Thank you for your concern GrandmaFrench. Neurofatigue is something anybody with a brain injury, including strokes, will be familiar with. I’m sure Elizabeth will know exactly what I mean! It strikes when you’re not expecting it and it makes planning difficult. I will take care, but I need to lessen my risk of falls. That means working those muscles and that saps my energy as they don’t want to be worked! I will have a lazy day tomorrow and exercise indoors.

www.gransnet.com/forums/chat/a1299918-Phoenix-An-updated-Thread
Thank you Marydoll As has been said by others, this link to your thread, This thread for Phoenix could not have been started by anyone more kinder and caring.
I just popped in to see how you are this morning dear Soop as I read yesterday how upsetting this sad news was for you.
I would nip up to Kintyre to give you a hug if it was possible to do so but, instead, I am sending you love and a warm hug. I hope you and your adorable MacSporran have a gentle day. X ?
What has happened to the former lay-out of Gransnet forums? Is something amiss with mine? Have any othe kitcheners difficulty in logging on? If not, GNHQ Please, please sort out my page for me.
Mine's OK soop. I use the desktop version.
Just dropping in to say I'll likely be awol for a couple of weeks. Nothing wrong. Just life taking over.
I'll read when I can and check for news of phoenix. Take care all. Back soon.
Thanks for your concern, Grandmafrance. I saw the dermatologist today for a brief consultation but long enough for him to confirm my GP's diagnosis of BCC and notice another blemish near my nose and decide that it too is a BCC. So he is referring me to the Plastics department and now I await an appointment. Oh joy! My cup runneth over. Now packing for trip to Scotland. The forecast is dreich! I'm discarding summer tops for woolly cardies; sandals back in the cupboard.
That little girl's birthday cake I ate yesterday appears to have put 2lbs on me. How could that happen?
Thank you all once again for your lovely posts and supportive messages.
Hope today is a better day muse and that you are back with us soon corner?I totally understand that feeling of life taking over?
Thank you for the link to the new thread about Phoenix Marydoll.soop I too hope you are feeling better this morning?
TOYA
SueDonim,so sorry about your holiday cancellation. What a rotten thing to happen, so disappointing.
Annodomini it depends where in Scotland you are going. The central belt has been lovely the last few days and more of the same is forecast. My mum had a rodent ulcer between her eyes which had to be removed. She had plastic surgery and you would never know. Soop I had terrible problems at the weekend trying to get on the site. Cornergran ? if you need them.
Boy wonder excelled himself this morning. We were at the park and he decided to run away. In the process he climbed up a ditch onto long grass. His poor grandma slipped and puffed after him, falling all my length trying to climb out of the ditch. When I finally made it, the boy wonder had climbed back down. To add insult to injury, he then hot footed it up a hill, skirting the path and heading for long grass, grandma trailing in his wake, calling plaintively while he ran and laughed. I eventually caught him and grabbed him tight. One grubby, happy boy, one sweating, grubby and knackered grandma. The ducks weren't fed today. Boy wonder has been very cuddly, what I would call 'sooky' as he knows he was naughty.
Mr Rooster had his second cataract operation today. He's just polished off a hearty lunch so can't be feeling too bad. When I asked him how his sight was, he said he can't see me clearly with that eye-----so I told him to be grateful for small mercies !!
Oh my goodness Grandmabatty?you did well to catch him.Even with the two of us I get slightly stressed taking Henry to the park as he is renowned for running off too.
I was just putting the linen away in the airing cupboard and the steps I was standing on collapsed.I am not a naturally graceful person but my landing was worthy of an Olympic gymnast?♀️?DH was most impressed. He then said I will put the steps in the garage and repair them?I don’t think so dear,my graceful landing was definitely a one off?
Pleased Mr Rooster is feeling well after his cataract operation chicken?
I cannot get thoughts of Phoenix out of my mind. I am wanting her to find peace. There is little more that I can add right now.
? for you soop and everlasting peace for Phoenix soon ?
I think a lot of us agree soop. Some of us, who have been here since early on, have been on a wonderful journey with phoenix full of happiness, sadness, fun and laughter. And it was never boring.
kitty Phoenix was fun. Never ever boring, as you rightly say.
chicken You are a tyke!
Susan Falls happen in the blink of an eye. Falls shake the body and befuddle the mind. PLEASE no more tumbles. Us lot care.
Grandmabatty As I read your latest message, I felt such admiration for you. You must have been terrified at though of the little one doing damage to himself. Thank goodness you pulled out all the stops and all ended well, if a wee bit muddily.
TillyTrotter The book looks colourful and entertaining. I would enjoy reading it.
anno Your consultant is well on the ball. I trust that you haven't too long to wait for specialised treatment.
Scottish weather can be surprisingly varied. Pack for four seasons. You can't go too far wrong.
Silly you...cake is only ever calorie-free in this kitchen. Real cake does bad things to my curves. They swell up and, no matter how big my Sloggis, they always cut in all the wrong places. Do we give up the pleasure of real cake? Nah!
Kalu Your kind words have helped to lift my spirits.
corner A wee refreshing break for the right reasons is a beneficial thing. We look forward to your return.
muse the cartoon made me grin from ear to ear. Perfect!
Thank you all for your concern for this overweight, underfit grandma. Tilly I had reins for him when he was younger of a similar sort as you show, but he never needed them, so foolishly I put them away. He was extra wriggly this afternoon when blethering to his favourite person (and dog) in my street and then took off again! When I deposited him home he was badly behaved to his daddy. A fit of the terrible twos today which is most unlike him. I am sitting on the couch, having had two paracetamol. Fish and chips later. Have a good evening all.
GrannyGravy I heard somewhere on the grapevine that Gravy Grange is bursting at the seams with activity and happy catch-up chatter. Long may it last.
Brook Happy memory making. Nothing quite like it.
BladeAnnie That Duncan is a real poser. Rightly so.
Blossoming Our Grandmafrench has, as usual, been so eloquent and I agree with what she prescribes for your recovery. Less work (if you can delegate) and more space in which to appreciate the simple pleasures of life without stressing yourself in any way, shape or form.
I gave myself a good talking to. I realised that I was neglecting you and that you all have stresses and strains to contend with from time to time.
If I have overlooked someone, please know that I do care about you. It's simply that my mind is disorientated at the moment.
Back to the painting of a lazy cat that appears to have not a care in the world.
When Hellogirl's painting is delivered to her home, I shall share the photo of Billy's portrait with you.
Bye for now.

