Good Morning Everyone,
Its dry but part cloudy here in Brackley this morning, today small early shop then watch the Tour De France with its slightly early start ,late morning.
Yesterdays was with Cav getting another win, 3 to go for new record , also the situation with Cav resembles Andy Murray both returning from injury and illness , by delivering the goods when it matters most to the wider audience.
Take Care,
Mick

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it looks a little grey out there.
Off to Whitehaven this morning as DD is cycling the C2C cycle route tommorrow . I am the official support crew!
But first I am off to have 2 MRI scans at the hospital to try and get to the bottom of this shoulder and neck pain.?
Do have the best weekend you can and ‘Come on England’ ?????????

Looks like another splendid day in sunny Glasgow. Yesterday our patio was unusable as it is such a sun trap with the temperature in the mid 30C. On the grass beneath the tree it was a bearable 26C.
The grass is turning brown with the long hot spell so today I shall spike and water it. The glut of mange tout will be happily received by neighbours and I need to sow some bright lights chard as mine have bolted in the heat.

Good morning all from the Black country. Dull outside again but hopefully will brighten like yesterday. Day out with DS and the boys today will probably go to Lichfield the boys enjoy the park there. Meeting friends later at the club.
Enjoy your Friday everyone and may you all find some ?.

Good morning from another bright day in E Kent.
I’ve been very busy - made 10 pots of apricot jam, a batch o dae slices, a cheesecake…
I took my old friend out for coffee - going in to visit her Home is just too onerous - and went to a local cafe. After queuing, I was asked if we had book. Booked? No! Sorry, no room!!! I wasn’t best pleased -a cafe? Requiring booking? I took her to a local hotel, where they couldn’t have been nicer and more charming. Don’t think I’ll bother with the cafe again.
Today, I’m picking up DS1 after he returns his hired car, then taking him to Lidl for granola, etc.
Bed change today…. I don’t know if my energy levels will hold up!
May all our GraMmingos have a -free day (pain, sorrow, anxiety) and have some warmth and sunshine in their lives. ????☀️⭐️??

Ashcombe Fri 02-Jul-21 06:33:34

Good morning one and all from a sultry Crewe, where I’ve been made most welcome by my DD2 and family, including her FiL who met me at the station.

The MRI scan was an interesting experience although I imagine it would not be for anyone with claustrophobia. Beforehand, I received excellent preparation from the radiography assistant who explained in great detail what would happen, which gave me reassurance. The whole process took about 45minutes, including a break half way to inject dye into the cannula inserted earlier, during which I dozed briefly! Afterwards I happened to pass the hospital chapel so visited this oasis of calm. (See photo) I love the altar cloth, reflecting our proximity to the sea.

After lunch, I undertook my first train journey since March last year! I travelled on three different trains with GWR, Cross Country and Avanti. None was crowded and the Cross Country one smelt wonderful! I observed the steward cleaning every seat that was used. Everyone wore masks, except when eating or drinking.

I hope my descriptions of yesterday's experiences will help any of you who are apprehensive about undertaking train journeys or undergoing scans - good luck with yours, Scentia! You are such a busy person, grandMattie: I envy your energy!

Wishing everyone a fine day for whatever you have planned. It’s lovely to read of outings of various kinds - almost normality! ???☀️?

I forgot to reduce the size of the image so I hope this works!

monk08 Fri 02-Jul-21 06:42:52

Enjoy your break Ash and thanks for train experience it bears well for the future. Before this DH and myself would travel by rail at least twice a Month on days out. With his health issues we were a little wary but I may now be able to persuade him to take the train again.

Good morning from a sunny NE ?
Grocery delivery was prompt but had a few missing items, shampoo and kitchen roll, never mind I am sure we'll manage.
Wine delivery at lunchtime, a wee girl lifted a large box from the van, carried it down the drive and placed it in my porch, I was impressed.
DS is dismantling his observatory this weekend and it will be moving on to another astronomer. DH and DS built it together but DS would like to move house.
DD had a problem with her vaccination, had first one in Belgium and was given an appointment here in the NE for second, when she arrived they told her they had run out as anyone can just walk in now. Directed to another centre but not at all organised. She must have paperwork that is acceptable otherwise they won't allow her back into Brussels.
Have a good day.

Good Morning everyone from sunny Severnside.

