Good morning Auntyflo and all x
Farage fails to report 5 million gift!
Good Morning Everyone,
Its looking high grey cloud is the only way to describe it here in Brackley but its dry.
Early breakfast as I want to watch the Mountain biking in the Olympics where we have a possible medal with Tom Pidcock .
also plan to visit the cemetery, and carry out weeding, laying black sheet plus gravel , hoping this will stop weeds between my Dads rose bush and his grave ,and my mothers grave .
Take Care,
Mick
Good morning Auntyflo and all x
Good morning from an overcast NE yet again.
DS and family came for the afternoon and we had a slideshow from their holiday, lots of artistic shots of Oxford architecture.
GD1 uses the photographs as inspiration for her artwork.
GDs are polar opposites, they were telling me about their end of term school outings, youngest had been paddle boarding but she said her legs were too wobbly to stand up. Eldest had been to a theme park and had been on the fastest and scariest rides ever.
By the look on my DS's face he hadn't known about the fairground rides.
After tea and cakes GD2 played her grade 4 piano piece for me, she is doing well despite a year of disruption.
DH has hospital appointment this afternoon, blood check before his chemotherapy on Wednesday.
You all sound very busy, enjoy your day.
Good morning everyone from an overcast start to the day here on the east coast of Fife. It’s going to be 2degrees warmer today than yesterday and it became very warm yesterday afternoon. I’ve had such a wonderful Saturday lots of family friends and neighbours came to our annual bbq all within the guidelines. Must say I had a tear or two in my eyes when my DS arrived all the way from England. Our DD arrived soon afterwards with her two little boys and two frolicking retrievers great fun was had by everyone. I truly suffered from stroke fatigue the next day. Another short visit from our DS is planned today, thankfully I feel up to it my energy levels appear to have somewhat recovered.
Roll on today everyone have a good day and remember to keep rehydrated.
Good morning from Shetland where it is raining. Oh well, we did get blue skies yesterday for our walk up Ronas Hill. It’s the highest point in Shetland at 450 meters above see level but quite steep rising to a rounded dome of Arctic Granite Tundra on which there is a Neolithic Cairn. The granite boulders are home to tiny Arctic plants. It’s wild and always windy at the top but the views on a clear day are spectacular. The whole of Shetland can be seen from here.
I’m not sure what today holds - it depends on the weather improving or not!
Take care everyone and stay safe.?
Good morning. Sunny here in Cheshire.
Late posting and reading as on my own this week and can't sleep at night.
Some happy posts this morning which is lovely.
Still slobbing as only me and the cat to see to this week.
Happy Monday !
Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a brightening South Yorkshire. Neither DH nor I were feeling a hundred percent last night, with stomach upsets, but we ate different things at each meal so it can’t have been that. Our DS came down yesterday afternoon. He had a lot of stuff he wanted to get off his chest and needed someone to listen. I think it helped him - not sure it helped us, but even when your children are grown, who else would they bring their problems to?
We have some pre-holiday bits and pieces to buy this morning so a trip out is required, but apart from that, a quiet day.
Enjoy the start to your week, whatever you are doing, and stay safe.
Good morning from a sunny and still warm Black Country.
Walking for Health walk this morning. Judging by the WhatsApp messages there will be quite a few of us.
Have to leave here at 9am, so I will read all your messages later.
Wishing you all a good day.
Today’s problem is that we have no hot water. Boiler man called and message left so now we wait. Life will be difficult until this has been fixed.
Another warm day is forecast and a supermarket shop is necessary but not until I know about the hot water. I know, a first world problem!
Good morning from a sunny S Welsh coast. I've slept in a bit this morning after a disturbed night, I was really hot again. I will read your posts with a nice cup of tea shortly.
Hope everyone will have a good day, not much going on here except a rendezvous with the washing machine.
Good morning from a slightly drizzly north of Scotland.
Yesterday was beautiful and lots of happy holidaymakers around. I think a lot of folks may be rediscovering the pleasures of holidaying in the UK.
I am supposed to be making curtains today and I think I will watch the Olympics at the same time.
Have the best day you can.
Good morning from sunny south Cornwall. In a mad dash, back here tomorrow! Have a good day, wherever possible.
Good morning all from Cressbroook Hall in the Peak District, bit more overcast than predicted. DH loved his driving experience yesterday, even if the gears on the Austin 7 were very challenging! We are now in a lovely cottage rented by DD, views attached. Will have to rush as DGS is cooking pancakes, have a lovely day everyone, thoughts with those struggling.
