Following England’s narrow defeat yesterday evening Rashford, Sancho and Saka were subjected to dreadful racist abuse on social media yesterday evening. This is happening in all walks of life where cowardly people go online to vent their spleen anonymously on others. Isn’t it time something was done to bring social media under control?

He was racist.

So do we condemn him to sanctions forever? Or do we think about the fact that he was 17 and was maybe acting under peer pressure, or hadn't seen enough of the world to understand how unacceptable the thing was that he was doing?

Has anybody seen the post he is being condemned for?

I've no idea, but the fact is that institutions don't have to accept people with extreme, unacceptable views.

So you haven't seen it but you know that he has extreme, unacceptable views?

Hang on, I'll get my pitchfork and lighted torch.

I haven't seen the Snapchat, but I have read that he used a racial slur and was immediately criticised for it by the other people on the group chat.

So using a particular word in anger is reprehensible, but it doesn't mean he has extreme, unacceptable views.

The university considered it unacceptable.
What I think is neither here nor there.

“I feel social media platforms allow people to spread racism” says Patrice Evra on Sky today. Patrice is a retired black footballer who reckons racism is worse now than it was when he played for Man U 10 years ago. He blames it on social media and thinks they should be doing more to stop it. He also comments that it isn’t just in England. As we know most of the racists messages came from outside UK. He thinks education is important as well.

While the world waits with bated breath to see what the long-term impacts of COVID-19 will ultimately be, many have found solace in the popular platform TikTok. TikTok was widely popular among Generation but rose in popularity once the world was under stay-at-home orders, with many passing the time by recreating popular and viral dances. I think tik tok has become the most popular platform, and many have started looking for ways to have as many followers. And one is tikfreefollowers.com/buy-tiktok-likes/ that help them get to the pages of more people as quickly as possible.
