We should be going on our first cruise tomorrow (round the British Isles) but we have cancelled as our friends who we were going with tested positive two weeks ago. We will now have to plan another one as we have cruise credits as opposed to a refund.

We have The Imp today, so will see how the day pans out. The two of us are going out to our favourite Indian Restaurant tonight, yummy!!!

Good morning Mick, morning all from dull and wet South Lanarkshire.

Yesterday’s visit to the museum wasn’t quite as relaxing as I’d hoped, it was so busy. There seem to be a lot more tourists now, which is great as Edinburgh was a sad, lonely looking place for such a long time, but I’ve obviously got used to the quieter feel of the city on my weekly visits.

I’m not sure what today will bring, I’ll have to think of somewhere to take my sister but the weather is dampening my enthusiasm.

Thinking of you and your DH gM, that must have been frightening.

You really have had a hard week grandMattie, I hope and am sure your husbands medication will get him back on track and you will get your much looked forward to visit to your GDs and family.

Have managed to get a telephone app with a GP this morning, they’re like gold dust in this practice, so will sign off now so I don’t miss it like Wednesday when the line went dead and that was the end of that.
I believe one of the reasons for our local hospital’s A&E being swamped is the number of people from our town having to resort to going there because of the difficulties we are experiencing.

My early morning appointment was cancelled as was DHs golf so we have an unexpected free day.
DH though will have to pop to his Mums to sort out her electric chair which she says is ‘broken’.
Otherwise we’ll see how things go.
By the way the chair is a riser, not what you might have been thinking .

Good morning from a grey and wet NE.
Family visited yesterday afternoon and we heard what the GDs had been up to, most enthusiastic chatter was about clothes shopping, the eldest is 16 next month so par for the course.
Eldest GD has got a new art desk and the conservatory is set up as a studio, art has always been her thing.
Younger GD brought her music and played the piano for us, such a happy eleven year old.

Good morning everyone from a wet Northampton, but as I write the sun has just appeared from behind a cloud.

Had a good evening walk yesterday, completed just in time as it began to rain heavily as we approached the pub. My friend and I had a lovely meal and I enjoyed a glass of white wine.

No plans for today apart from the usual tidying up and just pottering; will read more of my book, and hope to start sewing up the sweater I have just knitted. Then I can pick up the stitches and complete the V neck.

Oh dear grandMattie, I do hope your DH makes a good recovery; what a shock you must have had.

Good morning everyone from what’s been a real early downpour from the east coast of Fife and I believe we’ve to get drizzle all day maybe even all week.

It’s also pretty dull beyond these curtains me thinks the weathers become pre autumnal. Yesterday was a very good day for me both in body and in mind but for the fact my DDs dogs have what’s called kennel cough fingers crossed they recover very quickly it’s not very nice for anyone to witness this nor is it very comfortable for the poor dogs. My DD is a very caring person and I’m sure she’ll do her best for them.

I’ve a lazy day today I’ve booked a date this afternoon with my carer for us both to watch a Bridget Jones film I find them soooo very funny. I actually laugh out loud.

Sadly I’m a tv addict and it’s fun watching the olympics I have the remote in my hand all day. I’m trawling through the second series of Downtown Abbey I just love it but I’m glad these days have gone especially for the poor downstairs lot who worked very long hours for a pittance.

Good morning from a damp Welsh coast, heavy rain overnight. We arrived home yesterday from a short break in Oxford and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We stayed in a lovely hotel in Eastgate near Merton College where our friends' son graduated in maths. It was lovely walking around the beautiful buildings many of which were illuminated at night. The highlight was a tour of Christ College and cathedral, later we had coffee outside the Sheldonian. The weather was very good so we were lucky and we went by train so no driving for Mr Lins. We only encountered rain at Swindon on the way home. The trip was a spur of the moment decision as I have some medical things coming up, stating this afternoon. We last visited Oxford 42 years ago.
One of ours and partner are driving up to Edinburgh today to stay in the Fingal, a floating hotel. Hope the weather isn't too bad for them and for all who have long journeys today.
Must get on, butcher to ring and lots to do.

Grey, wet and very windy this morning but as we have no plans it doesn’t particularly matter. DH is having a slow start after a disturbed night, not a luxury afforded to me, but I will do my best to be patient and pleasant.

Good to hear of visitors and trips out; it does start to feel that life is opening up a bit, and I am impressed by how adventurous some posters are. Thoughts are with GM and pleased to have Marydoll back with us. Think any flamingoes will be blown away but will keep looking.

