Good Morning Everyone,
Its looking high grey cloud is the only way to describe it here in Brackley but its dry.
Early breakfast as I want to watch the Mountain biking in the Olympics where we have a possible medal with Tom Pidcock .
also plan to visit the cemetery, and carry out weeding, laying black sheet plus gravel , hoping this will stop weeds between my Dads rose bush and his grave ,and my mothers grave .
Take Care,
Mick

Good Morning Monday
(45 Posts)Good morning from a grey E Kent.
I managed to finish Iris’ little outfit. I hope she likes the ladybird buttons. I have cut out a similar one for DGD1 and shall use green taffeta to line it. I have also made 13 pots of red currant jelly, a family favourite.
Cleaning today and posting DGS’ pj bottoms which were torn by their puppy. He told his mum that I was the only person he knew who would be able to mend them!
Have the best day possible. ??????
Good Morning Mick and all who follow, another dull day weather wise in the Vale of The White Horse.
Spent most of yesterday at DHs mates home with his ACs and many friends dropping in and out, tried to leave several times but were asked to stay, drank so many cups of coffee….. lots of tears and laughter then more tears. But so much love as well.
So many kind neighbours leaving food and shopping supplies without being asked, so many kind people about. It would be lovely if it wasn’t all so awful.
Anyway, my stiff upper lip will be used again today as we have been asked to go up again later.
Hope all who follow have a good day filled with love, joy and despite Covid, hugs.
I wish there was a like button, they are beautiful!
Grandmattie a lovely outfit for Iris, you are very clever.
Morning Mick, morning All. Clear sky over our corner of Somerset.
Been awake since silly o’clock after a bout of cramp. Achieved a bit of a clear out yesterday, we’ll empty the car boot at two charity shops and the tip. Hope to seek coffee at a garden centre and pick up a couple of bags of slate chippings to (finally!) finish future proofing the front garden.
Iris will love that outfit grandmattie, your family are very lucky to have you.
Enjoy what you can of the day everyone, hope Monday is kind to us all.
An emotional time oopsadaisy,
.
Good morning, a grey start in Kent today. I shall be leaving here quite early to go home.
My DD and SIL arrived home about 12.30 yesterday after a couple of days in Oxford with a wedding on Saturday.
DH is off sailing again this afternoon so we will definitely be like ships that pass in the night.
I hope Monday is good day for everyone xx
Good morning from a bright and sunny Torbay with a light breeze.
Yesterday morning at church was really joyful as we were permitted to sing! By the time we started the second hymn, I realised how out of practice my voice was as I couldn’t hit the high notes. ?
We have new neighbours in our apartment block whom I haven’t yet met but they seem to have upset a few residents already over parking issues and by their disparaging comments about the lovely dog, belonging to the young couple on my floor. Everyone here is friendly so I hope they will settle and fit in!
That is a gorgeous outfit for Iris, grandMattie! You and your DH are showing true compassion to your recently bereaved friend, Oopsadaisy. Bless you for your kindness. ? I hope your grave tending goes to plan, Mick.
I hope this is the start of a good week for everyone, free from worries of any kind. ?????
Good morning from north Surrey, grey skies here. We had torrential rain here yesterday and there was some local road flooding but my journey home last night was fine thankfully.
Love the outfit GrandMattie, Iris is lucky to benefit in your talents.
I am finished work until September as the ward is closing for refurbishment. Don’t really want the break but no choice so will get started on a to do list to fill my days.
DH has walking for health this morning, I am hoping my hairdresser will turn up (she has previous).
More paint choices to put up, the ones I have done so far are much too dark.
Not sure what else the day will bring but no doubt I will keep busy.
Wishing all a good day
Good Morning. The weather in Aldebrugh looks similar to yesterday so far so hoping for another good day.?
I think we might go to Southwold today. A wander, fish and chips and hopefully some time on the beach.
I can hear baby Charlie and expect his big brother will be knocking on my door any moment.
Lovely outfit Granmattie as always.
Oopsadaisy1 you must be bringing much comfort to you friend at such a sad time.
Hope everyone find a smile during their day.
Good morning Mick, morning all from South Lanarkshire where it’s a little cloudy again but is due to clear later. Yesterday was another scorcher.
Another beautiful outfit gM, you are so talented.
Your support shows true friendship Oops.
GDG and I are going into town today, we are having our nails done and doing a bit of shopping, I have a couple of birthday presents to buy and she has pocket money burning a hole in her purse.
Wishing everyone a peaceful day.
Morning all from what appears to be a bright start to the day here in West Yorks.Woken by early call from DGS full of excitement as it's his 8th birthday and he wanted to thank us for his pressies.BBQ yest for family, party for friends today then overnight stay in London, these birthdays turn into a full week of celebration.
