15-Jun-21 10:51:10

He's 78. He should be hidden away in a nursing home somewhere, tended by staff that regularly patronise him and moan about him never joining in the bingo or the sing songs. (Sarcasm btw).

Cp43 Tue 15-Jun-21 10:50:44

I loved HF so much but agree in order to make it realistic he should let a younger chap take over and if not definitely an older leading lady.
Giving them younger models just exacerbates middle aged men’s fantasies.

Theoddbird Tue 15-Jun-21 10:47:01

Oh for goodness sake....words fail me.... Damn judgemental because of someone's age!

polnan Tue 15-Jun-21 10:36:57

just wondering if us ageing people here are more "ageist" than anyone?

I like Harrison Ford..

NanKate Mon 14-Jun-21 22:20:19

Cary Grant looked great in old age, but he was the exception to the rule.

CanadianGran Mon 14-Jun-21 21:51:55

I think it's fine to have an older actor in an action movie, as long as they don't pair him up with a love interest 30 years his junior.

Liam Neeson, Denzel Washington, Bruce Willis are all over 60 and still making action movies. Also Sigourney Weaver.

Callistemon Mon 14-Jun-21 21:31:47

I'm full of admiration if he's still doing his own stunts at 78.

After two hours gardening I'm looking for the Voltarol gel, Newatthis and Mollyg!

trisher Mon 14-Jun-21 21:13:54

He's been pictured a lot on social media in the NE in cycling gear and in jeans and t-shirt on the Quayside. He looks incredible for his age and obviously works out. He's still got it.
