Good Morning Everyone,
Its a grey and wet start here in brackley , which see me having a quiet day in .
Yesterday coach trip to Windsor was OK only 12 in the mini coach altogether,
The day went well , not as busy as usual ,as things start to pick up again ,we had 5 hours there, so had plenty of walking around the town.
Take Care,
Mick

Got a small lump in my throat for you GG - it must be such a red letter day. Enjoy your time together as a family at last. ?

GrannyGravy13 Sun 08-Aug-21 12:51:33

Afternoon Mick and all

Been busy here so far, full English and now I am preparing a run of beef for this evening.

Very happy that eldest AC got through all the red tape at border control Heathrow which allowed them to quarantine here as opposed to one of the quarantine hotels!

They have had the most wonderful two years in Kenyan, now ready for two years in London, what a contrast!!!

Will read all your posts when I sit down later.

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️?❤️

Good morning,

It's a wet, heavy showery start to the day and quite breezy here in South Yorkshire. Our plans for a run out somewhere have been thwarted as it's not much fun getting drenched. There's a brief break in the rain now so must nip out and water the tomatoes in the mini greenhouse so they don't dry out.

Will come back and read the posts later.

Take care.

Good morning all, yet another drizzly grey day here in Lancashire. Good to hear things are improving for many people, I hope you have a lovely visit with Dollie Marydoll. Not much planned for today, except more sorting, disposal and tidying of the contents of my workroom. This could be a long job grin

Happy Sunday to all, may we all find some comfort and happiness today ?

Gwenisgreat1 Sun 08-Aug-21 10:23:23

Good Morning all from dull Harrogate
It's a long time since I've been in Windsor, Mick, think it was only once, when we lived in Wokingham and that was over 40 years ago.
You watching your Chinese films Marydoll reminds me of the time when I lived in South Kensington, I took an evening job as an usherette in a Cinema that showed weird films. I worked with a french girl, so we decided I would speak french to her and she English to me and we corrected one another - it was a good team! The cinema also showed French films where I picked up a few phrases, but not conversational French, if you know what I mean!. I also learned a bit of Urdu!!
You haven't wasted any time with your patchwork, GrandMattie!
Lovely photo Marydoll
Hope you feel better soon Beechnut
I hope you all have a good day, full of wine and flamingos!

Keeping the weather on a low light for you, B9

Don’t try too hard, holly, mojos can be timid things. Best sit in a comfy chair and wait patiently for yours to turn up. (Well, you don’t need to be standing around waiting, do you.)

Fingers crossed firmly NannaG ?
You’ve made me laugh out loud, Grandmajean - and your poor DH has clearly never visited Brighton !! ?

Grandmajean Sun 08-Aug-21 09:38:40

Those are lovelyGinny
Wish I could show a pic of my granddaughter yesterday ! She must have got out of bed and thought "What would a drunk , crazy , homeless princess wear?" The resulting outfit was a party dress, floral wellies and a big blue flower in her hair. DH was reluctant to take her round to the village but I assured him times had changed and nobody would turn a hair. Think you have to be 6 years old to get away with it !

Good morning Mick and all from Windy Way, Lancashire coast.
I hope you enjoyed your trip to Windsor, my daughter lives there and is driving up today. Last time I stayed with her, we had a long walk in Windsor great park, lovely but tiring.
Yesterday was a write off, couldn’t motivate myself, so need to crack on today. Strange how a mood can settle and bring inertia, Well to me anyway, grans on here always seem to be on the go and good for them.
Thinking of those with worries and health problems.

Nannagarra Sun 08-Aug-21 09:19:16

Congratulations Lins.

Good morning from soggy, windy Sefton by the sea.
General pottering is likely until we meet DS to go for a walk.
The two days we were to have DGD all to ourselves next week have been cancelled. She has been in contact with someone who tested positive, so is now in isolation. Fortunately she’s well and my fingers are crossed that the other little one is.
There’s plenty of uplifting news on this thread accompanied by eye-catching photos. ❤️ it.
Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning all from a very wet and chilly SW Herts. GGFrench we are so hoping to share your weather in four weeks!

Church this morning, Grandmattie I am appalled that church folk could be hostile, everyone at ours is so delighted to be able to meet in person. Now we can sing our hearts out, but I am so out of practice there are a lot of croaks coming out!

There is a Farmers Market afterwards, but I don't fancy it in this rain. DH usually buys something for lunch there, so I will have to raid the freezer instead.