Good morning Mick and all Morningsters.
Very grey skies mid Cornwall but a little sun expected later.
A quick whiz through and ?? to see so much love, care, skill and support on the thread. It’s always there but there’s a flamboyant ? abundance of it today.
Not sure how my day will pan out. I did an EConsult last night for the red lump on my eye lid and I’m off to see a new hygienist in a couple of hours. The lump had changed slightly from when I saw the optician a week ago. MrM’s infected bites on his leg are still painful but they only woke him up once. Paracetamol before bed. Weekly nurse appointment tomorrow for him.
No Phil to help with groundwork today. Sick cat at the vets.
I heard so much yesterday of what a disastrous impact self isolation is having on businesses. From not enough staff to fill supermarket shelves to councils cancelling refuse collections.
Thinking of all those with any suffering, mental or physical. May it soon be resolved or ease a little.
? No post from Ali. I’ll check back later this afternoon.
Good morning from a grey and clammy Scottish Borders. Have made a list of admin type stuff to do plus some phone calls. Going to hunt out some house plants. Maybe use M and S or Crocus. Like so many people I have found them to be uplifting over the past months. Plus will keep reading my books. Really enjoying the latest Catherine Fox novel. Sending my best wishes to all and my thoughts are with those in a difficult place.
Good morning from overcast Sefton.
Beautiful clothes grandMattie with the special touch of ladybird buttons. You’re sooo talented.
My washing machine is kaput so I must deal with that ASAP.
Have the best day possible everyone.
Good morning Mick and all his followers. It’s cloudy in Suffolk this morning. We had one thunderstorm yesterday and some heavy rain but it didn’t last long enough to do the garden any good.
I read this morning that these Olympics are the first since the IOC sold the TV rights and that’s why many sports will not be covered on the BBC. So many sports have suffered from this, including DH’s beloved British Lions! We already pay for BT sport but so much is on other channels.
Off to the supermarket today! My 10 day self isolation is finished and we have “Christmas “ at the weekend, so I need to start. I am making crackers and need to find gifts for the male side of the family.
Lovely lunch yesterday with some old friends who talked non stop. Only regret is not cooking both pieces of salmon - one was enough but two would have given leftovers! ? I always cook too much so that nobody goes hungry and this time I held back.
I hope the day is kind to everyone.
Morning from the train to Giffnock via Glasgow. after a wonderful week at the seaside with my two youngest grandchildren I was a bit tired so my DD who had joined us for the last couple of days insisted on driving me for the last stretch home. It seemed like a good idea at the time but of course has meant the two train journey today, not to mention a twentyfive minute uphill march to the station!
grandMattie, another lovely outfit for Iris.
Such very sad news Oopsadaisy, it’s really good you are such a support to your friend.
I’m nearly at my destination now, first train jouney for such a long time, it’s been fine, travelling at this time there are no crowds.
Wishing everyone a good day??
Good morning all from grey cloudy Lancashire. Grandmattie that outfit is beautiful! I wish I had one similar in this warm weather.
Hope everyone has the best day possible.
Good morning, Mick and everyone from grey Carlisle where it is trying to brighten up. I've put the washing out in hope though I would really prefer a good downpour to soften my garden soil and release me from lawn watering.
It's housework and laundry morning, not day as I generally ban housework in the afternoon, that's gardening and reading etc time.
You are having a great holiday, Gelisajams. I've toured Shetland myself and love the place. I even considered moving there but the weather was the main deciding factor in not even though we'd had superb weather for our visit. Cumbria can be challenging enough in the winter.
So many of you out and about now. I must get me and the car out for some day trips myself. The car is looking forlorn and dusty on the drive. It's suffering from being next to a building site and the clouds of dust that drift down from it in this dry weather.
Have the best possible day everybody .
Hello all from the Scottish Borders -weather = sultry,
Today's excitement. We have just had an earthquake.
I thought after all the things that have happened, there couldn't be anymore but apparently it was 2.5 on the R scale and 5km below me.
The gas men were here to repair the boiler and had just left so at first I thought it was a gas explosion but everyone in town has been reporting it.
I had been in the garden distributing my nettle manure and now I cannot get the stink off my hands. sorry for too much info
I love the outfit gMattie such a clever grandma.
I love the old car too and the retrievers .
Best wishes to oopsa and to all who are feeling low.
