Is it just me, or have you noticed that it’s a bit quiet around here of late?
Have we run out of stuff to talk about?
Feel free to talk about anything here…

User7777 Mon 09-Aug-21 13:05:44

Yep its quiet, no Brexit or EU to trash out anymore. Even the pandemic has all but disappeared

FannyCornforth Mon 09-Aug-21 13:13:17

Thank you for replying User!
So at least there’s two of us here…
Of course there’s climate change, but that’s just too depressing to even contemplate

Shinamae Mon 09-Aug-21 13:15:38

Okay Fanny…. Will start a thread when I get home from work

FannyCornforth Mon 09-Aug-21 13:17:20

Hi Shinamae
I’m going to nip over to Mumsnet to see what they are talking about, see if I can get any ideas

GillT57 Mon 09-Aug-21 13:19:22

I was thinking the same. Maybe everyone but us is on holiday?

FannyCornforth Mon 09-Aug-21 13:22:39

Hello Gill!
Over on Mumsnet they are talking about pillows; puppies; Celebrity Masterchef; boys wearing nail polish; problems with neighbours fence; Love Island ?

FannyCornforth Mon 09-Aug-21 13:23:28

Are you going anywhere nice this summer Gill?

Calendargirl Mon 09-Aug-21 13:26:58

I always look down the Active thread first thing in the morning, and apart from ‘The Games’(aargh), so often it seems to be the same old, same old.

At the risk of sounding a miserable so and so, there often seems little of interest.

Come on, H&M, do something controversial and give us something to fall out about!

Alegrias1 Mon 09-Aug-21 13:29:06

Oh I don't know....I've ranted at a couple of people today and reported someone for a personal attack.

Business as usual I think grin

We’re all out doing stuff. Well I’m not, obviously, but I’m just waiting for Mr. B to get back from his wellness check. The sun is shining so I’m going for a walk, I’m expecting a parcel which is why I’m waiting for him to get back smile

I don’t really feel like starting any threads as I’m feeling a bit picked on in some quarters lately. I’m sure it’s just in my imagination but it feels real and I’m not up to dealing with it just now. Love your threads though FannyC so am happy to join in on them.

JaneJudge Mon 09-Aug-21 13:30:52

I was going to start a thread today and then felt I sounded ridiculous so deleted it blush grin

Kandinsky Mon 09-Aug-21 13:35:23

It’s always pretty quiet on here tbh, but especially so atm, lots of people away maybe?

Jaxjacky Mon 09-Aug-21 13:42:41

It wasn’t quiet in soop’s kitchen last night!

Jaxjacky Mon 09-Aug-21 13:44:51

I just counted six new threads today, so not that quiet.

GillT57 Mon 09-Aug-21 13:59:49

Nothing decided yet fannyC, just toying with the idea of a few days in North Norfolk, but then saw a lovely hotel in Majorca, really quiet, on the beach....... Two of my favourite places.

How about you?

M0nica Mon 09-Aug-21 14:02:14

The range of subjects has got very narrow. I enjoy a good controversial political or ethical argument, but only when surrounded by lots lighter, and leaa contentious subjects, and those have been sadly lacking recently

Perhaps it is lockdown fatigue.

Redhead56 Mon 09-Aug-21 14:09:18

I think some of the threads can get quite heated and personal remarks are often made. It could be the reason why a lot of people don’t post. I have noticed the absence of a few members and wondered why they have not posted lately.
There are some really helpful people on this forum and some very interesting threads. It’s been my saviour especially during lockdown not seeing family and friends. I wonder how many marriages it’s saved!

kircubbin2000 Mon 09-Aug-21 14:09:28

Mumsnet seems to have more interesting topics.

JaneJudge Mon 09-Aug-21 14:22:19

I thought the people who were desperate to go on holiday might have gone on holiday smile

Ooh, did you rant at me??

As long as you didn't report me, carry on!

If only I could remember my password.....

FannyCornforth Mon 09-Aug-21 14:28:30

Alegrias ooh, sounds interesting. Where are you ranting?

timetogo2016 Mon 09-Aug-21 14:34:18

Yes i too was thinking how quiet it is FannyCornforth.
Holidays maybe?.
Or are some gransnetters going out now were free again.

Alegrias1 Mon 09-Aug-21 14:34:55

Mainly about climate change Fanny smile

I don't think it was you Callistemon, I don't think you have ever been as rude as the person I reported. But when I'm on a roll, anybody is fair game ?