Have a dry day everyone if you can, even flamingos don't like rain grin

ginny Sun 08-Aug-21 08:52:24

To brighten a dull day. Second attempt.

ginny Sun 08-Aug-21 08:50:55

To brighten a dull day.

Good morning from a windy S Welsh coast, very windy yesterday too but not much rain thank goodness. I took it easy and intend to do the same today.
Thank you for your good wishes Ash and Jax.
Hope you see Dollie today Marydoll, she will love the book. I hope you will feel better soon and your appetite picks up. Enjoy your Chinese dramas, I watched some of the Nordic Murders series with English subtitles yesterday.
An easy Mary Berry chicken breasts recipe for later.
Enjoy your Sunday everyone.

Good morning from a grey NE.
We had a quiet day yesterday, sister and BIL stayed an hour and left us with newspapers so I can occupy myself with the crosswords.
DD sent me a link to a television programme which turned out to be in Japan, it was her friend who is a professor in a university there, of course I couldn't understand a word she was saying but lovely to see her in a successful career.
DH managed three small meals yesterday, he celebrated with a tiny drop of champagne ?.
Thank you for suggestions to help with weight gain.
My patio pots are looking bedraggled, the rain is too heavy for the delicate flowers but the geraniums remain a blaze of colour.
Enjoy your Sunday.

Grandmafrench Sun 08-Aug-21 08:26:09

Good Morning everyone from the warm (forecast in the 30’s as far ahead as we can see) Mediterranean coast! ?
What’s with all this grey, dampness then? It’s August!

Mattie you seem to have captured the prize so far this morning for some bright weather……and what pretty laundry on the line! Actually a nice way to decorate a corner of the garden. We’ll look forward to more Mattie Masterpieces - so clever the way you focus and bring those works of art together. Hope there’s calm in your day today.

And trust the trip was of benefit to you, Mick. Nice to have a change of scene. Enjoy some lovely family madness, Gingster - with lots to recall and laugh about during the winter months. Glad you arrived home without incident, Ash. Those West Country roads can be a real trial in any tourist year, but I bet with fewer people travelling abroad this year, they’ve been more of a trial. My favourite trips never involve heavy traffic, delays, queues (esp., motorway services!) or diversions - a friend’s car was completely written off by a blundering wild boar last year. In that case, I’d have preferred the traffic! My own best boar experience was travelling down a country ‘lane’ in the small hours of a summer’s night and having to stop for a group of tiny ‘piggy children’ who were frolicking and jumping over a ditch and each other in the moonlight. So pretty. No sign of a Mum but we made sure we left smartly, just in case she suddenly appeared.
Hope you’re at least in the discussion stages of cross-Channel negotiations with *olddudders by now! Lots to look forward to!

Sorry you’re not feeling your best, Beech. Take it easy and we hope today for an improvement. Catch up on sleep, if you can muse - or put a comfortable chair outside and have a mainly feet up day - you and MrM - before another busy week gets underway. Cornish and other batteries must be charged??. Sounds like the wedding was good, grey and battening down the hatches with all that delicious home-grown food sounds just the ticket, corner, indulge yourselves!

I’m off to the garden for breakfast and a (small) warm croissant. Come off it….IS there such a thing as a ‘small’ croissant, Grandmafrench? All GMers will see through this large fib immediately! ? But good try if it makes you feel virtuous….

Have yourselves a wonderful day, everyone, and if not a whole day just one small something to lift the spirits. Wine & Flamingoes sounds like a plan - I shall look forward to some flying upside down or backwards over my garden for confirmation that the plan is working.

Thinking of you all - especially if you’re sad or poorly. Extra hugs to all in need and warm wishes from France ??

Ooh Marydoll, tomorrow I'll post a pic of mine too in that case! smile

Grandmabatty Sun 08-Aug-21 08:23:00

Good morning all. Grey and overcast generally in Polmont this morning. Lovely quilting grandmattie. *Lins I missed your news. Congratulations. Sar happy birthday to your daughter.
This morning I have dd, dgs and my aunt visiting. My aunt, who is younger than me, has been away in the caravan for over a month. I look forward to hearing about her and my uncle's holiday. They are intrepid travellers and have a holiday to Antarctica arranged for next year. I've made a lemon drizzle cake and we'll have it with coffee. I might make biscuits soon too. I'm having homemade meatballs with spaghetti for tea. Have a good day all.
