Good morning Mick and Morningsters.
Blue Cornish sky again. Plenty to do here. The calf didn’t struggle with the mowing yesterday so I will press on.
That is good such news Ash. So pleased. Such a lot of catch up celebrations to do.
I’ll give that some thought Esspee. Not easy buying for men. Like GD’s idea of fruit and the fancy socks.
I’ve done Pilates outside whilst on holiday. It was so lovely. Dragonfly46
Lots of dentist appointments coming up for GNers - hope all goes well.

Good Morning Wednesday
(76 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
Its a bright and sunny start here in Brackley this morning.
I noticed yesterday , the increase of traffic locally, due to the forthcoming F1 GP at Silverstone this coming weekend .
Mind you with one F1 team based in the town , plus motorsport related others it will be busy locally .
Take Care,
Mick
Good Morning everyone from sunshine and blue skies in the South ??.
Very pleased to have a vaccine pass registered on my ‘phone. At least I shall feel better after 1st August when no one will be allowed into restaurants and hospitals etc., if they can’t show such proof. Shocking to learn that some 40% of ‘health and care workers’ haven’t felt it necessary to have the vaccine. Now they’ll need to be vaccinated to care for vulnerable people or lose pay and possibly jobs. About time selfish people were forced to consider the welfare of others!
Loved your tale, Scentia. You possibly don’t remember - when video recorders were the thing - the joke that every household needed an 8 year old boy to work the wretched things? Nothing much changes in the world of technology, but the experts are definitely getting younger!
What a warrior you’re becoming, Alizarin. A freshly-killed lettuce? Who knew? By the way, be very careful when wrangling bamboo. That stuff can march through your garden, your home, almost take over your life if you’re not extremely watchful!!!
Grandmabatty ⛔️ WARNING….. if it’s Wednesday, take care and please take nice food ! Good luck!
Hope you get help for your Tinnitus and balance problems, Baubles. Good news Ash. Now book that crossing. France and Himself are waiting. ??
Keep safe everyone. Wishing you less worry, more fun and a very good Wednesday.
??♀️????????????
Good Morning everyone,
The sun keeps trying to break through in my part of South Yorkshire, but the cloud isn't giving up without a fight yet. I'm hoping it disperses as the morning progresses.
The grass has grown like mad after all the rain of recent days, so I really must get the mower out later and tidy it up again.
Had a catch up with my friend yesterday who has come back from a week away - it's done her good. Even though the weather there was as mixed as here, it was the change of scene and chance to relax that has been beneficial.
Lovely news, Ashcombe. Fingers crossed ? that you and old dudders don't have much longer to wait.
Well, I hope the day is kind to you all. Take care.
Came back looking for Marydoll!
Good morning from a warm sunny Morecambe Bay. Great news Ashcombe All things come to pass! I’m just off to do the church garden before it gets too hot. Hope Marydoll is on here later and that she is feeling ok. Take care and stay safe everyone ?
Good morning from North Yorkshire. It is a bright start to the day.
Espee if the mug can’t be sorted in time what about some posh marmalade or pickle?
I’m off to the market this morning then will come home and do some gardening. The lawns need cutting again after all the rain at the weekend. I have the Laurel hedge to finish too, it’s coming 2 feet into my garden from next door. My finger is still sore from last week’s efforts with the hedge trimmer.
It’s good to hear people are getting out and about and seeing friends and family. DGS is coming for a few days at the start of the school holidays later this month.
Marydoll I hope you are ok.
Take care everyone. Have a good day.
Good morning from a warm, but overcast Cambs.,
Great to hear lots of you are getting out & about, on holidays & day visits.
Better news for you Ashcombe, I did see on TV that a travel agent ( think it was Hayes, who took over Thomas Cook ), had some type of deal on the cost of covid tests.
I hope you get your infected bite sorted Nannytopsy.
I'm missing the "missing"!! hope Marydoll is OK, (& did we ever hear from EV?
