Thank you merlot. I often hear You and Yours but don't really listen if you see what I mean, but I don't think I had the radio on that day. What an inspiring interview. She sounded just like I would have expected.

I’ll never look at my montbritia again without thinking of Phoenix.
Id never had montbretia before and wondered if id loose them if I moved them.
Her answer was loose them!!! even if you boiled them you couldn’t kill them

I have just listened to the You and Yours clip and am so impressed. What a brave, funny and upbeat woman Phoenix was. An inspiration, she will be missed.

I've only just discovered this thread. What sad news. I can't remember a time on GN without Phoenix she will be sorely missed.

Merlotgran thank you so much- I listened to the clip and she was funny, articulate, down to earth as she has been the time I have "known" her and especially since diagnosed and of course the last few weeks and months.

I have just listened to the radio clip "you and yours" it takes a strong person to be so positive like Phoenix, it makes you feel such a whimp when we moan about trivial things.

Such a sad time for her family and friends and also her little pets who will wonder where she has gone.

I just remembered Fawkes the phoenix flying off into the Sunset at the end of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. It seemed such a fitting image.
