Morning from a currently overcast S Lanarkshire but another warm day to come. For the first time in ages I had a restless night in spite of open windows, really muggy here.
Lovely outdoor lunch yesterday with a friend whom I haven’t seen since before the first lockdown. It was good to see her although it was sad to hear of the difficulties she and her husband are having at the moment due to him having been diagnosed with Parkinson’s since we were last together. His particular type makes him very prone to falling and he is currently in hospital after a bad fall.
Also concerned about the possibility of my planned holiday with my young grandchildren having to be called off. My sister in law who we will be staying with, phoned last night to say our nephew and partner arrived for a planned overnight visit on Friday with him laden with a cold and generally not feeling very well at all. She asked him to take one of the lateral flow tests she has and it was negative but he volunteered to have a full test on their way home, which he has done and we await the result.
He is a lovely young man, for some reason it just hadn’t occurred to him that his cold just might be more than that. Hopefully it wasn’t!
Lovely photo baubles, by the water with family, perfect!
Wishing everyone the best day possible??

Good Morning Sunday
(57 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
Its looking like the start of another hot day here in Brackley this morning .
Today for me later will see me watch the final stage of this years Tour de france with its usual finish on the Champs Elysees hoping for a british winner in Mark Cavendish as to the stage.
Otherwise a quiet day in .
Take Care,
Mick
Good morning from a very warm S Welsh coast. I slept better last night thanks to a fan in the bedroom.
Looking forward to one of ours and his little family coming for a BBQ later.
Yesterday morning we took the dog for a walk before it got too hot, the tide was in and we sat on a bench looking out to sea. It was so calm and we saw a pod of dolphins bobbing up and down. A jet skier slowed and went alongside them, they stayed by him, he must have had a great view of them. A lovely moment.
Have a good day everyone.
Morning Mick , morning All. Already very warm and unusually no breeze to cool our corner of Somerset.
Enjoyed our beach trip yesterday, breakfast on the terrace of a beach cafe, coffee at the waters edge, there also had to be ice cream. Enough breeze to keep it a pleasant temperature. Walked too far as my achey legs attest but enjoyed every second. A not very much day today. A poorly neighbourhood asked me to go for a chat, there will be laundry to process, ironing to ignore, gammon will find its way into the slow cooker, that’s about it for today.
Enjoy what you can of the day everyone, hope Sunday is kind to us all.
Morning all.
Very hot in Cheshire.
Love the pic Baubles zoomed in to see the "coos'
Hats off to all you early posters. I couldn't sleep because of the heat so could nap now !
Even though there's nothing to stop me , I just can't do that. Years of early rising so now go on a guilt trip if "lazy"
Have a peaceful Sunday.
Good morning from wall to wall sunshine in Leicestershire.
Walking in the cool woods with a friend this morning then will sit in the garden under a tree and read this afternoon.
Lamb or beef for dinner - can’t decide.
I hope everyone keeps their cool today.
Good morning Mick and all who follow from the Black country. Sunny start here again.
Just been out to water the pots in the garden and in the middle of the lawn is a bag of dog poo Yuk? how it's got there is a mystery unless we've upset the neighbours.
Chill day today I think roast pork for dinner DH favourite.
Will read everyone's happenings and news after breakfast.
Enjoy your day and may you all find some ?
Good Morning. A bright one in N . Bucks.
Lovely to hear about all your outings and meet ups
We had an easy drive home yesterday . Lovely holiday but I’m always happy to get back.
Washing is on the line and we are off in an hour to DD3s house for a belated birthday brunch with the family. Sadly DGS1 has to work and one Son in law is having to miss out as they have a rather large leak problem in the bathroom which needs sorting.
Can’t wait to see everyone else especially two little DGS . Baby Charlie will have changed a fair bit in 3 weeks.
Thoughts with all who are feeling poorly or troubled.
Have the best day you can and hopefully a smile along the way.
Good morning from a sunny NE.
It is already very warm and the Dyson has been on all night.
Several hours were spent in the garden yesterday but it was quite windy.
DD and SIL are visiting this afternoon and bringing shopping from Aldi.
It is DIL's birthday today but we won't get to see her as she is staying at her parent's home.
Enjoy the sunshine.
Good morning everyone from a beautiful start to the day here on the east coast of Fife. The fan was on all night creating a cool breeze and a comfortable nights sleep.
That’s himself away to water the garden the flowers are looking great apart from the beautiful poppies which don’t last too long.
Yesterday was another lunch date with a couple of friends I was disappointed to get my calamari chopped up instead of the usual rings mind you they were delicious my battered cod fish fingers were delicious too (a small portion) I can’t eat too much in this heat
The restaurant had all the outside doors wide open causing a delightful breeze my DH as always the joker said he didn’t know where it was coming from but he sure knew where it was going
he was wearing shorts
have a good day everyone remember to keep in the shade if it’s boiling out there and drink plenty (water)
Good morning all from Polmont. It's overcast but very warm. This is my second attempt at posting as my first wouldn't go. Gransnet didn't like the photo of my breakfast from yesterday.
Scentia enjoy your bikini. Marydoll just as well you were prepared for any eventuality! Baubles a view looking over water is my dream. I haven't been at the sea for three years! It's ridiculous, I know.
Yesterday I had breakfast with my son at a lovely restaurant in Stirling. We ate outside under a canopy and it was so peaceful and pleasant. I had eggs Florentine and it was lovely. Later I pottered about and did the rest of the housework, ironing, Polishing and cleaning etc. It was warm in the afternoon so I didn't do much at all.
Today I have no plans and I'll see what the day brings. I'll water the garden. I must get a hose. I use watering cans and I didn't mind using them, but as I've added more and more plants, I need to fill those cans more and more. Humping them about isn't helping my dodgy left wrist/tendonitis. Whatever you do, have a good day all.