Warm wishes to you all.
Good morning Auntyflo and all x
Good morning all from a very sunshiney S Hants, I slept in as the eye mask went on at 5:30. Very good news Ashcombe let’s hope so ?.
I’m off to a very good friends for lunch in Lyndhurst later with a mutual friend we used to work with, traffic shouldn’t be too bad as the schools aren’t off yet. MrJ isn’t working so will probably cut the grass and possibly bung the hoover round, similar movements for both!
Hope you all have a lovely day off on your various adventures with dry weather, staying safe xx
Good morning Mick, morning all from gloriously sunny South Lanarkshire.
Great news Ash!
Yesterday’s lunch and walk with my friend was so enjoyable. We had a wander in the street where I lived, the house I grew up in has gone but the rest of the street remains the same. She was amazed that I could remember the names of many of the families who lived in them fifty years ago.
This morning I have a telephone appointment with someone from ENT about my vertigo and ringing in my ears, no idea what the outcome could be. After that another friend is coming over for a walk and a visit to one of the local coffee shops.
Wishing you all a little sunshine in your day, a random ?would be a bonus.
Esspee
I meant to add a message to grandMattie.
I run a support group for friends. If you ever get the urge to iron feel free to contact me and I will talk you out of it. ?
<you’re welcome>
But I quite like ironing. Beats dusting hands down!
Good morning all from bright Harrogate
Great news Ash My fingers will be crossed ? for you.
Esspee how about a fun pair of socks?
Yesterday I heard my DGd had proposed to a boy at school and he said YES! She’ll probably find a new love today. Oh the fickle five year olds!!
Hoping for a trip to Aldi this morning- I do love a rummage down their middle aisles.
This pm hairdresser where I shall probably fall asleep, after a bad night!
Have as good a day as you can, folks!
Good morning from a brightening sky on the Lizard.
Today we are going to Cadgwith. A nice walk into the village and hopefully a fresh crab lunch with a sea view.
Good newsAshcombe
Wishing all a good day with a smile along the way.
Good morning all. Polmont is cloudy and warm today. Ashcombe good news.
Yesterday was enjoyable and tiring. The boy wonder loves to be outdoors and runs about. His grandma, not so much!
Today I'll visit mum as usual on a Wednesday then going to friend's for coffee. This afternoon I will potter about. My floors need washed after a toddler has dropped stuff so I'll probably do that. Have a good day all.
Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny ? Northampton, and a load of washing is in the machine already.
Spent yesterday afternoon trimming the very overgrown hedge on the drive between mine and neighbour's house. It is a pain, as neighbour never does it; it would only take him 5 minutes as he has a hedge trimmer, whereas I use shears as I don't trust myself with a hedge trimmer - too scared of cutting an arm off! Also sprayed the many weeds that have taken up residence on my drive.
Sainsbury's delivery this morning, as I decided I would make a couple of cakes to take on holiday only to find I didn't have enough dried fruit or flour. I will put the fruit to soak in hot tea overnight and then bake them tomorrow.
Good news Ash, hope everything works out for you.
Still trying to catch a cat for flea and worming treatment! She is being very awkward, almost as if she knows; perhaps her sister told her......
Wishes to all for a good day.
Thank you, everyone, for your lovely comments re my news. Gingster: we last bade farewell in person on 4th October, 2020, so we've missed being together for our Wedding Anniversary, his birthday, Christmas, Valentine's Day, Easter and my birthday! ?
Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a very sunny South Yorkshire. It’s set to be a warm one. I don’t have a lot to do today except some food shopping. Son in law is supposed to be calling over to get the top box for his car which has been overwintering in our garage. We do come in useful sometimes!
Have a happy day, one and all.
Good morning from sunny Leicestershire.
That is really exciting news Ashcombe.
Really enjoyed my last Pilates class yesterday due to the lovely people I met there. I do prefer to exercise outdoors though.
