I would echo this.

You live and learn.

Someone I worked for used to say "Get it out of your life". This could apply to anything - people, objects, a job ... anything that is causing you stress or upset. I try to do that.

I thought I was poor because I had no shoes, until I saw a man who had no feet.
There is always somebody worse off. Let's count our blessings .

Never take more from the planet that you can give back.

When someone is unnecessarily unpleasant I say to myself, "Maybe their dog just died." You never really know what someone else is going though.

When I get bogged down with things I ask myself if it will really matter in a hundred years' time....and usually it won't even matter next week.

I did a course of CBT just over a year ago and in one session we talked of the 5 by 5 rule. "If it's not going to matter in 5 years then don't spend more than 5 minutes being upset about it." I'm learning but still fall foul of this occasionally.
