I normally would have to know someone before I could say I liked them. I don't think you can really know whether someone is as nice as they seem on screen unless you know them well off it. I appreciate some of you do and that is fair enough.
However, having said that, I do have a soft spot for Owain Wyn Evans.

Martin Clunes, he sincerely loves his horses and comes across as someone you'd want to be friends with.

Ken Bruce (radio DJ). He's funny, clever and seems really kind.

Paul O'Grady - seriously loves animals and seems an all round good bloke.

Billy Connolly. He survived a tough childhood and never forgot his roots, plus he's probably made me laugh more than anyone else ever. Totally down to earth.

Prince Harry. Had the guts to fight in Afghanistan with no special privileges, then the guts to buck tradition and get his wife and family out of a totally toxic, dysfunctional situation.

Franki Dettori (jockey). Never seems to let anything get him down, always smiling and gives credit to his horses whenever he wins. Doesn't hurt that he's also very charismatic!

Tony McCoy (20 times Champion jump jockey). A really talented brave man (I don't think there's a bone he hasn't broken!) who clearly adores his family and is a great, friendly race presenter now he's retired.

Janey Godley (Scottish comedienne) who had a hugely rough start in life, still has a lot to cope with now but is kind, down to earth and does the incredibly funny "Frank get the door" sketches of Nicola Sturgeon's speeches (which get the message over to people who wouldn't hear it otherwise) and the satire and the absolutely genius animal voiceovers. (If you don't mind swearing, which she does a lot of and it's all in context, check her out on YouTube)

Trying to think of my faves who haven't already been mentioned...
Jeremy Corbyn, Robbie Fowler, Tim Lovejoy, Richard Hammond, Jurgen Klopp, Anthony Joynes, Bruce Springsteen, Ian Prowse, Sheila Hancock (esp with Gyles), loads from Gogglebox (I laugh all the way thru), Adam Hill...
And prob a few I've (temporarily) forgotten. In fact, too many to mention! I've found it's best not to know too much about their personal/private lives tho (as an ex-fan of Lawrence Fox & Phil Spencer ?). With actors, its generally the characters I like.

I used to think Giles Brandreth was awful. Then I went to a posh evening out where he was the MC. He spent a lot of time going round the tables and chatting to people. We'd all taken advantage of the free bar so it was quite raucous.

Then he got up and made a speech that included references to all the companies that were there, what they did and why they were worthy of the awards they were getting. Also some banter with people at the tables that was really funny, not insulting or patronising.

I see him in a new light - hard working and good at his job.

Gosh, it's interesting reading through people's lists. Sometimes I loathe all the ones that other people love.

Just remembered Matt Williams who was lost to radio for a while when Simon Mayo left Radio 2 but joy oh joy they’re back with their drive time show on Greatest Hits radio. His laugh and funny asides are lovely, especially during the Confessions spot.