Today we are having our feet seen to. We could manage ourselves but DH is diabetic.
Then coffee this afternoon with good friends.
Have a good day.
Good morning from sunny Shropshire.
Ash, what lovely news to start the day??that you and olddudders will be reunited very soon???
DD’s Covid test came back negative late morning yesterday so we celebrated with a drive to Montgomery and had lunch out.It is only 22 miles away but we had never been in all the years we have lived here.Such a pretty little town.
Thank you for the information re getting the tests muse.
Hoping for a quiet day today, just bed changing and lawn mowing.
Hoping to hear from Mary today??
Have a good day all??
Thank you for the offer of bamboo NanKate, I'll take a look at it next time I'm passing your place.
Good morning all from Essex. The forecast is good and yesterday turned out sunny and hot ?. DH and I went for a longish walk with little pooch, over the fields and woods. So beautiful with the grasses and wild flowers. Butterfly’s galore. What a treat! ???.
Today I’m walking with my old pal/neighbour and her little dog. Back for coffee and a chat. This evening I’m have dinner with ‘my lovely girl’. I’ve finished the crochet blanket for her expected baby and will give it to her tonight. I hope she likes it. ?. She wanted bright colours as we don’t know yet if it’s a boy or girl. ??.
dgd1 will be coming home from Uni today. Her first year has been a mishmash . Zoom lectures mostly but she had a placement at a school with autistic children and enjoyed it very much. Her birthday is Saturday, so we hope to see her before we decamp to our seaside cottage for the rest of the summer ?.
Ash it’s looking good for you and Olddudders . How long has it been now ?
B9 how lovely that you found your uncles tree. A shame it looked a bit poorly.
Scentia I’m glad you had fun with little GC . A 2 yr old showing you how to turn on the hob ! ?. It says it all! Life used to be so simple !
GG your Gs certainly has a good appetite. Two of my gds (5 and 9)( different families ) hardly eat a thing. ?. The other 6 GC eat like there’s no tomorrow! ?.
Here’s hoping your days are good ones! ?
Thank-you for your suggestions, Nannagarra, Nannytopsy and Grandmadinosaur. The coffee mug suggestion reminded me I recently took a great photo of him. I wonder how quickly I could have it transferred onto a coffee mug?
Off out now to find out.
Wonderful.
Morning Mick, morning All. Blue sky over our corner of Somerset, hooray.
A bit weary after our two days wandering, it was to be anticipated so why did I think an early grocery delivery was a good idea? Oh well, take custody of it then the day can be as slow as we choose.
That sounds positive ashcombe, some hope at last. Sorry espee, no suggestions to add. That rang bells scentia, in my case the oven gave in, the hob however has remained stubbornly contrary.
Take care everyone, hope Wednesday is kind to us all.
"Grans !" Blooming busybody phone thinks it knows what I mean.
Good morning from what appears to be another gorgeous day here on the east coast of Fife Espee why don’t you buy a book token and if he’s got a dog a shampoo token, tokens are always useful they can be spent at leisure or a lunch token in his favourite cafe, eatery place any kind of token which might interest him, an annual subscription of a catalogue or magazine just google there’s loads about.
Yesterday’s weather was beautiful I had a little strength where I managed a couple of trips into the garden listening to the water feature bubbling away, watching all the wildlife around me. I had to wear a golf cap and sunglasses the top of my head began to get quite hot I had to nag himself to wear a hat too he doesn’t have much hair up top to protect his heid from the sun rays
I heard men can get serious conditions up there if not properly looked after. Himself spent all day in the garden yesterday it’s looking really very smart and he’s looking very brown. It’s not all down to golf
This very minute he’s now outside watering his precious plants they’re going to look beautiful for our annual family bbq next week.
Thanks to Nicola for the briefing yesterday allowing us to go to 0 from the 19th july congratulations all you clever people who continue to dae as yet telt
Have a good day everyone
enjoy this wonderful weather we’re having at the moment. Take care
