Good Morning Everyone,
Its dry but with grey cloud here at the moment in brackley this morning.
Todays plans are first housework , and later I will get the bus to Bicester for my usual hour there ,and return to watch cycling hopefully on Eurosport this afternoon , as the sport gets back to a normal programme of events.

Good Morning Tuesday 10th August 2021
(60 Posts)Good morning from a bright E Kent. We are promised wall-to-wall sunshine today! Makes a nice change from those grey skies (no rain, we are the Sahara of the British isles!)
Washing machine man is coming today, between 0700 and 1800! At least, the machine should work again"
DH had a lovely day, all three offspring Skyped him as did the girls who are staying with their other grandparents, bless them!
Heard that our new sofas will be arriving next week, so we must contact the charity shop for collection of our old ones - they are tired not worn out.
Tai chi this morning (where is Taichinan ?) and possibly supermarket if we have a time for the mechanic.
Have the best day possible under the circs, with lots of ????, ???as well
Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset looks brighter this morning, grey and dismal yesterday.
Car collected its back to the usual ‘stuff’, mostly dealing with life’s irritations. Not sure how that will go as I’m not in top form, fairly irritable and no doubt irritating.
It sounds as if your husbands birthday was just right for him grandMattie, good news about your sofas too.
Somehow I don’t manage to get back to catch up with everyone’s news, my apologies.
Hope Tuesday is kind to us all, take care everyone.
Morning Mick and All.
Grey turning to sunshine here in South Bucks.
DS and 2 DGSs arrived last night for 5 days. Usual noise, chaos and fun. 10 year old off to Footie training this morning, 8 year old elected to stay with us and get DH to take him to the toy shop with the holiday money we gave him. No doubt he will buy some Lego.
Must get the breakie started. It’s all go.
Good morning from Shropshire where the sun is shining.
We have been away for a few days to Ceredigion with DD1 and family. No wifi so I am out of touch with everybody’s news.
Today will be the usual post holiday lawn mowing and laundry mountain.
Have the best day you can everyone??
Good morning to you all on a beautiful sunny one in Torbay.
My first thought today was for your friend's premature baby, Marydoll. I’m glad that the surgery was performed and there was a successful outcome. One feels so helpless in these situations.
I bet you all enjoyed the steam train ride, monk08! As a child, I remember being intrigued by the name Devil's Bridge, probably because one didn’t mention the word devil at home! My eldest grandchild was born in 2008, too, Sar53, but in Australia; he started high school last January. What happy news for your family, Grandmadinosaur, with the forthcoming birth of a DGD!
I was sorry the news was of a positive test result, Scentia for your DSiL, with the implications for you all. Such a pity he is unwell after your lovely time away together and I hope he recovers well. It’s going to be a case of just sitting out the quarantine period but I know what you mean about wanting to fix things. I hope your DH continues to show more of an appetite for the tempting dishes you provide, harrigran.
I hope the rat problem is soon sorted out, Georgesgran; horrid creatures! What an eventful week you had, madeleine so I’m sure a more restful one is welcome! A busy time for you, NanKate! Lovely! Welcome back, Susan56!
Many of you have kindly enquired about DH, olddudders, visiting and I had hoped to announce an imminent arrival. He’d fully intended to travel over this Friday but he has a recurrence of a back problem, originally caused a few years ago by trying to push a recalcitrant donkey back into its paddock! We sometimes think that the fates are laughing at us. He hopes to travel on the following Friday (20th) so will have to tie in the required blood test with the booking along with one here on Day 2, which I’m hoping to arrange when I have confirmation of his travel plans.
I hope you find some sunshine in your lives today. ☀️⛅️? My heart is certainly lighter…. ?
Good morning all. Grey skies here in Polmont and it's been much cooler in the night as I have condensation on the windows. 11° at the moment. NanKate it sounds like you are having a lovely family time. Cornergran ? and if they don't help, ?. Grandmattie good news about the washing machine man .
Yesterday was an in and out day, trying to avoid very heavy showers. We managed to make the swings between downpours and there was lots of arranging cars done. The boy wonder likes to put his transport in straight lines on the garden table. When I took him home, dd gave me a piece of pecan pie she had made. It was lovely.
Today will be the visit to the fish man then possibly the park if the weather holds. In a couple of weeks he will go to the playgroup for two hours in the morning so I'll have an empty as Marydoll would say! Second coffee awaits. Have a good day all.
Ashcombe that would be lovely for you if he can get here. Fingers crossed for you.
Good morning Mick, morning all from South Lanarkshire where the sky is looking much brighter.
We had a lovely afternoon yesterday having a birthday tea in DD’s garden. It was actually hot and sunny after the morning downpour.
Today will be spent pottering, my sister and I will walk down to the park I think, and have a wander around the shops.
Wishing everyone a peaceful day whatever it brings. ???
Good morning Mick and all, it's only 8°C, rather cool here.
Thank you all for your prayers yesterday, wee baby A's surgery was successful yesterday afternoon. There were a lot tears she'd in this cul de sac last night. His mum previously had two ectopic pregnancies and thought she would never have another baby. ?
My cup of joy is overflowing, we are looking after Dollie today, for the first time in eighteen months, DS1 messaged out of the blue yesterday and asked if we could look after her this morning. Despite a modicum of thawing on his part, we never anticipated this. Mr MDoll is beside himself with excitement. Apparently Dollie has already written a lists of our duties! ?
In case you didn't see them yesterday, Alizerin, here are some photos of the fruit twigs, not a disappointment at all. I hope you can make them out, everything has been crammed at the bottom of the garden, until the new decking is completed. We are still missing some glass, I fear it will never be completed.
