Oops, BladeAnnie got distracted by the remembered vodka!
I hope the w***y was placed accurately, perhaps the advertising masseur could have helped ??
Sounds like a brilliant hen event, I wonder if it bought back memories of your own wonderful wedding?

TillyTrotter Sun 22-Aug-21 20:09:28

Your DD’s Hen Doo sounded fun BladeAnnie. Now you have experience of running such an event I think you can expect to be asked to join the staff of the Argy Bar at the re-opening.

Take the “Pin The W***y On The Groom” game along - it would be a hit there too.

Yiayia4 Sun 22-Aug-21 20:48:36

Sounds like you had a wonderful party BladeAnnie now the wedding to look forward to.

No rain here for the bbq hope it was the same for you Jax, sorry to hear about your friend and hope she gets better very soon.
Lovely cross stitch Grandmabatty. Oscar really enjoyed doing the diamond art he’s coming tomorrow to finish it!!
Good night Kitcheners sleep well.

BladeAnnie Sun 22-Aug-21 21:31:29

jax, Tilly, Yia - it was hilarious ? especially when the honorary hen ? (Mr BA!!) Turned the groom poster upside down so one w***y ended up on the groom's head rather than his nether regions!! I sort of wish I'd have had a hen party....???

brook2704 Sun 22-Aug-21 21:42:06

Sounds a good laugh BladeAnnie ! like Tilly said with those party planning skills you’d definitely be welcome in the Argy when it reopens! ?

Nannytopsy Sun 22-Aug-21 22:15:45

Hello everyone! A late arrival in the kitchen today. I made it to church this morning then took the granddog for a walk before the forecast rain. It arrived early. I was dripping when I got home!
She goes home tomorrow- we shall hand her over at the big blue and yellow warehouse in the shadow of the Dartford crossing. Then we will go shopping!
There is lots of talk of garden and allotment produce - well done everyone. We have successfully grown chillies for the first time but oh my goodness are they hot!
Sleep tight everyone x

What a busy kitchen! So many posts to catch up on again!

I love the Halloween cross stitch grandmabatty and the diamond art birthday card Yia.

We have been enjoying lots of lovely produce from the garden too.DD raided the greenhouse yesterday and our neighbour popped her head over the fence telling DH what she liked the look of!

I have booked myself a spa afternoon today.A couple of hours relaxing with no phone.Bliss!

The hen party sounds good fun BladeAnnie.

Glad to see you muse and so pleased that Mya is improving and Mr M is taking more care of himself. Also good news from your son?

Will pop back later.TOYA.

muse Mon 23-Aug-21 09:35:05

As you say: Such bliss susan. ?

I used to do swaps with the neighbour at my old house. Mainly my French beans for his rhubarb.

I’m over the moon with all my son’s news. A very happy mum now.

Grandmabatty Mon 23-Aug-21 13:32:53

No sign of any spots or anything else so the boy wonder went to playgroup. He went in really happily so that's a bonus. He's not himself though and has been quite emotional and looking for mummy a lot. It's all a lot for a wee boy to take in. Dd has taken him home so I have a free afternoon. I'm going to rest as I had a bad night's sleep again. Story of my life! I've made proper custard so I'll have some later. Have a good day all.

soop Mon 23-Aug-21 16:35:38

Yia Wow! Love the diamond art. It really is beautiful.

Grandmabatty Pleased to hear that the wee boy is spot free.
Ditto the poor night's sleep. I was restless, too warm, too everything until the time came for me to hop out of bed.

soop Mon 23-Aug-21 16:47:30

I ventured into the garden shortly after lunch. I aimed to merely dead head. So, why have I just this minute returned...scratched/bruised/whacked? All my own silly fault. I decided to hike through an area of wilderness and tidy it. Two heaped wheelbarrows later and I'm needing a brew and TCP on a few bloody scratches. As I've already said...mea culpa.

I have had a telephone appointment with our lovely GP. He is "chasing up" the colo/rectal specialist with whom I'm hoping for a proper appointment. It's good to talk. grin

Mr Soop would like me to help him to place an on-line order for a smart shirt and T-shirt offer. I like being useful. wink

I intend spending more time with you all tomorrow. In the meantime, do continue to take good care of yourselves. You are very special peoples. smile moon

Grandmabatty Mon 23-Aug-21 17:13:20

I did a little tidying in the garden Soop but not nearly as much as you! It's a very warm and humid day here so I've kept indoors as my headache is still bubbling under. I've been sewing all afternoon. Tomorrow is a babysitting one so I will be at the park CA in the morning and in the garden in the afternoon. Reins will be applied.