My shopping trip was mostly successful and then while putting things away on returning home I shut my thumb in the cupboard door and made it bleed. Not the brightest thing to have done.

Weeding and a mammogram appointment today.
This popped up on my Facebook page last night and I thought of you BlueSapphire. Have you tried it ?

Have a good day all whatever you do ?

Nanabanana1 Fri 02-Jul-21 07:15:05

Good morning from a sunny Torbay, couldn’t leave Torbay out while Ashcombe is in Crewe, enjoy your visit.
Waiting in today for a delivery and maybe some gardening.
Enjoy your day everyone xx

Good morning from sunny Shropshire.

Glad the MRI and the train journey went well Ash.I love the altar cloth and the stained glass window.

We have not had to book for coffee or lunch when out and about mattie but after your experience will phone where we are planning to go today to check.

Thank you for all the anniversary wishes yesterday.DD was mortified when she arrived with H yesterday and realised it was our anniversary! She said she would take him home again and take the day off work but we obviously said no.When we took H home she had cooked a lovely meal for us ?

Today DD and I are going shopping while DH looks after H at their house.H has started singing all the time and he has the sweetest voice☺️

Thinking of all our missing friends and all with illness and worries?

Have a good day all??

Marydoll Fri 02-Jul-21 07:36:19

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow. A warm welcome to the thread for my fellow Weegie, Espee. We both live in the Glasgow area, but never can agree on the weather. We even have rain forecast here. grin

I have a virtual RA appointment with my new RA consultant today. It's only a year late, as he was seconded to Covid ICU at the beginning of the pandemic. I hope he has no other patients, as I have a list of questions as long as your arm. I'm a bit nervous, my previous consultant was like an old pair of shoes, he was a legend among RA consultants (and others) and knew me for over thirty years. It will be like a first date! grin At least i don't have to get dressed up!!!!

Our decking is being ripped out on Sunday to prepare for the new one being fitted, so today's task is to prepare the area. Our garden looks like a bombsite as everything has been moved into a corner. Control freak thatt I am, I'm seriously irritated by the mess.

For those with appointments today, good luck. That was a long spell in the scanner Ash, glad you survived!
Harri, I hope your DD gets sorted,

I have only skimmed the posts, another bad night and my eyes are stuck together, so it's hard to read. I'm posting on my PC, with an enlarged screen, I can't read my tablet! ? Still I found lots of errors, when I read it back, before posting. grin
Once, I'm organised I will come back and catch up properly.

Wish you all the best day possible, especially those who are struggling.

Grandmajean Fri 02-Jul-21 07:37:42

Morning all !
Lovely peaceful picture Ash
Dull here in Cheshire but feels warm. Pizza to make for GC. Will come back later to enjoy posts.
Hope today brings some good things.

Pittcity Fri 02-Jul-21 07:38:38

Good morning from sunny Colchester. Not as warm here as up North and a chance of rain this afternoon.
Our back garden is nearly finished. We just need to tidy up and move pots and furniture around.
The guy is now building a path up to the front door and we have a digger and a trench at the moment.
Supermarket and ironing this morning. Tennis this afternoon!!
Love to all x

Alizarin Fri 02-Jul-21 07:40:13

Good morning from a bright south Cornwall. To the sea front today on the Hoppa bus, to breath the air. The owner of a small beach cafe was held up at knifepoint last week so I want to go and support her and wish her well. Such a shocking event for our town. This evening a bus to my son's nearby village, to inspect a profusion of wild flowers he's grown and supper with his family including the 3 and 5 year olds. The photo is a little man my granddaughter made for her daddy. Have the best day you can everyone.

cornergran Fri 02-Jul-21 07:42:16

Morning Mick, morning All from a warm, cloudy corner of Somerset.

Thr car performed beautifully for its MoT yesterday. Very proud of it grin. Lunch was good, avoided the sea front, too windy for enjoyment so wandered the shops instead. Letter from the cardiologist has me worrying about Mr C, hopefully an appointment soon with a better explanation and clarity over surgical intervention . My pre op appointment has been been scheduled for August, it may need to wait depending on Mr C’s needs.

Electrician here this morning, a well recommended carpenter coming tomorrow to quote for new doors. . Delighted about both in spite of the inevitable mess.

