Are there any famous or well known people you just dislike for no rational reason ?
Nigel Farage is one for me
Simon Cowell another. Never met either of them and probably never will but even before I knew what they were known for, something made me dislike them.

Philip schofield and Alexander Armstrong. So sickly. Rita Chacrabati ( spelling not sure) does the 6pm news on itv. She needs to learn to present, sounds like she’s going to stop half way through a sentence.

I can without question dislike any person/s who chose to pronounce the word FOR as FIR/FER.What does this show those wishing to learn correct pronunciation of the English language ?
Confusion hmm

The trouble is, it is very difficult to suddenly start speaking in a different accent to the one you have grown up with. People who do, just sound very affected. I have a northern accent and like it or not, I'm stuck with it!

Claudia Winkleman
Jimmy Carr
Definitely Mr Tumble (unsettling is spot on).
Rob Dryden would have been on the list until I recently realised how funny he is in the programme with Steve Coogan.
Michael McIntyre makes me want to kick the TV
Keith Lemon

Did you mean Rob Brydon, Mamma66?
No, he's great, although Uncle Bryn is definitely a bit dodgy!

I love the fact that lots of people dislike other people whose names they don't even know....

MayBee70 Fri 25-Jun-21 20:05:52

I can’t watch anything with Keith Lemon in. My son used to buy his videos but I’ve never watched them.

Disregarding politicians and people with obnoxious opinions, such as Jeremy Clarkson or Carol Malone, there are plenty of people I dislike for fairly irrational reasons, including :

Smug - Ian Hislop, Paul Hollywood, Dawn French, James Martin, Caroline Quentin and Ricky Gervais, the king of smugness.

Creepy - Stephen Fry, David Walliams, Laurence Fox (obnoxious opinions too.)

Generally irritating - Graham Norton, Sarah Millican, Frank Skinner. There's also a slimy man who makes a big thing about being a working class right wing comedian, but I can't remember his name.

Don't know how any could dislike Professor Brian Cox. Extremely clever and such a soothing voice. He should read bedtime stories.

Holly somebody or other, blank-eyed, presents with Philip Schofield another irritating smug looking person.

Miranda Hart - unfunny
Gino D'Campo - vulgar
Andrew Marr - dull
David Walliams - camp, unfunny, charmless
Amanda Holden - sick of seeing her
Alexander Armstrong - smarmy
Lenny Henry - unfunny, plays the race card

Sawsage2 Fri 25-Jun-21 21:21:39

Claudia Winkleman, so talentless. Husband is a tv producer.

Intentionally haven’t read the thread because it would remind me of some that I do or don’t like.

Lots of politicians, past and present, though I realise that I may be swayed by their ideologies.

For some years I worked in a field that brought me into contact with a lot of celebrities, some, but not all of my list is my experience, some is based on opinion.

Chris Moyles (former radio 1 DJ).
Paul Daniels always used to make my skin crawl.
Jimmy Carr.
Mick Jagger.
Jo Wiley.
Zoe Ball.
Vernon Kay.
Piers Morgan.
Kiera Knightly.

I called the fact that Lance Armstrong was using drugs long before the news came out. When I observed his aggression towards his staff (I wasn’t one of them) was way over the top. A friend of mine was a huge cycling fan, we had a big argument about it. Sadly I was right.

Lots of the celebrities I worked with were lovely people.

Gosh, I can think of loads!

Happysexagenarian Fri 25-Jun-21 22:00:37

Donald Trump - can't think of anything I like about him
Janet Street-Porter - as above
Laura Kuernsberg - rude, ill mannered and aggressive
Ant and Dec - it's about time they grew up

Bridie22 Fri 25-Jun-21 22:41:23

That supervet guy...creepy.
David Willams
Claudia Winkleman...her voice just grates on me.

Bridie22 Fri 25-Jun-21 22:57:42

oh and Jeremy Vine.

Some of the comments on this thread are absolutely revolting.
Yorki, yours especially.

I disagree about Rita Chacrabati (I also don’t know how it’s spelt).

I like her soothing, sensible way of reading the news. No matter how bad, it seems better when she reads it.

Huw Edwards and even George Alagaia seem to make it very doom and gloom.

Yes Callistermon, I did mean Rob Brydon, if you have my seen the travelogues with Steve Coogan, they are definitely worth a watch ?

Helen Skelton.
Stacey Dooley.
Dawn French.
Lenny Henry.