Good Morning everyone from a very warm Severnside.
I had a lovely day yesterday. A craft workshop in the afternoon then I came home, made a sandwich and sat outside reading until late then I just sat looking around at my shrubs as they darkened against the evening sky and swished about in the breeze. It was so peaceful.
One year when my brothers went to the BGP they flew in by helicopter Mick.
Enjoy your day all ???
Good morning Mick and all his followers. Cloudless in Suffolk and warming up already. I am up early to water the greenhouse and the newly planted stuff before it gets too hot. I may do a bit of weeding too.
Glad your bbq went well Marydoll - maybe DH can be persuaded later?
It’s good to hear of all the outings and the bikini of course!
Having a call to tell me I must isolate was a shock yesterday morning. We have a small group who meet for coffee twice a month and this is only the second since it reopened. I helped the Covid positive lady wipe up in the small kitchen at the end so await next week nervously. At least I have been double vaccinated.
I hope the day is kind to everyone.
Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve got light grey cloud but it’s warm and muggy. We had a good journey home yesterday from our holiday cottage, the roads were busy so we took the slightly longer scenic route up through Glencoe. That was busy too but we found a lovely picnic spot to enjoy our lunch. Today we’re unloading the car which will take a while and getting the washing done. I think we’ve unfortunately bought quite a bit of sand back with us that is hiding everywhere
Hoping everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all in the hot weather ?
Good morning from a hot, sunny Colchester.
I'm not a sun worshipper, so I'll nip to the shops for a couple of bits and then stay cool in the shade or indoors.
Roast chicken this evening.
Love to all x
Good morning all from a warm, sunny, S Hants, family here for bbq later, then a quiet evening.
Enjoy the last day of the tour Mick, I expect MrJ will be watching the golf when he can sneak away from bbq duties.
Love that view baubles reminds me of happy trips to Scotland.
Enjoy your day all, whatever you’re up to, don’t forget to put water out for the ???.
I forgot to mention British GP F1 up the road takes place today , but what is aw of traffic yesterday very low , with many using the Park & Ride facility and then bus transfer to Silverstone .
Take Care,
Mick
Morning Mick and All from an increasingly hot New Forest.
We are going to Exbury Gardens nearby today as we thought it would be best to be near trees and shade on what will be a very hot day. They have a small train that takes you round the gardens which will be fun.
I can just imagine you Mary sneaking away for your fudge fest ?
Well done with the bikini, Scentia. Too much hanging around for me with mine. I'll pass.
Morning Mick and all
Another scorcher here in S E Essex, definitely sun lounger and book day ??
Not so quiet yesterday as DD and The Imp arrived, she had her second jab Friday and felt horrid, obviously she wanted her Mum!!
DH will throw something on the BBQ later?
Keep safe and well folks ?♀️?
Oh, Scentia, your bikini comment certainly made me smile! ???
my efforts come to naught it is such a waste of time so I’ll bow out for now
Esspee Good Morning, do not despair! !
Your shining White Knight has just come to your rescue on the Good Morning Saturday thread!
OoRoo
Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it is warm already?
Yesterday I went sofa shopping, best time to go, everyone was out in their gardens, the places were empty! Think I have found one, but now I have done all the legwork DH will want to assert his authority and come along and ‘pass’ it as suitable?. He knows what will happen if it isn’t passed, so why does he bother having a say anyway!!!!
Went over to DD last night and she was quite distraught as DGD has been sun burned on one side as she hadn’t noticed the sun had moved round?. It’s not that bad but didn’t stop her calling 111, just a cold flannel and a bit of aloe (just like mummy said).
A day in the garden today, I have donned my bikini already this morning and it’s not a pretty sight, well not as pretty as it was prior to lockdown anyway!
Have a lovely day my friends, smile and enjoy the sunshine ?
Good morning all from a muggy Glasgow, it's 15C here, with an other warm day predicted. Like Ashcombe, I have had a wander around the garden to get some air. I'm finding myself quite breathless these days, which is a blooming pain in the neck to say the least.
My family don't usually see me at my worst and I thought I had got away with it this morning, until DD appeared downstairs, when I set the alarm off at 6.30am! I was unaware DD had been down earlier, (SIL's snoring!) and switched the alarm off. I thought it was on and of course put it back on again, instead of switching it off. This resulted in a very loud noise, as I blundered half asleep into the kitchen to make tea! ?.
Baubles lovely view there, have a lovely time with your family.
Well, I survived yesterday's barbecue, despite it taking hours for DD to cook the food. I was so hungry, I eventually found myself hiding in the utility room , sneakily eating a bag of Thornton's fudge, which I had no intention of sharing with anyone!
I have included a photo, which reveals my confidence in DD's first sortie into the world of barbecue cooking. ?
All joking aside, she did exceptionally well and we had a lovely day together.
The only downside was that some things never change, she suddenly vanished when it came to cleaning up!
A resting day for me today, reading the papers and just pottering. Have a great day everyone, whatever your plans.
Good morning from an already hot and sunny Essex by the sea.
We spent yesterday morning at the boat, but it was very hot and went to a local pub garden for a drink in the afternoon.
We may go out today, somewhere near water as it's usually slightly cooler.
Enjoy a sunny Sunday and don't forget the suncream xx
Morning all! Disappointingly, it's a bit grey here but the sky holds promise. I'm greedy enough to want more than two solid days of sunshine. However there's an inquenchable joy here in that the family are still in residence. I do so love their visits. They're off home today and I'll take the time to recover and reflect. Hope everyone can find something that brings joy to them today.
