Goodmorning from a slightly cooler , but sunny Glasgow.
DH is golfing and I'm off to buy a papaya for my sore mouth, on the recommendation of a number of GNs.
Thank so much to those who took the trouble to PM me yesterday, I was touched by your kindness more than you will ever know.
I was feeling very sorry for myself yesterday between my ever painful mouth and a phone call with DD.
Her brother, DS1 continues to refuse to build bridges with her and apologise for his awful behaviour, prior to her postponed wedding last year. It is coming up to her first wedding anniversary and I think it has triggered some unhappy memories. They used to be very close.
Then the doorbell rang.it was my close friend from across the door. She brought such joyful news, her new grandson was born five weeks early after her daughter's waters broke at 6am and baby was born at noon after an emergency C section. I have known her daughter since she was four, when I took her to nursery along with my own DD. I was still doing the school run when they both turned eighteen!!!
I have another friend who is terminally ill and the arrival of this new wee life just made it all the more poignant.
He is so tiny, I'm off out to look for some baby clothes, as there is nothing to fit him.
Unexpectedly my friend's daughter sent me some photos of my friend holding the wee one in hospital with his wee sister. I couldn't believe my friend was allowed in to see her, let alone hold him. I was overwhelmed with emotion. Such joyful news in these difficult times. When I was in hospital in February after my heart attack, DH was not allowed in, it was an awfully lonely and frightening situation to be in.
I was so happy for my friend, as her daughter has had two ectopic pregnancies and nearly lost her life on one occasion.
This good news was followed by a visit from DD and SIL. Poor SIL was banished to the end of the garden by DD, as he had been on a stag do and DD was worried in case there was the slightest chance he had picked up something and would pass it on to me.
They had just left, when DS2 and his fiancée arrived with cakes. His fiancée and I had a lovely chat while DS did a survey of our WiFi weak spots. We are paying an extortionate amount of money for superfast broadband, which doesn't work.
DH now has all the technical information needed , but must gird his loins, before contacting Virginia Media! I think he may be on the phone for some time, ? going by previous dealings!
GM, you are so talented. ? However, I did manage to take in a dress yesterday. I'm quite proud of myself and my modesty. ? For Oops. ?
Wishing you all a pleasant day and thinking of all our missing posters and those who deal with pain and sorrow on a daily basis.
