Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Lins1066 Fri 23-Jul-21 08:19:55

Good morning from a still warm S Welsh coast.
A friend is coming for coffee this morning, we will sit on the patio and put the world to rights. It is our wedding anniversary today, we have never made much of anniversaries but Mr Lins has just brought me breakfast in bed and a lovely bunch of flowers, think I will keep him ?
I'm sorry about your friend Ash that's no age is it.
Thinking of our missing posters, especially our Friday girl today. Best wishes to all those who are struggling for whatever reason.

Dwmxwg Fri 23-Jul-21 08:30:05

Good morning all from a sunny north Surrey. Feels a few degrees cooler.
Sorry to her of the death of your theatre friend Ash.
I let the boys stay up late last night to watch the moon rise and look at it through the binoculars. They loved it and are now reliving the experience looking at the photos DGS1 took. I do love to experience things through their young eyes.
After they had gone to bed we discovered maggots in our kitchen, yuck. DH spent an hour cleaning out the bin and cupboard whilst I “supervised”. Thankfully the rubbish week is next week and our collection is on a Monday so his job will be to power wash the wheelie bin once it is empty.
I was up early and been to the gym and washing is on the line. Waiting for the boys to say they are hungry as they are having pancakes for breakfast. DD is just having couple of hours sleep as she has booked them for the dentist late morning. Good timing as I am working a late so will be off to work.
My car is going in for a service and MOT this morning so will be borrowing DH’s to get to work.
Will clean the bathrooms this morning and instructions for DH to give the kitchen a good clean later today. Also need to take the gazebo down before rain which is forecast for tomorrow. Not as simple as it sounds as DH and I are both rubbish at anything technical (and we will definitely make it so).
Wishing all a happy Friday ?☀️

Good morning Mick, morning all from South Lanarkshire where it’s rather cloudy at the moment.

Sad news about your friend Ash, so young.

That looks interesting Gelisajams, pity you couldn’t go inside. Love the flamingoes GG13

What a good idea to review your day like that Kim, I often ask the GC what the best but if their day was but never think about my own experiences. I’ll give it a go.

Yesterday’s afternoon at Gullane beach was fun with DS’s two little ones, it stayed overcast until late in the day which meant it was perfect weather for them to play and paddle. There was even a one way system on and off the beach as the paths through the dunes are narrow.

Charity shop day for me, I hope there’s lots of bric to sort through, there were slim pickings on my last day so the shelves were a little uninspiring.

Hope it’s a peaceful day for everyone.

Marydoll when dad retired he bought an enormous caravan at Kinkell Braes. The children were small and loved going there, as did the adults. Sadly, having bought it, mum and dad didn't really enjoy it and a few years on, they sold it. My children still have fond memories of the caravan and St Andrews, hence going tomorrow!

Lins1066 Fri 23-Jul-21 08:35:53

Thank you Jax, Gingster and Grandmabatty it is our 44th.
Last night's moon was amazing Dwm I'm sure your grandsons enjoyed it.

Happy Anniversary Mr&MrsLins???

NannyJan53 Fri 23-Jul-21 08:51:37

Good morning from a slightly cooler Black Country.

Thoughts of my Dad today, as it would have been his 98th birthday.

DD and family go on holiday to Wales today. Hopefully it will not rain too much!

Not been to the Zoo for a very long time Monk, even though it is nearby. Have memories of going often when a child. No real plans today, just go with the flow.

So sorry to hear about your friend Ashcombe flowers

Happy Anniversary Mr&Mrs Lins wine flowers

Congratulations, Mr&Mrs Lins Have a lovely day! ??

Nannytopsy Fri 23-Jul-21 09:14:27

Good morning Mick and all his followers. It’s overcast and breezy in Suffolk and much cooler. I shall cut the lawn and do a bit more weeding.
It’s good to have something to look forward to with these theatre trips and trips away. I think I shall look for something in the early autumn.
We had a Tesco home delivery yesterday evening, since I have a couple more days of isolation. They now bring everything in crates which you have to unpack, so DH unpacked them into bags which I then unpacked in the kitchen.
I was reminded of your DH Marydoll when I found two loaves of bread at the bottom of a bags, with bags of onions and potatoes on top. Well they won’t fit in the toaster! I did have gentle words ?.
I hope the day is kind to everyone.

Good morning all,

It’s an overcast start to the day here in South Yorkshire but is supposed to brighten up a bit as the day progresses. It’s a little cooler, though still feels quite muggy and was still uncomfortable through the night.

Sorry to hear about your friend, Ashcombe, so sad.

Well, I’ll pop out and water the tomato plants (which are a disappointment so far this year, with little sign of many fruits). I remain optimistic that they will improve though, but they are certainly not as far on as this time last year.

Happy anniversary Mr and Mrs Lins. ??

Good luck all from a sunny Lancashire. It’s much cooler here today thanks to a very strong breeze, which is lovely! Yesterday we had a trip to the fells above Trough of Bowland, took a picnic and had a lovely time. It was very peaceful, when the sun comes out here everyone heads for the beaches. We’ve had a very busy week so not a lot planned for today.

Your theatre trip sounds wonderful Mick, Condolences to Ashcombe on the loss of your friend. Happy Anniversary Mr and Mrs lins.

Sounds like everyone had a busy day yesterday, and lots affected by wheezing in the heat. Hope all have a restful Friday. ?

Blossoming Fri 23-Jul-21 09:49:43

It was supposed to say good morning!

B9exchange Fri 23-Jul-21 09:55:06

Good morning all, SW Herts now, we are back home and ploughing through the washing.

Ash I am so sorry to hear of your loss.

