Thank you Marydoll x
Thank you for letting us know marydoll
Thoughts are with phoenix and her family ?
Marydoll thanks for letting us know. It is all so sad. The majority of us have not met her but we all loved her quirky sense of humour.
Thank you, Marydoll for letting us know. May she find peace.
Thank you Marydoll, so sad to know that lovely Phoenix, so long such a vibrant part of Gransnet, is not able to read all these lovely messages from those who 'knew' her over the years.
?
Marydoll thank you.
Thank you Marydoll. So upsetting for those of us who were lucky to be part of Phoenix life to know time is running out for our very dear friend. ?
Thanks, Marydoll for letting us know.
Phoenix,: It is with great sadness that I am letting you all know that the lovely Phoenix is now unable to read your messages personally. Rest assured, she knows how much you all love and care for her and it has given her great comfort.
I think it is best to just leave it at that for now.
CondolencesSusan56 just started to read through.
Good morning (just about) Mick and the GM team from a slightly grey east London.
Wishing you a very Happy Birthday Grammaretto, have a lovely day and enjoy happy memories from birthdays past.
Phoenix wishing you a comfortable, positive day and sending you good wishes.
Quiet day for me today.
Wishing all the Good Morning-ers the best day possible. ?
good morning to everyone (just about) It has been grey and windy and looking like rain all morning and was awake early as my back was very bad. So it was the right day to attack the mountain of ironing that I have just finished at last. Tonight there is a singing practise for members of different choirs just to get us back into better ways as we have not had any singing for so long. We all have had jabs etc and so can meet well spaced out in a church to get together and tonight it is about singing high notes for the Vaughan Williams and Finzi that one choir are singing in december. Music has been very important all my life and so feel I am getting a chunk of my life back tonight. So was able to go swimming last week for the first time for such a long time so am grateful for the help that is for my back. I have only recently joined this group but send my condolences and do hope that you have an easy journey Susan56 and I am sure that your family there will be pleased to see you Hope the day goes smoothly for everyone
Good morning,
It's a grey day here in South Yorkshire with occasional drizzle and quite a lot cooler.
Had a day out in York yesterday with DH, and it was lovely- so nice to be able to do "normal" things again. Although it was busy in certain places such as The Shambles area, other areas were quieter and a lot of tables have been set up outdoors for people to sit either with their own picnics or with food and drink from cafes and restaurants. It looks as if the council have closed a lot of roads within the city to traffic to make this possible. I must admit it made wandering around feel safer, but I suppose it's tricky for the motorists.
Of course, we did a bit of retail therapy (I needed some new casual shoes as my existing pair are really looking the worse for wear now) and then we found a nice Italian restaurant for lunch - sadly, the one we went to regularly has closed, I imagine a victim of Covid, which is a shame as it was always very good.
Today, I've a few household jobs to get on with then will probably read my book.
Condolences Susan ? A sad time for you, but I hope you will be comforted by all the happy memories you'll have.
Wishing you a happy birthday Grammaretto ??.
Take care everyone.
Good morning Mick and all from a cloudy Lancashire coast.
Out soon to take jumble to charity shop and pick up a summer dress which has been shortened, it was trailing on the ground. Summer might be over by the time I wear it, but I hear talk of a heatwave.
Tired today as not slept well and the cat jumps on the bed for attention at an unearthly hour.
So pleased that my DD has found a flat she likes near London, she has been housesharing but desperately wants her own space. I’m rather private myself apart from family so understand.
A single friend asked me yesterday if I wanted to go to Malta with her, but I’m not ready for all the palaver of going abroad yet. Apart from that, I’ve been abroad with her before and although I like nights out with her, find holidays too much. We are very different people. However I feel guilty at turning her down. It’s difficult.
Thoughts to the sick and well.
Good morning, Mick and everyone from cool grey Carlisle. The central heating has kicked in this morning, has the warm sun gone for this summer?!
Yesterday was rather dismal for me. I woke with a headache which developed into a bit of a migraine which made me feel rather washed out so nothing really got done. OK today. I'm putting my furniture back in place now the linseed oil has dried. It all looks so much nicer, the wood has turned a beautiful gold colour. Thankfully, the smell of the oil is dissipating, I suspect it's the cause of the migraine.
Today is laundry and cleaning morning. I like to get the unloved jobs done at the beginning of the week so I can look forward to the rest of it.
My condolences Susan, so sad for your DH not to be able to say goodbye to his father.
My thoughts with all suffering ill-health and worries.
Good morning all from a misty grey Lancs where it is currently raining. Very quiet here today, the rain is keeping the walkers and cyclists away. Hoping it will be dry for my walk later, I really need to get out as lockdown has had a negative impact on my mobility and confidence. Have the best day possible, so many with troubles and sadness today.
Good morning from an overcast Durham. Grandmadinosaur pleased you enjoyed your visit up here. It’s a gem, but we try not to boast!
Such sad news on the thread this morning. Won’t rabbit on.
X
Happy birthday Grammaretto?

ginny we have visited Beaulieu motor museum many times over the years and have visited Southampton Hall of Aviation. It’s down near Ocean Village. I think it’s had a name change. The Dockyard at Portsmouth we also found vey interesting.
Wishing you a very Happy Birthday Grammaretto have a lovely day ???
Good morning from cool and cloudy Sefton.
It’s so sad to hear about your dear, gentle FiL, Susan56 ?. Have a safe journey. Condolences to you too dragonfly. May you have a comfortable day, phoenix; I think of you a lot. Best wishes to Olddudders; at last the prospect of being reunited with him is a reality, Ash. Happy birthday Grammaretto. ???
Tidying up, laundry, dog walking and knitting will probably occupy my day.
DS’s due to collect his cute, little pooch this evening, more’s the pity. ?
Sending a smile and a wave to you all.
Recovering after lovely visit from DD, DSiL and DGD1. Took advantage of their presence to get new bulbs put in all the lights I can’t reach whether needed or not and to empty the airing cupboard and sort out what we actually need rather than what I had stuffed in there. Four bags for the tip and two for the charity shop so a good effort and I can easily reach the stuff I use most of the time.
Ex-DiL and DGD2 and DGS coming this afternoon as they are staying not far away so had better do some baking, and then tomorrow a very old friend is coming to lunch with her son who is driving her home from Devon to Northampton, so I need to plan for that. Will need a rest after all the excitement!
Sad news from Susan and of course of phoenix so a little quiet reflection is called for. As Grandmafrench so accurately observes, we must celebrate the life we are lucky to have - and mostly I do.
Good morning from SW Herts, bit of sun and cloud, but not that warm. Susan such sad news, I wish you a safe journey to say goodbye. It has been a terrible weekend, two friends have suddenly lost close relatives, one has been diagnosed with leukaemia. "I'm so sorry" just seems inadequate. It has Good that you have booked the ferry, Ash let's hope the scan reveals the problem and a possible fix.
Happy birthday Grammaretto may you have the happiest day.
DH is off taking someone to hospital, so I have the morning free. I ought to be out there planting some of the lovely things we bought half price in the sale yesterday, but I am an expert at procrastination. My thoughts with everyone struggling. ?????