Goodness grandMattie, you’re busy and energised, pleased yesterday all went to plan ashcombe and you and Mr S enjoyed your day Susan.

Hope Friday is kind to us all. Take care everyone.

monk08 Fri 02-Jul-21 07:45:48

Granddaughter following you Alizarin with the artistic talent.

kittylester Fri 02-Jul-21 07:46:38

Good morning all from a brightening North Leicestershire.

Lovely weekend in prospect. DD2 is 40 (!!!!!) tomorrow and she and her family are coming for the weekend.

Birthday cake making and bed changing today!!

ginny Fri 02-Jul-21 07:48:46

Good morning. Have woken to another sunny morning in Brixham. We did have a bit of a downpour yesterday but othery it was lovely weather.
Today we are having an early lunch and will be visiting Compton Fishacre, ( NT).

Good luck to all with appointments and thoughts with those with troubles. Hope everyone finds a smile today.

brook2704 Fri 02-Jul-21 07:50:25

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s sunny and warm. After the early morning cloud had cleared yesterday was a beautiful sunny day with warm sunshine- perfect!
We took the DGC to the museum where they enjoyed the quiz and then we had our picnic by the castle overlooking the river. Not sure yet what we’re doing yet this morning but tonight we’ve got a neighbours get together outside so it’ll be a chance to catch up on everyone’s news
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Gelisajams Fri 02-Jul-21 07:50:34

Good morning from Worcester where the sun is trying to break through. I have no Flamingos but here’s some swans we spotted last night. Take care and stay safe everyone ?

NannyJan53 Fri 02-Jul-21 07:53:38

Good morning from a dull Black Country. Yesterday started the same, but the sun finally came out around 3.00pm. Although it was still warm.

Had a lovely couple of hours with my friend. Went to the Railway cafe near Wombourne, chatted for ages, then a little walk along the railway walk. She had lived near the area for years, and didn't realise it was there! Then I tootled over to Mums, and we had a walk along same track, but further along where she lives.

Today, another friend and I are going to drive over to a Country park not too far away, where I believe is another lovely cafe. We have both never been before. It seems outings are like buses, none for ages, then two turn up at once grin

It's my DIL's birthday today, so I must give her a call later. I am seeing them tomorrow to 'babysit' whilst they go out to celebrate. It is only the 12 year old, as her 17 year old sister works waitressing on Saturday evenings.

Goodness Ashcombe that seems a long time in the scanner. Glad you have finally made it to your DD's, enjoy your weekend.

monk I lived in Lichfield for 20 years and my children loved to go to the park there, my grandchildren too as my DS still lives near there.

Wishing you all a lovely day, with special thoughts of our missing friends.

Grandmabatty Fri 02-Jul-21 08:02:49

Good morning all. Polmont is, yet again, covered in grey clouds. Lots of busy people on the thread today. Yesterday ended up even nicer than Wednesday. I met with friends for lunch at my local pub. It has been done up and taken over and it was really nice. A very tasty steak pie. Then friends came back to my house and we sat in the garden and had a blether for a couple of hours. It was so hot and sunny and pleasant sitting in the shade, drinking juice and hearing the birds.
Today I'm off for afternoon tea with my aunt, mum and dd. I'm looking forward to it. My aunt, who is younger than me, is such a lovely person. She has organised it. I'm hoping mum is polite! I spoke to a pharmacist who gave me a wrist support and told me to use voltarol gel. That certainly made a difference to the pain yesterday, although my hand was quite puffy when I took the support off. Trial and error, I expect. I'm off to have second cup of coffee then a shower. With luck, the garden man will be back. Thinking of you Pittcity!

Jaxjacky Fri 02-Jul-21 08:02:53

Good morning Mick and all from a cloudy S Hants, due to brighten and warm up later, might get my shorts on again. A quiet day yesterday, garden weeding and revising food delivery list. MrJ off to golf this morning, I’ve got towels and a denim shirt/jacket that I love, ready for washing. Tesco delivery this afternoon and usual Friday stroll to the local for a catch-up with friends. Ashcombe and Scentia the thought of an MRI scan, the confinement, fills me with horror, you have my admiration. gMattie you make me feel sloth like with your whirl of activity, yes, we book everything going out now, even our local you must have a table booked.
Wishing you all a joyful Friday and may all niggles, sadness and pain ease for those struggling. X