Grandmattie the outfit is adorable you are so clever I envy your talents.
Must try and get plenty done today as I have DGC tomorrow for full day and again Wed p.m.The eldest DGD (12 going on 15) now finding her own social circle with sleepovers and girly shopping etc. so may receive call to say she has a better offer elsewhere but this is to be expected as part of growing up and this is why we treasure these days even though we now need a day to recover.
Hope the rainfall in south and the fires in the north have baited without causing too much distress for all.
Thinking of those with illness and worry.Take care
Good morning from the Black country, a lot cooler but a sunny start to the day.
Love the outfit granMattie
Ash hope new neighbours settle in its always a worry when the rest all get on fine, know you have said how lovely all your neighbours are.
Don't know what the day will bring will go with the flow. Hopefully our bank will be open need to do some banking, they keep closing ours and sending them to cover for another branch most annoying.
Good luck with the weeds Mick
Enjoy your day and may you all find some ?.
Goodmorning from a slightly cooler , but sunny Glasgow.
DH is golfing and I'm off to buy a papaya for my sore mouth, on the recommendation of a number of GNs.
Thank so much to those who took the trouble to PM me yesterday, I was touched by your kindness more than you will ever know.
I was feeling very sorry for myself yesterday between my ever painful mouth and a phone call with DD.
Her brother, DS1 continues to refuse to build bridges with her and apologise for his awful behaviour, prior to her postponed wedding last year. It is coming up to her first wedding anniversary and I think it has triggered some unhappy memories. They used to be very close.
Then the doorbell rang.it was my close friend from across the door. She brought such joyful news, her new grandson was born five weeks early after her daughter's waters broke at 6am and baby was born at noon after an emergency C section. I have known her daughter since she was four, when I took her to nursery along with my own DD. I was still doing the school run when they both turned eighteen!!!
I have another friend who is terminally ill and the arrival of this new wee life just made it all the more poignant.
He is so tiny, I'm off out to look for some baby clothes, as there is nothing to fit him.
Unexpectedly my friend's daughter sent me some photos of my friend holding the wee one in hospital with his wee sister. I couldn't believe my friend was allowed in to see her, let alone hold him. I was overwhelmed with emotion. Such joyful news in these difficult times. When I was in hospital in February after my heart attack, DH was not allowed in, it was an awfully lonely and frightening situation to be in.
I was so happy for my friend, as her daughter has had two ectopic pregnancies and nearly lost her life on one occasion.
This good news was followed by a visit from DD and SIL. Poor SIL was banished to the end of the garden by DD, as he had been on a stag do and DD was worried in case there was the slightest chance he had picked up something and would pass it on to me.
They had just left, when DS2 and his fiancée arrived with cakes. His fiancée and I had a lovely chat while DS did a survey of our WiFi weak spots. We are paying an extortionate amount of money for superfast broadband, which doesn't work.
DH now has all the technical information needed , but must gird his loins, before contacting Virginia Media! I think he may be on the phone for some time, ? going by previous dealings!
GM, you are so talented. ? However, I did manage to take in a dress yesterday. I'm quite proud of myself and my modesty. ? For Oops. ?
Wishing you all a pleasant day and thinking of all our missing posters and those who deal with pain and sorrow on a daily basis.
Good morning and I’m waving to you Ginny along the coast in Aldeburgh. Have a nice time in Southwold. It’s a quaint seaside town. The pier is interesting and a climb to the top of the lighthouse gives wonderful views. We can see the lighthouse from our garden.
Im Expecting a call, any time, from my old school pal. She’s camping in the south of France. She’s had a rough year. Lost both of her parents (old age) and her brother (70) had a massive stroke. He’s recovering very slowly but she feels she has lost her entire family in such a short time. She has 4 children all living abroad with little hope of seeing them soon. I think she just needs to chat about old times . We met on the first day of school at 5 yrs of age, so I and another pal are like family to her.
Ds1 and family arrive today for a few days. They are unlucky with the weather whenever they come. This week is not looking too good . We had no rain yesterday and it was a lovely day here, but I think it’s on its way ☔️?. We will find plenty to do.
Wishing you all a lovely day whatever life throws at you.?
Good morning from an overcast but dry Colchester.
DS drove a few miles down the A12 yesterday from bone dry to flooding. I had to water the garden yet again despite the storm clouds on the horizon.
Looks like it'll stay dry today so I'll get laundry done and walk to the shops for bits and bobs. Hopefully I'll get a bit more exercise this week now it's not too hot.
Love to all x
Good morning all from a sun/high cloud S Hants. Amazing outfit GM such skill.
Oops compassion from you both in such a tragic situation, you’re valued.