Wishing everyone a pleasant day and thinking of all those with pain and worry.
Kate, gird those loins!
Good morning from a dry and very still NE.
Up early to put charity bags at the end of the drive, all the toys the GC have outgrown during lockdown.
DD has done an Aldi shop for me and will visit this afternoon.
Housework this morning, a bedroom to tidy where I got the toys from. I will change the life size baby doll one last time and pack her away with all her clothes and blankets. There was absolutely no way I was giving her away, she will go with the Silver Cross pram in the attic.
Have a good day.
Good morning from a cloudy but increasingly brighter Black Country.
We arrived home yesterday lunchtime from our trip to Somerset. Would have stayed longer, but British Heart Foundation is coming today to collect our sofa and chair in readiness for our Karndean flooring being laid Thursday and our new sofa and chair next week.
It is DD's and SIL's 19th wedding anniversary today! It doesn't seem possible! It only seems not long ago that she was off to University. They are going away overnight, so I have the girls today and tomorrow at their house, as we will have no furniture to sit on! Taking them out to lunch today. I have a day out treat planned for tomorrow.
Enjoy your time with the boys NanKate they grow so quickly, my eldest is 17 and the next will be 13 next week!
Fingers crossed that your DH will be with you very soon Ashcombe
Have a lovely day everyone.
Ash, I’m so happy for the two of you. Keeping everything crossed.
Marydol, both pieces of news are fantastic. I hope you andMrMD are suitably organised and bossed around! ?
Good morning from a dry Morecambe Bay so I’m off to Keswick gardening. One thing or another has stopped me going for some time.
Great news from Marydoll and Ash this morning. I’ll catch up more tonight. Take care and stay safe everyone ?
Good morning Mick and all his followers. You sound like life is back to normal Mick!
It’s a lovely morning in Suffolk, more washing I think. I finished all the ironing yesterday.
So glad that you are making plans for OldDidders to visit Ash. A couple of weeks will soon pass.
We are busy preparing for three sets of staying visitors between Friday and Monday, the last couple staying 3 days. Today we have DGC for 24hours from lunchtime. Tomorrow the decorator arrives, to do outside (first) and then the hall, landing and stairs. How did life get this confusing? ?
Best wishes to your family and ?your SiL has kept it to himself scentia.
I hope the day is kind to everyone.
Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it looks like a nice day.
No Nanna duties today as everyone is isolating. DH and I will still go to work as our factory is just the two of us and we see no one all day. DD is taking this 10 day opportunity to potty train DGS so I have ordered some Paw Patrol pants to be delivered today!!
DFiL ashes were delivered yesterday so we will spend this evening placing them in the pot we have in the garden.
I was so pleased to hear the little baby had come out of the operation unscathed. I always love some happy news to wake up to.
Take care everyone and stay safe❤️
Lovely news Marydoll!
Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s cloudy but a dry warmish day is forecast
Lovely news marydoll enjoy your time with Dollie!
I’m keeping everything crossed for you and olddudders Ash
Nothing planned here today, DH is off to work and I’m be pottering in the garden. Yesterday I had a lovely but busy day and we spent a really enjoyable evening at DD2 house playing games with the DGC well into the evening. Lots of laughter all round
Hoping everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings ?
Good morning from a brightening Colchester. Warm and dry today.
Tuesday is charity shop day.
DH has promised to start some preparation for decorating. We need to do the whole house and are starting with the kitchen diner. I'm sure to come home to mess. We've decided to DIY as tradesmen are impossible to find.
Love to all x
Good news Marydoll.
Good morning all. Looks ok in our little bit if Cheshire. DH golfing again and he's usually lucky with the weather.
Hope you are soon reunited with Olddudders Ashcombe
Have a lovely day with your little granddaughter ?Marydoll I think she is about the same age as my youngest one.( 6 ) Enjoy your family nanKate
More posts to read later.
My longish post has disappeared . Grrr ?
A summary is. The family weekend is over. Phew!
Hectic and stressful at times with 14 people and 3 dogs (one a six month pup, who my pooch DID NOT LIKE!
Dh quite grumpy most of the time.
Weather diabolical.
Having said all that it was lovely to see the family altogether and the children were an absolute delight. Lots of laughs and fun too.
We won’t be doing it again. A day visit is fine but not a long weekend. Too much for us! ?.
Our next visitors arrive on Thursday . Just my two brothers for a couple of days. It will be a doddle in comparison. ?
Nannytopsy you have a busy time ahead. Hope all goes well. ?
Ashcombe fingers crossed for Olddudders coming over. ?
Scentia hope you and your family don’t catch it from SIL. ?.
Wishing you all a restful, happy day ?
Good morning all.
Some blue sky showing here in N. Bucks at the moment.
Today I am off to Waddesdon Manor with a friend. We are attending the 101 birthday celebrations for the WI. 100 years was postponed from last year for obvious reasons.
Such a mix of good and bad news this morning , my thoughts are with all.
Hope you can all find a smile within your day.
Good morning all from a slightly foggy S Hants, we should get sun when it lifts.
Good news on two fronts Marydoll and for you too, hopefully Ashcombe ??. Hoping you regain some of your form cornergran and today does not compound irritations.
A normal Monday of housework and some admin passed, today I have my first drive having expanded my voluntary work, I need to go to the library too, then I’ll be out in the garden.
After inheriting money last year from my Mum, I achieved a long held ambition to fund a defibrillator in our village, it was installed and registered yesterday, Mum and Dad would have been pleased.
Have a lovely day all, with lots of ? and ? in your lives x
I don’t know why my photos come out sideways?