But today is DH's birthday, and he has opened his surprise. A trip to DriveDad'sCar to drive an Austin 7, a Jaguar XS and a Rolls Royce. It means packing to go away again, our cat sitters have stayed on (DH was puzzled why they were still here!

Tomorrow I am going with some friends to a picnic on the lawns of Buckingham Palace (yes, really!) grin and DH will pick me up from the station on my return and we will then head up to Derbyshire. for his driving experience on Sunday, then two days with DD and family in a cottage.

Keep safe and well everyone.

Blossoming Fri 23-Jul-21 09:58:12

Ooh B9 that sounds wonderful, if hectic! Have a great weekend.

Going morning Mick and Morningsters. Hardly any blue in these mid Cornwall skies. I’m still sat with bare arms though. Legs are never exposed to the sun these days. Perhaps the odd pair of crops. Main reason is my walk through the wood with Mya. Ticks?

Happy anniversary to Mr&MrsLins ??????
Enjoy the shows/performances when the dates arrive mick and grandmabatty.
I’m so grateful that Sainsbury’s is totally crated now nannytopsy. Even then I had my cereal with a slightly crushed edge the other week. Delivery lady had spotted it. “I’ll mark it as damaged and you’ll get a refund.” Then handed it to me. A few free breakfasts ?
scentia. After my hand injury, my surgeon advised I took painkillers before any prolonged strenuous activities. It is still painful afterwards but no where near as much as when I didn’t take any. Enjoy those swims.

It did sadden me read about your lovely theatre friend Ash. I want everyone to live a healthy, full and long life. If only I ruled the world …

Lots of fun today with visits to parks, pools , zoos and many more jovial activities for you Morningsters. ?

I have 3 solar lights to collect. I want to hang them under the garden parasol. Quick shop at Morrison’s then back to my sewing which will continue outside. I’m not moving in until it rains.

Keep those ? on if the sun is still above you. Stay safe Morningsters and I include the missing ☹️ ones. I hope they are still dropping into GN occasionally. Come back soon ?

B9exchange Happy Birthday to MrB sounds like an excellent present he has there.
I’m very envious of your trip to BP tomorrow. I’ve done the tour of the Palace. It’s amazing when you walk out at the end through the gardens. They are so tranquil and hard to think it’s the centre of London. Enjoy!

gillgran Fri 23-Jul-21 10:09:43

Good Morning to you all from an overcast Cambs., It seems a little "less hot" today.

Happy Anniversary Mr&MrsLins, flowers

Good idea to book trips Mick, nice to have something to look forward to.

Take Care, I hope you all have a good weekend.

hollysteers Fri 23-Jul-21 10:11:07

Good morning Mick and all from another of the same Lancashire coast.
Lovely to have a show booked Mick, we need things to look forward to.
Making good use of my fan and it makes a world of difference.
A friend had arranged to come for a couple of days tomorrow but has changed it to Sunday. Haven’t looked at the weather, but I certainly haven’t felt like being the hostess with the mostess recently. Must change sheets etc.
Watched a great noir film last night ‘Fallen Angel” with Linda Darnell 1945. She died in a fire aged only 41. I remember my mother talking about her. I love those atmospheric black and white old films, (not all) even when the backgrounds look iffy and people had specs with no glass in?.
Very young to die Ashcombe, so sad for all concerned.
Belated birthday greetings to Gingster and GrannyGravy.
Most of the birthdays connected to me are in the Spring.
Hope you all have a cool day, yeah man??

Georgesgran Fri 23-Jul-21 10:21:56

Good morning from Durham where it’s brightening up nicely, following a strange overcast day yesterday. Haven’t posted recently - seem to be stuck in a rut!
Collecting DGS from Nursery tonight and he’s having a sleepover with me, as DD1 and SIL are at Ladies Day tomorrow at Newcastle Races. DGS isn’t a good eater, so need to get something to tempt him.
Best wishes to those celebrating and sympathy to those with heavy hearts. X

Gwenisgreat1 Fri 23-Jul-21 10:24:00

Good Morning all from drizzly Harrogate - a welcome relief! Though I have to say I have enjoyed the heat!
Sorry about your friend Ash so young, too.
I wouldn't have thought spraying paint and lung problems were compatible Marydoll But you were probably togged up to protect yourself.
Happy Anniversary Mr & Mrs Linn.
Yesterday I had a friend round who gave me reflexology, then in the evening I was babysitting for my DGS. He might have Down Syndrome, but like any 7 year old he had a plan. My DD informed me he would probably come downstairs, lie on the settee and go to sleep, right? Wrong!! He came downstairs got on the settee and announced "no leep" (i'm not going to sleep).
He wandered round the house (I hurriedly shut the front door - he is an escapologist!). He grabbed a boxed toy and ran out to the garden on to his trampoline. I eventually managed to part him from the box which I suspected was a present for another little boy (correct). I told him I was going indoors, he followed me in. went upstairs to his mothers bed was tempted to leave him there but bothered in case he would start messing with her make-up. He went to his bedroom, got his piggy bank and emptied it over the floor, then downstairs got the play-doh out, made me 'toast' and a 'cake'. I persuaded him to get on the settee and find a story for me to read which he did, repeating 'no leep' After a while I told him I wasn't playing, and i got my laptop out and sat on the other settee. He came over and started to cuddle me, trying to win me over and finally at 9.30pm he fell asleep!! What a little monkey!!

Hope you all enjoy your respite from the heat and have a good day!!

Jaxjacky Fri 23-Jul-21 10:24:09

Happy Birthday MrB9 ??? exciting cars, I hope you have fun!
