….shamelessly cribbed from MN, and also inspired by the ‘Isn’t it quiet?’ thread.

Whether you’re still hoping for more proper summer weather (like me) but still like autumn, or you hate any temp over 20 deg, and can’t wait for wrapped-up walks among fallen leaves, or you dread the nights drawing in, and hate everything about autumn and winter, please feel free!

I’ll start - season of mists and mellow soupfulness - time for lots of substantial main course soups made with seasonal veg and pearl barley etc. - tasty, healthy - and cheap!

I draw and paint lots however I only seem to get any sort of inspiration when the summer fades!? Autumn , winter and early doors spring are most interesting for me and I just love getting layered up with sweaters comfy cotton over shirts and tunics too! Leggings trapper hats and- boots boots boots!!! Love em!

I’m really hoping for a few more weeks of summer but the long range weather forecast does not look promising for the NW of England. I think we have missed out on the summer weather this year, when the news was full of clips of people sweltering on beaches, it was cloudy here - the spell of really hot weather was very brief.

I’m not looking forward to squeezing my feet into shoes again, even when it’s a bit chilly, I only wear flip flops between May and October then struggle to wear shoes again - torture for a couple of weeks until I get used to it!

Agree for the missed summer a bit this year! I'm in deepest darkest Lancashire and although beautiful all year round maybe a bit more dry weather? Garden always suffers from slimy drenched blooms syndrome! Have to chop all roses to save them from a drowning! But autumn/winter brings countryside beauty too...

In recent years, summer has held back until September and October and we have had Septembers have been hot dry and sunny and October as well at times.

As an Autumn lover I find this incredibly frustrating because once Spetmeber comes I am already to jump into my woolies, walkthrough Autumn woods loving the colour and kicking up the fallen leaves.