Grandmabatty Mon 23-Aug-21 17:13:45

No idea where CA came from

Yiayia4 Mon 23-Aug-21 18:11:33

We had Oscar today. He’s really enjoying the diamond art. It’s a pleasure to help him he’s just 7 so doing very well with it.
Sorry you still have the headache Grandmabatty maybe a chat with your G.P might help.
Soop I do hope you get your referral very soon.
Happy about your son Muse. Hope you enjoyed your spa day Susan just what you need.
Tomorrow I must start packing the caravan we are going to Somerset on Thursday for a few days then Weymouth for a week.Looking forward to a nice break not much walking but a nice change will be good.
Have good evening everyone see you tomorrow.

Madgran77 Mon 23-Aug-21 18:33:30

I have found you again!. I had the thread on my "Watching" list and was wondering why no-one was posting ...but had not clicked on it until today as I was puzzled. Then I saw the thread had reached a 1000 postings mark!!

Anyway Hi again everyone. Just wondering if anyone on here has ever made "no churn homemade icecream"? If so do you have a recipe and do you have any tips? I am planning to have a go with my 9 year old grandaughter at the weekend

brook2704 Mon 23-Aug-21 19:00:53

So pleased you’ve found us again madgran I can’t help with the ice cream query sorry , but hoping others can
I’m another one here who’s been in the garden today, a bit of mowing, weeding and general tidying up! Soop it’s funny how one thing in the garden leads to another - and it’s never ending !
Good news that about DGS grandmabatty I hope he enjoys playgroup and settles in well
Your holiday sounds lovely yia just what’s needed I bet ?

Grandmabatty Mon 23-Aug-21 19:08:08

Madgran Nigella Lawson has lots of no churn ice cream recipes. I haven't tried them out seeing as I'm diabetic and would eat it all but if you Google it, there should be plenty. Good luck. Sounds tasty

Grandmabatty Mon 23-Aug-21 19:08:53

Yiayia have a lovely holiday.

Jaxjacky Mon 23-Aug-21 19:28:41

Yia that area is lovely, fingers crossed the weather holds. I loved the diamond art, I’ve never crafted because I’ve got little patience and I’ve always thought, what are all the things for, now I know!
*muse bet you’re well chuffed with news from your son after a dismal few months, long May it continue and ?for your daughter’s September visit.
Madgran ?? we’ll have to leave a trail of crumbs next time!
soop you’ve returned safe from the jungle, feet up and hopefully a swift appointment with the right expert.
Grandmabatty any custard left? you’ve given me a hankering now….
Domestic day here today, no pinny I’m afraid, housework, paying car tax, sorting ‘stuff’.
Tomorrow will be more rigorous.
Have a gentle evening all, hope panache is still enveloped in love and support, as well as Mr phoenix.

Madgran77 Mon 23-Aug-21 19:31:31

Ooh thankyou grandmabatty! I will take a look.

Grandmabatty Mon 23-Aug-21 19:54:23

JaxJacky I've made trifle with it so the boy wonder will get some tomorrow. I use Delia's recipe which never fails.

Jaxjacky Mon 23-Aug-21 20:15:57

Well that’s lovely Grandmabatty, but, was there any left…..

Doodle Mon 23-Aug-21 20:29:53

Sorry all I haven’t a hope of catching up. So just popping in to say hello ? and hope everyone is ok.
Did someone mention ice cream? ?
Take care all. Back for a proper catch up tomorrow ?

Dogsmakemesmile Mon 23-Aug-21 21:12:29

Just popped in before I go to sleep. Exhausted (pleasantly) after a day of looking after my toddler granddaughter. Doing it again tomorrow. Lunch was whatever I could grab and tea was a very pleasant flatbread with falafels and yogurt. All Waitrose. Oh and fruit to have my five a day. Tomorrow will make risotto. Have not read posts yet but will . I think it is too late to sneak into the Good Morning thread. Hope people had a good a day as possible.

muse Tue 24-Aug-21 09:11:17

Good morning. Hive of activity here. We have people laying slabs, man strimming grass, MrM making breakfast and me reading a pm but I will be busy soon. I'm baking a cake. Urmstongran is dropping in tomorrow.?Celebration time.?