DD so enjoyed her Saturday night out, she looked positively rejuvenated when I dropped the GC’s back yesterday, that and it’s now school holidays.
DH has gone to work, I have gardening today and bathrooms to clean, May have a friend dropping in for coffee.
Enjoy your day all, stay safe x
Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s light grey cloud and some rain in the forecast for later, think that’s the end of our beautiful summer weather!
DH is off to work this morning, he just does a few hours a week keeping the garden tidy at a local pub restaurant and he really enjoys it. I’ll be pottering in the garden, we’ve not got the DGC to look after for a while as DD2 is off work now for 3 weeks so we’ve got lots of time to catch up on all our jobs
Sad times oops I’m sure your support and friendship is helping though.
A beautiful outfit for Iris GM lovely colour too.
That’s a long break off work dwm I’m sure you’ll find things to keep busy though and the time will pass quickly
Hoping everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings ?
Good morning all. We have cloudy skies here but the forecast is for another nice day before it changes tomorrow. Grandmattie that's a lovely outfit. I have never been able to sew anything apart from cross stitch patterns. Ashcombe I hope the neighbours settle in. It's a worry isn't it? You don't know who will move in. The house next door has finally been sold to a couple in their 70s so I'll have new neighbours soon. I expect lots of noise as they'll have to do some work to it. My last neighbour let it go somewhat. Marydoll that sounds like lots of lovely visits to you.
Yesterday was spent in my art tutor's garden wrestling with life drawing. It's not something I'm good at and I wanted to challenge my skills. It certainly did that! I was very disappointed with my lack of ability but I know I need to practise. I hadn't used charcoal before either and got incredibly messy. Suffice it to say, wearing a white teeshirt wasn't my brightest idea! However it was a lovely day and I met some really nice people.
Today it's back to babysitting. In less than a month dgs will start going to the playgroup three mornings a week and this precious time with him will begin to decrease. I'll be both sad and glad! Have a good day all.
Good morning all from sunny Harrogate
Iris will be thrilled with her new outfit, grandMattie
Oops you are so kind giving so much emotional support to your DHs friend
Today will be a nothingness day, spent battening down the hatches in readiness for DGS staying the night tonight. We do have a rogue rose in the garden which has Suddenly shot up about 6ft, Dgs will undoubtedly decide it’s a beanstalk which will need hacking
down. Hopefully he will be too tired for mischief. He’s coming straight from swimming.
Have a great day folks
Morning Mick and all
Grey, muggy and overcast here in S E Essex.
The thunderstorm missed us yesterday, it was around and we could hear thunder, just a few drops of rain.
I am off to lunch with some friends later, no doubt we will chatter non stop ?
GrandMattie beautiful outfit.
Oopsadaisy1 you are doing the best for your friend by just being there.
Keep safe and well folks ?♀️?
Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it looks grey, but feels rather warm. I will water the garden before I go to work.
GrandMattie that outfit is very well made, you are indeed a talent.
I know what you mean about being sad and glad re the little one going to playgroup. Grandmabatty I feel the same about my DGS going to nursery on one of the two days I care for them both, he is a handful and DD is worried it will become a chore if I don’t just have the baby in one of the days!! She is probably right as at the moment it is so lovely to have them but when the baby gets mobile it may not be as easy?
Take care everyone and stay cool and dry. Try to find a smile but if you can’t just try not to cry❤️
Good morning everyone from a very grey Northampton; it's supposed to be warm and sunny!
No plans for today, just pottering indoors and in the garden. I had hoped to be going to yoga this morning, but the friend who usually takes me is off on a business trip to Majorca! Will try to carry on reading as I did last week on holiday; I read two books in 4 days, one of which had nearly 600 pages!
What a lovely outfit GM; Iris is a lucky girl!
Hope we all see some sunshine ? today.
Good Morning and a sunny one here.
It was a pretty quiet weekend here with our family away so it was just coffees and lunch out with a bit of shopping. DH had had a full on week at work so just relaxing was the order of the day. On Saturday we came home mid afternoon to find one of those Post Office cards through the door to say a delivery was on the back doorstep. We were puzzled as we weren’t waiting for anything. It was a really big parcel which on opening was all the legal documents to the property. We still have a little left on our mortgage so weren’t expecting it at all. We presume it is now online. However it made such interesting reading rather like the program that was on TV about the history of a house. Fascinating. I’ll have a good look through today.
How talented you are Grandmattie
oopsadaisy so sorry to hear about the tragic events but you are being a rock for your friends.
Ashcombe I do hope your neighbours calm down sometimes people aren’t aware how there behaviour affects other people. Certainly my neighbours have been quieter
when it was pointed out to them.
Have a good day all.