You've had a rotten week Grandmattie. I hope they can get to the bottom of your dh's I'll health. Happy birthday to Scentia. Have a lovely day. Marydoll I am frequently bitten and only discover the bites in the middle of the night when they start itching so I sympathise.
Yesterday I had an up and down day. There is a family in the street who allow their five boys and assorted friends to run wild. One of the other neighbours was telling me that they have been going up everyone's garden and peering through the letterbox and she had seen them congregating on my drive round my car. I knew they had been in the garden as I had to pick up some of their toys and threw them back into their garden. They've been knocking on doors and running away too which is unfair as there are many elderly people living here. It's very worrying as the worst(and youngest ) isnt four yet and they are all under ten. I shan't say anything until I actually catch them but it's taken the shine off my wee bungalow. Hopefully the nonsense will recede as they are back to school in two weeks.
Today holds an unexpected pleasure. I'm going for lunch to a local pub with two friends who I usually WhatsApp chat to. I can walk there in five minutes so it'll be an easy journey, barring thunder! Have a good day all.

Good morning Mick (with date?) and all from Rainy Roofs, Lancashire coast. Hope you enjoy your first coach trip.
Off to offload extras at charity shop and go to the library for study. Easier to study there than at home.
Set off for North Wales yesterday only to find it’s another Tuesday in the month. This getting mixed up is becoming a bother, although I have always been a bookworm and absent minded. “You’d forget your head if it wasn’t stuck on” Mum used to say. So I took myself off to West Kirby on the Wirral peninsular (or “Insular Peninsular” as a friend who lived there called it) and had a lovely day, walking along the sea front looking across to Wales, where I thought I was going earlier?,
and pottering around the shops. I even had coffee in the unexpected sun outside the pretty Victorian station.
Thoughts to harrigran and Grandmattie, back to read properly later.

Good morning Mick and all from a dull Anglesey. A night of rain for my thirsty plants was much appreciated, I’ll have the sunshine back now please.
I’ve had my own little adventure over the last ten days.
I was blue lighted with all bells ringing following excruciating pain in my head. A nasty unmentionable was cut away and I spent a few days being looked after by angels here on earth.
My Leicester family arrived en masse, apparently to look after Orlin who is more capable than all of them put together. I suspect they thought I was on my way out.
They and local family hung around to ‘look after us both’ after my return home. Twenty four hours in and I sent all the adults packing. The girls stayed and we amused ourselves with board games, chats and a few enjoyable musical evenings, one pianist, some lovely voices and Orlin on guitar. We spent a couple of evenings on the beach after the holidaymakers had departed to enjoy their barbecues.
The catering was challenging with one vegetarian, one pescatarian and two fuss pots but we managed.
They all departed on Wednesday and we managed to wash, dry, press and return all bedding to the beds.
Stitches out later today, hopefully can wash my hair tomorrow.
Quiet adult house now back together and I shall enjoy some rest. I’m sure my very quick recovery can be attributed to my lovely caring family but mostly to the practical and matter of fact grandchildren who didn’t fuss and carried on much as usual. No invalids here. Nothing to see.
I’m sorry I missed your birthday Grandmafrench and Scentia, very happy birthday to you both ?.
Marydoll, I just wish I could wrap you in a great big hug. Such a brave trooper. I sincerely hope the medication shortages can be sorted out for you. Anyone who has been unkind to you can only be pitied for their lack of humanity. How lovely it was to see so many of the silent ‘readers who don’t post’, come to your aid yesterday. Proving that there are even more lovely people out there.
Sending lots of positive vibes and well wishes for all with worries and pain, those caring for others and those missing their loved ones both home and away.
Please keep a look out for those random flamingos ?, there is one for each of us I promise.

Good Morning everyone from very warm and at present, sunny-off-and-on Southern France.

Life returning to normal slowly in the House of The Limping Two! (Sounds like we could be ?‍☠️ Pirates! DH is being very good, no threatening has been involved. I have done everything necessary in the house without causing myself any pain, so we’re now hoping for an early return to normal.

Know how you feel, Amsel. I’ve been there, in the stream, in the lake, in the mud and splattered and running out of energy. You’ll have a different but equally happy life if you press on with your new plans now. Good that you feel able to make the big decision. Good luck with it all.

Crikey! They could have been taking part in a D of Edinburgh Award Scheme, Ash. Easy to see how things in nature and in sudden bad weather could get out of hand! You should be more organised with timing - like Blue Sapphire - a downpour just as the expedition ends near the Pub’. ?

Still - an interview with The Wizard of Oz* might be easier. Well done you for hanging in there….that’s no service is it! I’m visiting my Doctor this afternoon, where she’ll make me feel positive (she always does), and welcome, and she’ll give me back my key on which we recorded Downton Abbey for her to watch. Like Elizabeth and countless others, she’s a huge fan.

Sounds like an hilarious family knees up will take place at Gingster Gables. Ignore the rain, keep calm and carry on, Gingster. At least the dogs will LOVE it.
