Kipling bags !

I love Kipling but know they are like Marmite. I like them as they are lightweight, a lot are crossbody styles and I can manage them using my wheely. My niece has a Mulberry Bayswater that would break your arm when she’s got her stuff in it! I find QVC dear and the cheaper ones have funny colours, John Lewis has very little choice, and I have never found any on the charity shops I visit. This shows that we Kipling fans are anal retentive when it comes to our bags ! I can’t get to an outlet store but found online a shop called The Necessity that have a good range.
My favourite is the small Gabbie and I’m buying a Citypack small to give it a trial. Anyone out there got an Amiel as I’m thinking of buying it ? What are your favourite colours and styles ? My niece says I have hideous taste and like weird patterns ! She is such a kind young woman. ?

That should read IN the charity shops I go to. It reads like I’m Father Christmas, leaping roof to roof from Oxfam to BHF with my wheely instead of a sleigh ?

I thought this thread would be about cakes!

?

Don’t tempt me with ALL THINGS KIPLING or my wheely will give up the ghost if I get any fatter !

JaneJudge Fri 09-Jul-21 10:43:39

where do you live? they usually have outlet shops on the McArthur Glenn outlets

Blossoming Fri 09-Jul-21 10:45:45

I’ve never heard of them before Infinity2 and I’m afraid Bakewell slice was the first thing that popped into my head. Like you I prefer crossbody bags, so much easier to deal with when you have only one functional hand. I have a very ancient Coach messenger bag that will hold as much shopping as I can carry when I’m out without Mr. B. I also have a small backpack bought on Amazon which doesn’t strain the weak shoulder. I shall google ‘Kipling Bags’ .

Infinity2 Fri 09-Jul-21 11:33:59

JaneJudge - thanks for that but can’t physically get out beyond a few local shops.

Blossoming Fri 09-Jul-21 11:40:56

Just had a look on Amazon, those Citypacks do look nice, and are very similar to my little daypack. I chose this one because the zip is on the back of the bag, so it is against my body when I’m wearing it ?. The brand is Nicole & Doris.

I’ve recently started using healthy back bags. I use the large baglet which has space for keys, tissues, phone, sanitiser and mask, with a little zipped of section where I keep my bank card and a £20 note. I started with these bags for lockdown walks and have continued to use them because they are so comfortable and useful.

Infinity2 Fri 09-Jul-21 11:52:05

Blossoming - oh I never thought about the zip being exposed ! Thank you - I’ll check those out ?

Infinity2 Fri 09-Jul-21 11:54:52

Allegretto - Do they go across your body with a strap so they don’t fall off ? Will look at those too, thank you.

I have a load of kipling bags that used to belong to a friend. She was a bit of a magpie about kipling bags.

I love the fact that I can throw them in the washing machine if they get dirty.

Got my one and only Kipling bag on a cruise 6 years ago. Wanted a lightweight cross body bag for trips ashore, paid 35 dollars for it, nearly died when same bag priced at £75 pounds at home. Has been a good purchase, travelled half the world, still in use, whenever I go shopping, added bonus, it’s washable.

Katyj Fri 09-Jul-21 13:15:32

Oh I love Kipling bags too. They have a good selection on QVC some are reduced on the website . Happy shopping.

Another addict here. Their luggage is superb, light and practically indestructible.. I have had to stop buying, now I'm retired!
My cerise laptop case is about twenty years old and looks as good as new. My daughter is using it now.
I am signed up to the Kipling site and get emails when there is sale.

I get my Kiplings from TK Maxx and love my monkeys.

Infinity2 Fri 09-Jul-21 14:34:36

I love all the monkeys too. Can’t say I’m overkeen on the new rubber ones ? I’ve got a few of the heavy metal ones ( just realised how ridiculous that looks, as if they’re all playing Machine Head ) and one or two of the flat cut out shaped ones. Not a fan of the big puffball ones. Probably someone somewhere has written a thesis on the development of Kipling monkeys ?

Niobe Fri 09-Jul-21 17:14:24

Best prices for Kipling bags are from Amazon but you will find that some colours are heavily discounted and others not. I click on every colour to see how the price changes. There are also sellers on eBay selling the new bags at a discount. Worth having a look. I have my sight on the City backpack as it has a zip pocket next to the back and a water bottle pocket at the side.

Infinity2 Fri 09-Jul-21 17:19:56

The backpack I’ve ordered is called city jungle and has lots of monkeys on it. I think it’s an unusual pattern so my niece will faint with horror at the sight of it ?

Allegretto Fri 09-Jul-21 18:03:30

Hi Infinity2. Yes the healthy back bags can be worn in all sorts of ways. I wear mine like a cross-body bag. Ive not tried the bigger versions (yet).

Another fan here. I started my collection at QVC as well. I’ve also bought from McArthur Glen,TK Maxx , Kipling website and the shop in Regent Street.
I recently bought a purse in TK Maxx sale for £6. On the past I once got a striped tote style one for about £25 on holiday in Majorca and about 3 years ago I got one in a local department store in the summer sale for £20. Love my bargains!

I love all the pockets, key fobs etc they are so useful especially nowadays for taking out masks, sanitizer on top of all the other kitchen sink items required ?
There is a 50% sale on on the Kipling website at the moment. It used to be free postage and packing I’m not sure if that still applies.

toscalily Fri 09-Jul-21 18:24:44

I have a couple of the smaller Kipling bags, bought originally as they are lightweight, crossbody and were great when out with two of my grandchildren as I could have both hands free (vital with two boisterous little boys). Although I like good quality leather bags and have quite a few! throughout lockdown I used the smallest Kipling as it was so convenient with all the covid restrictions & sanitising. I have bought from this company and they usually have good prices :https://www.rtherapyclothing.co.uk/category/bags/all-kipling-bags/ worth browsing if you are a Kipling fan.

Gingster Fri 09-Jul-21 18:32:29

Another here who thought of cakes. ?

BlueBelle Fri 09-Jul-21 18:40:30
