Esspee Always happened to me until I overcame problem by composing GN message first in my Word processor; then add photos to GN message box and finally copy/paste message from Word processor into message box!
Beats having to re-type message!

Slinking in... Hot, hot hot in Scottish Borders. Glorious but too much for me. Have had two twenty minute spells in the garden then came in. Taking it very easy and enjoyed catching up with everyone else's news earlier. Thinking of you Nannytopsy and all with tribulations.

I realise it is no longer morning but the post I wrote about 7ish this morning frustratingly disappeared when I switched to another screen to select photos to add.
Perhaps I can do a catch up tomorrow. ☹️

Looking very tasty * muse*. I have just been pinged to self isolate for 10 days from Thursday ?. There are about 4 cases in our whole postcode and I met one!! Here’s hoping the vaccine does its stuff!

Yesterday, was Specsavers. No one can visit them without an an appointment and it was packed. ☹️ I was there nearly 1 1/2 hrs. ?. It was then it was a mad hobble back to the car park. Ticket time ran out as I left the opticians.

I finished my day with swollen leg (knee to toes), need to get new glasses and told to see doctor about a lump on my bottom eye lid.

Big plus of the day was that I’d called at the fishmongers for something for dinner.

Have joy with your families and my thoughts are with soop and her family.

Good morning, Mick and all from sunny Carlisle. Unusually, my blinds are pulled down on the sunny side and I have dug out my fan. I plan not to exert myself today, it's too warm and I'm a bit under the weather with a muzzy head etc. Good reasons to start a new book! I've had to get out and water my new plantings though, they are being very thirsty.
The postie came with a small box which turned out to contain a selection of macarons, a birthday present from my brother. I had to have one immediately, delicious! He also sent a spanish cookbook on the Mediterranean diet, presumably he thought this a useful follow up.
It sounds like you will have a great day, Dwmxwg, lovely to get the whole family together like that.
I hope you enjoy the results of DD's efforts with the barbecue, Marydoll, and that watching doesn't prove to be too stressful an experience!

Good morning all GNs from a warm. sunny Herts, another hot day of 29 c is forecast.
Am doing plenty of chores this morning, washing, kitchen etc.
Later on we hope to move some of our tomato plants from the tunnel to a sunny spot in the garden as they are too crowded and need more room to grow. Yesterday, DH pnuned them back quite a bit so hopefully we'll see some flowers and hence fruit later? At least the beans have plenty of buds so we should have a good crop, fingers crossed.

Good morning all from sunny Lancashire where there isn’t a cloud in the sky. It’s so good to read of everyone getting out and about and seeing loved ones. Yesterday we had an unexpected trip out to the animal feed merchants. It’s a lovely drive down country lanes and in addition to all the poultry, sheep and horse feed it has a pet section. We buy bird food there and Mr. B wanted a new bird feeder as well.

Glad you’re on the mend Marydoll, let your DD have her moment in the spotlight. I adore Skipton market Hollysteers, don’t forget to treat yourself to a Yorkshire curd tart. Ness is wonderful Nannagarra, I shall add it to my ever growing list of places I really need to visit once I’m allowed out.

I harvested shallots and garlic yesterday which were very successful but I think it’s too warm to fill the space with beetroot and lettuce. Perhaps tomorrow evening, as Monday should be cooler.

I know what you mean GrandmaFrench - we have several pairs of wood pigeons and collared doves here which provide the theme music to our summers. There must be someone local who likes pigeon pie!
I have a mountain of ironing and yet more washing, so I should get on with that but the lovely weather outside might be too tempting. After all what is retirement to the country for? ?

Ness Gardens

Good morning from super sunny Sefton.
Yesterday’s visit to Ness Gardens was a joy. As per, insects gorged on me. “You’re probably the only person to have been bitten,” said DH. Pics are of a border just outside the visitors’ centre and the view towards Wales. I’m loving those upthread; thank you - they add to the pleasure on GM.
Our DGD is arriving at lunchtime and staying for a sleepover. We’re so looking forward to it. The paddling pool will soon be set up and DS will bring her bike.
Sending special wishes and comforting thoughts for Toby in the hope that soop is reading this.

Grandmafrench, I wish you could have seen my two sons playing catch with the little one, throwing him from one to the other like a ball. The tiddler absolutely adores it and my very thought was that he should join a circus! I've never seen a child able to shape himself in mid air like he does.

Good morning from a sunny NE, it was 21 degrees when I woke up.
We kept the Dyson on all night which kept the bedroom at an acceptable temperature.
My sister will bring freshly baked pasties and the newspapers, we will have a drink and a chat probably in the garden.
I was outside all afternoon yesterday and despite the very large parasol I still burnt my arms.
Family were at Chedworth roman villa yesterday, GD is studying classics and expressed an interest in visiting.
Infection rate is rising, take care and hang on to your masks.

It's a beautiful morning here in South Yorkshire with not a cloud in the sky yet. The thermometer is set to reach 30 degrees this afternoon, so shelter from it will be required then. At the moment the lounge is the coolest place to sit as the sun hasn't got round to it yet.

Will pop out and water the pots before the sun bakes the plants.

Good morning Mick and all from Tunisia, oops northwest Lancashire. Off in the sun to Skipton, market day, but really shouldn’t buy anything apart from a nice pie…
Lovely day yesterday as our little art group had lunch at an Italian restaurant after the session (my watercolour looked as if I’d had a nosebleed all over it). Our Italian, young waiter, very handsome with shoulder length dark brown hair and smouldering eyes, looked as if he had stepped out of a Renaissance painting. I suggested to the group that we should invite him to sit for us ?. Then I sauntered or flaneured around town, looked up an old boyfriend (shocked how ancient he seemed lol) and sat and listened to a singer. Not one modern pop song I recognised, but nice.
