we have no shops left locally now Debenhams has gone, are there any recommendations for the best online sites something in the M&S price range.

I seem to have a lot of luck with M and S although their trousers don’t work for me. I check the website or app a couple of times a week, always looking at the “new in” section. It’s easy to order and easy to return. I would also recommend Monsoon. Some lovely things and lots of good reductions at sale time.

Lagenlook, has some nice bits too. Mostly linen and quirky

I received an Otrium order today, albeit five hours later than predicted. (It fell out of the van at the depot, the driver had to go back for it!!?)

I spent less than £50 for three items from Sandwich, which would have cost over £220 at full price.
I'm delighted with my purchases.

They have 20% off their sale at the moment.

Loving Sosandar at the moment. Struggled to find tops that were not "Comfort Fit" and looked ridiculously big on me but their clothes fit well and look great.

Sandelf-as a size six I have been avoiding posting as everyone thinks it's easy to get nice things if you are tiny ( am only 4 foot 11) but I find Boden is good for dresses.
Have been very pleased with M and S trousers lately. Have a look at their Mia range. Boden t shirts good quality. M and S t shirt quality is dire for the most part. They have list the plot.

I like Lands End. Classic. Good quality. And they have an excellent money back guarantee - any reason, no quibble, no time limit. And the people are lovely.

Grandmajean Mon 26-Jul-21 10:55:47

Lost not list. Why does my phone always think it knows what I mean ? Such arrogance !smile

Mrst1405 Mon 26-Jul-21 10:57:26

Landsend is fabulous, good prices especially on the sales. They have petite, average and plus sizes and excellent customer service.

Lowley Mon 26-Jul-21 10:58:56

Since lockdown Toast, Cos, Mango, Sandwich.
We have Seasalt. Joules, Crew, Fatface, Quba, Saltrock in our small seaside town. Nice clothes, but similar casual look.

I’d love to afford cos, sandwich, Masai, jigsaw ALL the time !!

Severnsider Mon 26-Jul-21 11:09:58

Patra has some good clothes to order online. A lot in pure cotton which is quite rare these days

Also I like Roman originals. Very quick service and easy returns.

My Favorite shop on line is And other stories ... really good quality and I often buy things in the sale. Boden is lovely too. For basic separates I buy from Kettlewell .

Theoddbird Mon 26-Jul-21 11:14:33

I buy pre loved on ebay. I buy good brands in cotton and linen for a fraction of brand new price....

Theoddbird Mon 26-Jul-21 11:20:43

I buy pre loved cotton and linen clothes from ebay. All good brands at a fraction of the cost.

luluaugust Mon 26-Jul-21 11:26:32

House of Bruar, have lots of different ranges, sale on at present. I like Bon Marche for everyday t shirts and like some of the more unusual Masai clothes.

kwest Mon 26-Jul-21 11:36:46

Seasalt is a particular favourite of mine.
I love Kaftans especially in the hot weather we have been having. Tutunbankem (spelling might be slightly off ) are very good especially when they have a sale. They never go out of fashion. I have four or five of them..
Lands end for stretchy trousers and good quality pima cotton V neck T shirts for exercise classes, gardening shopping.
This thread is a brilliant idea. I wish we could have a permanent one dedicated to this subject. When I get time I am going to explore all of the names that I am not familiar with.

Frogs Mon 26-Jul-21 11:38:10

Seasalt and Joules have ‘outlet’ shops on EBay - worth a look.

GraceQuirrel Mon 26-Jul-21 11:38:35

Joe Browns will make you look older.

Hush is over rated and over priced. I’ve had some awful quality tops from there, the fabric is so cheap.

Sara1954 Mon 26-Jul-21 11:43:56

I disagree regarding Hush, I’ve had some lovely things, very good quality.

maryelizabethsadler Mon 26-Jul-21 11:45:20

...and I love Bon Marche! Very reasonably priced, lovely varied styles and excellent customer service. They do lots of bright patterns and designs which I love, and I notice now they stock other brands as well as their own. Excellent value - it's all in the name...

Rosalyn69 Mon 26-Jul-21 11:47:14

I buy a lot from Hush and I agree that some of their clothing is sub par. I’ve just returned some horrendous slippery culottes sad
Zara are good but their website is “challenging”

GardenofEngland Mon 26-Jul-21 12:09:03

I have used Kaleidoscope for many, many years and still do. But I do occasionally shop in Bonmarche they have some lovely summer dresses.

MawBe Mon 26-Jul-21 12:12:17

Didn’t Bon Marché go into liquidation?
Some people failing in their duty??

HannahLoisLuke Mon 26-Jul-21 12:39:04

I like Gudrun Sjodens too but having bought a few items over the years I do think they’re very overpriced. Very basic clothes, hardly ever lined but the colours and patterns are lovely. I think she charges Swedish prices!
Having said that they do last.

Dearknees1 Mon 26-Jul-21 12:43:47

No one's mentioned Desigual. A particular style so not to everyone's taste and not always mine. I started buying from them during lockdown and have some lovely unusual things all bought in sales. XL usually fits me perfectly- I'm normally 14/16! UPS collect returns and refunds arrive promptly.