Please note that the Gransnet forum page appears to have righted itself.
Take care Grandmabatty. Rest up and enjoy the fish and chips.
That’s terrible to lose your holiday Sue people like that don’t deserve to run a business!
Hope Mr C makes a good recovery Chicken
Soop ?
Have a pleasant evening everyone.
Thank you again for the no-holiday sympathy! My mother wasn’t in the least sympathetic when I told her. ‘It’s only a holiday’ she said, which it is, but you know…

I’ve managed to cobble together some sort of a gathering for us all. My three UK DC and their families are coming up to stay with us. As they arrive, Dh and I are decamping to a rather nice local hotel so the ‘kids’ can have more space ans the run of the house. And I won’t be the skivvy. Not that I said that to them, of course.
We’ll come and visit each day and they can make us coffee and feed us cake instead of the other way round. I might even leave loads of dirty dishes around the place and strew my dirty laundry about the house. ?
Anno, layers of clothing are the way to go in Scotland! Weather can turn on a sixpence here.
Grandmabatty I hear over speedy Gonzales grandchildren! I have my heart in my mouth half the time with mine when they’re out. Thankfully, they’re a wee bit more sensible now but you need gimlet eyes, don’t you?
The news of Phoenix is so sad. How can the light go out just like that?
All for now, take care everyone.
Glad you have sound a solution SueDonim to the disgraceful last minute cancellation of your holiday. I think you have hit upon a grand plan, you and Mr SD in a hotel. Wishing you all a marvellous time.
Crumbs Frandmabatty what agility! I’m not surprised you need the paracetamol, little tinker, you’ll sleep well.
chicken that sounds like a very good result, modern medicine is brilliant.
Caught early anno, hopefully soon treated, enjoy your trip to Scotland, a beautiful land. SueD a well thought out plan B, I think nibbles and drinks on a silver platter about 6pm are in order too ?.
Susan the place for those steps is the BIN, now… unless you plan to take up juggling as well?
An appropriate cartoon muse, I hope your day has not been too frenetic and MrM is doing as told, possibly a fat chance ?
I’ve done 2 drives today, gosh I’m lucky, so many people I drive are desperately lonely, I’m hoping our little chats in the car enliven their day.
The picture I’m posting, which will probably come out sideways again GNHQ? really pleased me.
soop I don’t know phoenix that well, as I’m relatively new, but the sense of love and impending loss is palpable, I wish I had known this spunky lady better.
Good evening lovely Kitcheners. I am feeling ashamed and embarrassed for whinging about my problems over the last few days and I apologise for getting on a few people’s nerves. I will not mention them again.
Have a restful night all.
