I have noticed that my children don't use a washing up bowl.
I use one. Do others?

Visgir1 Sun 04-Jul-21 16:12:54

Nope, never have.

Marydoll Sun 04-Jul-21 16:13:43

Me neither, just more clutter in the kitchen.

AGAA4 Sun 04-Jul-21 16:15:52

Yes I have one but my children don't

crazyH Sun 04-Jul-21 16:17:12

I do, because i think it prevents the cutlery and crockery from scratching the sink

Beechnut Sun 04-Jul-21 16:18:08

I don’t use one in the kitchen either.

I’ve got one in the garage cupboard.

NotSpaghetti Sun 04-Jul-21 16:19:04

No, I can't bear them!

valdali Sun 04-Jul-21 16:22:15

Yes, the water goes on the garden after. (not today though enough puddles already)

Blossoming Sun 04-Jul-21 16:23:46

Yes. It means we use less water when dishwashing.

tanith Sun 04-Jul-21 16:26:47

No i do have a dishwasher though but i prefer to use the sink without a bowl

Pittcity Sun 04-Jul-21 16:32:49

I use one that has a plug in the bottom and handles on the side. So as not to scratch the sink and I can lift it out if I'm soaking anything so the sink can be used for another purpose.
Our old house had 2 sinks so I suppose I am used to that.

Kate1949 Sun 04-Jul-21 16:36:31

Yes and so does my daughter.

grannypiper Sun 04-Jul-21 16:39:31

I use a washing up bowl as does my 24 year old StepSon but he doesn't have a kettle. He doesn't drink hot drinks so doesn't see why he should make one for anyone else !

lemongrove Sun 04-Jul-21 16:47:27

Yes, I have always used a washing up bowl ( useful things) and so do our AC.
Now I shall be checking out all our friends and relatives kitchens, just to see.

M0nica Sun 04-Jul-21 16:50:45

Not since I had a double sink and a dishwasher.

MiniMoon Sun 04-Jul-21 16:51:21

No, and neither does my daughter. I dispensed with the washing up bowl after the arrival of the dishwasher. I haven't used one for years.

Mattsmum2 Sun 04-Jul-21 16:53:30

I do use one but only in the past 5 years or so. I have a dishwasher but find using a bowl means I can use the sink too if I need to.

foxie48 Sun 04-Jul-21 16:53:55

I have a washing up bowl but don't use it for washing up, stuff goes in the dishwasher or is done in the sink. I use it to soak things in and it's kept in the laundry room.

MissAdventure Sun 04-Jul-21 16:56:04

I've just done away with mine.
I used it because my sink looks awful, but the bowl was making it look worse unless I scrubbed it all the time.

lemongrove Sun 04-Jul-21 16:56:34

Just to add, I have had a dishwasher for around 35 years ( not the same one!) but still handwash certain things.

timetogo2016 Sun 04-Jul-21 17:02:22

Yes we have a bowl at home and at the caravan.
And to my knowledge both my dil`s have one too.

polomint Sun 04-Jul-21 17:05:36

I use a plastic basin , or bowl if that's what others call them, in the sink for washing dishes

Oh yes, I do have one for this purpose.

Thoro Sun 04-Jul-21 18:39:24

I use one for soaking the potted orchids each week

NotAGran55 Sun 04-Jul-21 18:49:22

I have a washing up bowl but not for washing up . It’s use for my home pedicures ?.

I have a dishwasher and glasses are washed in the sink one at a time .
